It's a beautiful day for a war.

As the mortal world slowly slips into chaos of the godly kind, Alexandria Andros must overcome a stunning defeat that has left her shaken and in doubt of their ability to end this war once and for all.

And with all the obstacles between Alex and her happily-ever-after with the swoonworthy Aiden St. Delphi, they must now trust a deadly foe as they travel deep into the Underworld to release one of the most dangerous gods of all time.

In the stunning, action-packed climax to the bestselling Covenant series, Alex must face a terrible choice: the destruction of everything and everyone she holds dear… or the end of herself.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I am the first to admit that when it comes to reading a last book in a series, I get nervous and I hold off. I am not sure what I am waiting for, because I stay away from spoilers, but I get nervous. I don't peek to see how it rates, I don't look at reviews.

I still haven’t managed to read Mockingjay, Hunger Games # 3. I get a bit melancholy when it comes to a series ending. I think I figure if I don’t read the last book, it hasn’t actually finished.

Well. Duh! It has, Michelle. But in my head it hasn't.

I have loved this series from the start. I do love Aiden and I am so happy to see that Seth gets an adult spinoff, Titans. The Return is releasing February 2015.

I liked Seth. He has many flaws, he didn’t do the right thing, but he redeemed himself in Sentinel. The best he could, considering.

And then Seth chuckled deeply. “Clever, Angel.”

I thought the first thirdish of this book was a little slow for me personally, but it did pick up.

THEN...

It had me feeling the emotions.

I thought the ending was very well thought out and written.

I liked it, alot.

I thought it was clever.

It didn’t stop it being sad, but it was clever.

I liked the introduction of a Titan, Perses. I kind of forgot that he was really a very, very bad Titan. Like dude, you did some terrible stuff.

But, Jennifer gave us an amusing Perses. We forgot that he was a very bad boy, hence why Hades had him locked up like a popsicle.

But hey, good help is hard to find, so sometimes you can’t be choosy.

There was one point in this book where I felt like queueing the dramatic music.

Da...da...daaaaaaaa!!!

I was like WT!

Seth and Aiden naturally had words to say to each other. I always knew Seth was never going to wind up with Alex. I am looking forward to finding out who Jennifer has lined up for Seth.

I rolled my eyes.

“Do tell.” A muscle spasmed in Aiden’s jaw.

“One word.” Seth took a small step forward, a grin playing across his lips. “Jealousy.”

I threw my hands up. “I give up. Not like we don’t have real problems to deal with, but let’s continue the boy-fight.”

Aiden and Alex’s love was inevitable it would stay true. I never felt it was threatened by Seth. Not really. I always thought there was going to be a twist with Aiden having the title St. in his name.

I was wrong.

“The only time I hadn’t been selfish was when I pushed you away, and that’s the day I regret most.”

I did think I was a smarty pants and predicted something happening in this installment, but then...there was a great twist, that kind of told me where to shove my prediction.

I liked that!

War was inevitable. Alex was the one to end the war with her skills. We knew this from the last book.

No one answered, because seriously, we could be exchanging one apocalyptic situation for another.

The ending did get me quite emotional for a few reasons. But I shall keep those to myself.

I am looking forward to Seth’s spinoff and I wouldn’t be surprised if Perses pops up.

After all it is the Titan’s series.

Deacon and Luke had some fun lines.

With wide eyes, Deacon remained by Aiden’s side. “If you head starts spinning...”

“Shut up, Deacon,” Aiden growled.

They won’t get past us. Have half of us form a line several yards back,” Aiden ordered. The rest of us will stay here.”

Luke shook his head and muttered, “That would be the oh-shit line.”

Apollo has always put a smile on my face with his dialogue through out this series.

“He doesn’t swing that way,” Apollo commented, his blue eyes alive with amusement. “And I didn’t think you did, either.”

A very satisfying ending to a war of emotions and fighting the good fight, saving humanity from extinction and half-bloods getting a fair go in life. You can never trust a God, but there are always exceptions.

I am looking forward to The Return. The title alone makes me think Seth is coming back with a bang.

  1. I've never read any of her books but it's either this or her alien series that I want to try out first.
