By: Larissa Ione
Published By: Hachette
Released : Available Now
Details: Paperback from Library, 400 Pages

RATING: 4.5 LORE STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

A DEMON ENSLAVED
Lore is a Seminus half-breed demon who has been forced to act as his dark master's assassin. Now to earn his freedom and save his sister's life, he must complete one last kill. Powerful and ruthless, he'll stop at nothing to carry out this deadly mission.

AN ANGEL TEMPTED
Idess is an earthbound angel with a wild side, sworn to protect the human Lore is targeting. She's determined to thwart her wickedly handsome adversary by any means necessary-even if that means risking her vow of eternal chastity. But what begins as a simple seduction soon turns into a passion that leaves both angel and demon craving complete surrender.

Torn between duty and desire, Lore and Idess must join forces as they battle their attraction for each other. Because an enemy from the past is rising again-one hellbent on vengeance and unthinkable destruction.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

Things are hotting up in this series, more seeds are dropped and I had a great time reading Ecstasy Unveiled.

Lore is a great character, totally loved him.

Lore casually peeled off his glove, exposing his killing hand, and his cold smile matched the Neethul’s . Except that on Lore, it was sexy. Sexier than it should be, but she was rapidly realizing that Lore was a lot of things he shoudn’t be.

He is a killer, he also has a heart buried deep, he wants out, but Detharu will not let him without finishing off one more job.

Can he complete this job?

For Sin, his sister, he must, but love gets in the way. Things get complicated and then there are the three Seminus demons who aren’t going to stand for what Lore must do to ensure Sin’s safety and his contract freedom.

Shade was fierce in his opinion of what must be done, Eidolon is ever the voice of reason.Wraith is Wraith.

I really liked Sin, she is a fierce chick.

Idess is also kickass and I loved the moments between Lore and herself, their discovery of what was happening between them.

Both characters are fiercely independent, yet they needed each other more than they realized.

Conall has my attention, the half vampire, half warg. He is rather smexi.

I am looking forward to Sin Undone, Conall and Sin’s story. The more I read in this series, the more I am invested. I can’t wait until it switches to the Lords of Deliverance.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

Addicted. Much.

Yes, I am quite addicted to this series and I imagine I will get it all up to date, including Lords Of Deliverance, by the end of this year.

Wraith. What do I say about you that hasn’t already been said? You got quite a character makeover in this installment, you got a conscience. He is hella smexi.

She hooked a finger under the collar of his T-shirt and tugged playfully. ‘Bad boys.’

“Oh, yeah?” His voice was low and rough, and he liked it. “What about you? Do you like bad boys?”

“There’s definitely appeal.” she breathed.

“Good.” He bent and clipped her earlobe with his teeth. The scent of her desire filled the air, and his nostrils flared, taking it in. “Because they don’t come badder than me.”

Serena is a great character that compliments Wraith. She is fierce, selfless and focused.

Wraith, the most damaged out of the brothers, ( we won’t count Roag, he’s a baddie and doing baddie dead time in the depths of demon world), really connected with me in Passion Unleashed.

He got his HEA.

Nawwww.

I do love Shade and Eidolon, they are really there for Wraith. They do try to steer him in a certain direction, well they are demons, but Wraith came into his own.

Byzamoth is our villain of this story and he has set his sights on Serena, the Marked Sentinel.

Kynan. I do love his character. Gem is also a fave of mine. I just love her look, too.

Lore is a great character that we get a nice handful of in this book. I’m looking forward to more of him.

Reaver!! Love this fallen angel. We get a lot more of Reaver which I totally dug. I can’t wait to get to his book, down the track.

I have to be honest and say I thought this book got off to a slow start for a reasonable amount of the story, then once I got to a certain mark it really took off.

Whooooossshhh!

I can see even more now how Lords Of Deliverance series will come about. We got a healthy dose of thwarting evil that tried to bring on a war and the downfall of human existence.

What I really liked about this installment, was I got a bit anxious how something was going to play out. It was a catch 22 situation. Damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

That played out very well, giving me that nervous, anxious part of the book.

Larissa has upped the stakes and some characters have got new roles, opening up the story line.

One thing that had me going back looking to see if I had missed a novella or got my books out of order. Runa and Shade had their babies. I got a bit of story whiplash. I gather Larissa didn't want to focus on that part of the story and I assume the time lapse fitted in with Wraith's story.

I had a good look at the Demon Compendium that was at the end of this book. I loved reading , ‘The Reckoning’, this was a very short look at how the brother’s met Wraith.

In a way it would have made a great back story in this book , inserted into the storyline. It would have speeded up the front part of this book. I seriously wanted to read more. The visual of poor Wraith, and what his vampire family did to him was very well written.

I really sympathized with Wraith having read it.

I am looking forward to reading Eternity Embraces # 3.5, which I have on my Kindle and then onto Ecstasy Unveiled # 4.

I also enjoyed reading a little snippet over on Larissa’s web page about Wraith and Serena. I couldn’t read the others just yet until I read more in this series.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I am fast becoming addicted to Larissa’s, Demonica series, this world of smexi demons and some not so smexi demons, has me quite captivated and looking forward to the next book.

This is a well written installment that delivers the * gasp* villain who knows how to get under your skin. Pun intended.

Shade and Runa are our romantic hook up in this book. I really like Shade, he is flawed, well, duh, he is a demon. He comes with some excess baggage, being that crazy curse of his, the Maluncoeur.

A very creative curse.

Runa is no longer the person she used to be ( seriously I could be doing quite a few puns in this review, I'll contain myself ) and she has some secrets of her own.

Runa and Shade wake up in a dungeon chained, awaiting the robed villain to seal their fate.

But!

Shade isn’t going to let a little thing like being chained up and tortured stop him from getting Runa and himself out of Dodge, because Dodge isn’t looking like too much fun.

Wraith is a character I connected more with in this installment. The boy has some layers and he is living life a little too carelessly and on the wild side, which will come back and bite him on his smexi demon butt, no doubt.

Eidelon is the word of reason out of the three brothers. I do keep forgetting he is a demon. He has a good heart, as far as being a demon goes.

Wraith doesn’t let me forget he is a demon. That boy has some serious issues at the moment.

I really like Kynan’s character, his life just became a whole lot more complicated and I like the sound of Runa’s brother, Arik.

Gem is another fave character of mine. I love her physical appearance, she rocks the goth look and her blue hair. I would love an artists impression of her. I shall look about and see what's on Deviant Art. Never know.

What I liked about this installment is, by the end of this second book, things have moved considerably along with the direction some of the sub characters are taking and indeedy the series plot.

I’m intrigued to read more, I can see how this series has the ability to turn into The Lords Of Deliverance. If you know that series, then you know where that headed. I went ahead and had a snoop at the first books blurb.

Currently demons share the world with humans, mostly unknown to them. But, there are groups who know about them.

We’ve got The Aegis and now R-XR, aka Raider X Regiment. Things are starting to change and get a lot deeper in this world of demons and humans.

The plot was more fleshed out in this installment. It’s getting quite juicy.

A Demonica book doesn’t come without a good dose of smexi demon romance. Shade and Runa certainly turn up the heat in this installment. They make a great coupling with some surprises and some witty banter between characters.

“And everyone says Wraith is the smartass of the family.”

Shade’s mind screamed. How did this sonofabitch know about Wraith?

“That’s a common misconception. Dickhead.”

I’m looking forward to Passion Unleashed , Demonica # 3.

Bring on my library reservation.

BOOK REVIEW - PLEASURE UNBOUND by LARISSA IONE - DEMONICA # 1 - PARANORMAL ROMANCE - PIATKUS

Details: Paperback From Library, 338 Pages

RATING: 4.5 DEMON STARS

Eidolon cannot resist this fiery, dangerous woman who fills him with both rage and passion. Torn between his need for the truth and his quest to find his perfect mate before a horrific transformation claims him forever, Eidolon will dare the unthinkable-and let Tayla possess him, body and soul . . .

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I was rather surprised how much this book kept evolving with characters and twists.

I really liked it!

I hadn’t read any blurbs or reviews so I wasn’t sure what I was going to be in for. I did obviously get that Black Dagger vibe in the early parts of the book with character names like Wraith, Roag, Shade, Skulk... might as well throw in a normal name like Luc. J

There’s that whole ‘MINE’ thing going on and ‘mate’, but I thought this book really brought some cool new things to the party.

I liked the whole demon theme, although there are vampires mixed into the story and weres. I liked watching the demons and that whole good vs evil that happens with even these creatures. Just like humans.

"That any of us can be less than evil?  Do you not see that sometimes, something goes wrong at conception, and some humans are born evil?  Or they turn evil?"

Eidolon is a doctor, but he is also a demon and he has a hospital called UG, Underworld General. Shade can by touch put patients at ease from pain and Wraith can play with your mind.

Things are hinted at with both Shade and Wraith’s characters for future use in further installments.

Just to tweak our intrigue button.

The first few chapters had me trying to get my story bearings but once I read more this was a really cool read.

Eidolon is a really nice, good demon. He has more of a sense of right than his brothers, Wraith and Shade, when it comes to humans.

Shade, on the other hand, seemed more laid-back, but she wasn't sure it was in a good way. More of an I can kill you and not care less sort of way.

Enter Tayla, a twenty four year old Guardian who works for the Aegis. She is your Buffy type character who enjoys marshmallows and oranges.

We watch Eidolon and Tayla go through the motions of demon vs demon slayer and the inevitable outcome of two opposites attracting.

“I wonder what disgusts you more, the fact that I’m a demon, or the fact that when I touch you, it doesn’t matter.”

The wolf and the rabbit. The predator and the prey.

Aegis hunt down and kill demons.

Eidolon, Wraith and Shade all have a different demon power. Wraith has had it pretty tough in his life and he has a lot of demons he is carrying about.

Pun not really intended.

Wraith stood at the ER entrance, arms crossed, shoulder braced against the sliding glass door. He'd pulled his blond hair back and tied it with a leather thong that matched his jacket, an Indiana Jones replica that suited him, given that his job at UG was to hunt down ancient relics and magical artifacts, often from hazardous locations.

I really like Gem's character.

Gem hooked a leg over the armrest of Eidolon's couch, making the slit in her short leather skirt open over a tattoo of a long stemmed rose on her thigh. Blood dripped from the thorns - Tayla counted three drops along the length of her leg, the last one half-covered by the top of her combat boot. It made her wonder if Gem had more tattoos, or more piercings besides the six in her ear, the one in her eyebrow, and the one in her tongue.

Seeds are dropped for further installments with various sub characters and quite a few twists kept popping up in this book.

I am a lover of twists.

There was only one thing I had pegged fairly early into the book and then that came with a twist.

This was a great read with an eventual Beauty and The Beast vibe coming about. All things were woven together into the story line and then some left for further reads to unveil.

I'm looking forward to reading more in this series.

And let’s not forget Mickey, the ferret
