RANDOM POSTING #50 - THE HUNGER GAMES MOVIE COUNTDOWN

I know.....I have yet to read the books!!!  And I have some serious couch time owed to me so I can plow through them in time for the movie!!
My husband came to me a while ago and asked if I had any books on my shelves that would be good for him...so I said why not try The Hunger Games?!  He has nearly finished Mockingjay and is now VERY MUCH looking forward to the movie release.  He checks out all the trailers and tidbits hoping to get a sneak peak at more stuff each time!!!
He even has chatted via Skype with blog partner Michelle about the book!!!

So I trolled on the net and came across the countdown widget above....I think it looks great! So I thought I would share it.  I've put some trailers below - just in case there are few that havent seen them....or even just for those that can't get enough!

ENJOY!

RANDOM # 12 - THE HUNGER GAMES EW MAGAZINE COVER OF KATNISS

Pop over to the link below and have a read.  How good does Jennifer Lawrence look as Katniss Everdeen. I am impressed. It is getting very exciting now, knowing it is actually happening.

Now , I sit and wait ever so patiently for The Mortal Instruments to get up and running....

A quote from the EW exclusive:

After officially signing on, Suzanne Collins herself called to offer a starstruck Lawrence her most hearty congratulations. “I feel like when you said yes,” the author told her, “the world got lifted off my shoulders.”

BOOK REVIEW - CATCHING FIRE by SUZANNE COLLINS - THE HUNGER GAMES # 2

By: Suzanne Collins
Published By : Scholastic
Released : Available Now
Details : Paperback , 472 Pages

RATING : 5 STARS!!!  I NEED MOCKINGJAY NOW!!!!
Book Blurb: Taken from Goodreads

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge.

Luckily I had Catching Fire ready to read the minute I finished The Hunger Games..pure brilliance the book. Mockingjay , the 3rd book in series is coming  August 2010 so not much longer to wait. I just loved the story of  survival.  The rebellion is starting, can't wait to read in Mockingjay how it all pans out. I am still Team Peeta as he has what it takes in a solid guy for me . There are deaths, betrayal, loyalty, love lost in this book. I just can't wait for Mockingjay...I must unfortunately . Do yourself a favour and read this 3 book series..I can only hope there is a 4th. I am deliberately not saying too much or else I will give away this exciting book. All I will say is Katniss , for a teenager has had beyond her fair share of games. Peeta , so selfless, Haymitch carrying the burden of his time in the games deeply, destructively, maybe it's time for a plan?

BOOK REVIEW - THE HUNGER GAMES

By: Suzanne Collins
Published By : Scholastic
Released : Available Now
Details : Paperback , 454 Pages

RATING: 5 STARS!!!! TRUE BRILLIANCE !!!

Book Blurb : Taken from Goodreads

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with every one out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?

In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.

Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before—and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

REVIEW COMING.....

A friend told me if I didnt read these books she would cry..so I did.

WOW!!! WOW!!! WOW!!! I loved The Hunger Games. I found it original , fast paced and to survive is not easy. Suzanne is the type of author who will let children die, loved characters die. You don't know what is coming until it hits you. I am glad to hear it will be a movie but have my fingers crossed that it won't be ruined. Children must kill other children to survive whatever the mental cost later on. Haymitch is brilliant. I don't think I had a team in this book. Peeta all the way....It is a little sci-fi with the Capitol...I don't normally read sci-fi but this was an excellent read.

Its amazing how characters in the Capitol had no conscience..killing children was okay. I am trying to get a friend to read them but she was fearful of the fact children kill children, I was too. I thought how will Suzanne write this book...just brilliantly. Don't be afraid to read it because of the childrens need to kill to survive, it is written superbly. No disappointment here. A HUGE!! fave of mine:D
