What I love about this serial J.A. has put together is it is clever, fresh and intriguing... aaannnd very toe curling.

It is different to her past works, quite by deliberate design.

We are only given a small portion of the bigger picture each installment and consistently every two weeks.

Follow - 27th Agust

Like - 10th September

Block - 24th September

Status - 8th October

and so on.

I pre-order them at the low price of .99c. They don’t stay at that price forever. I am a smart purchaser. J

Vaughn shows the reader a deeper side to himself. I really appreciated finding this out early into this serial.

He cares.

He is protective and loyal.

But then his kinky side and playful side comes into the mix and it is quite the toe curler.

Grace is still keeping us in the dark about her past. She is keeping it quite locked up tight because even Vaughn can’t find anything deep on her.

With a serial, each installment is a puzzle piece being released for the bigger picture.

Once you start a serial, you really have to stay committed to finishing it off or you aren’t getting the full story.

Serials intrigue me.

I get addicted to discovering the bigger picture.

I can only write my review based on the puzzle piece I am given. It’s not like reading a full length installment in a series of books, because you are working with small portions that will eventually equal the whole story.

Grace is still showing me she won’t just bend to Vaughn’s requests, but she will be coaxed into making her own decisions which ultimately leads to some bending.

Pun intended.

I understand Vaughn more. He is a cocky lad, but he also has a deeper side that cares for those who are in his inner circle and I got a little surprise.

I liked this.

I do of course love the EOBS = End of Book Shit, that J.A. puts together for her readers to have a bit of a laugh after reading each installment.

I have naturally pre-orderd Block which releases in a couple days and am quite excited to get another puzzle piece to add to my collection, to read.

I take a deep breath.

“Grace?” he asks, a softer tone this time. His breath is heavier, like he’s relaxed. Like he’s jerking off, the cynical person inside me corrects. “I’m ready. I have my hand on my dick and you’re in front of me. What are you doing?”

I take another deep breath and then I swallow. Should I really do this?

“What’re you thinking?” he asks.

“I’m debating,” I tell him truthfully. “On whether or not I should cross this line with you.”

“So letting me fuck you in a tropical forest on Saint Thomas wasn’t crossing a line with me?”

“It was,” I interject. “But that’s different. That was a fantasy fling, this is reality. This is my life, Vaughn. I have a real life and those people on my Twitter feed are friends. You’re playing with my life. You’re…” I shake my head a little. I should not be having this conversation with him. I should not be letting him into my head at all. He’s a fun dream guy in the sex department, but as a real human being, Vaughn Asher is an asshole. I don’t want to go any further in this demented relationship and giving in to his demands right now would be a monumental mistake.

“I’m what?” he asks.

“You’re using me.”

“I’m not using you. I think we both had fun on the island. We can both have fun right now.”

“You’re forcing me to have phone sex with you.”

“I’m not forcing you—Grace, please. If you don’t want to, just hang up and I’ll never call you again. How’s that?”

“But if I do that, you won’t make things right, will you?”

I gulp some air and then look over my shoulder. He’s standing near the concrete pathway, leaning up against a closed concession stand, looking as free and content and in control as any person I’ve ever seen.

And why not? Why shouldn’t he feel that way? He’s beyond rich, he’s beyond beautiful, he’s beyond talented, and he’s so far beyond sexy, I’m powerless to resist his offer and he knows it.

“Say yes,” he commands. “You want to say yes, so just say yes.”

He’s so right about that. I do want to say yes. In fact, I’m a yes girl. I hate telling people no. I really do. But for some reason, this one person who I want to say yes to more than anything else in my entire life has reawakened the no girl inside of me and I’m having difficulty understanding why.

“Say yes right now or I walk away and you never see me again. Because I require your commitment tonight or I’ll just find someone else.”

“I want you,” I say breathlessly, my heart pounding in my chest. God, that was the total wrong move. What the hell am I doing?

“Of course you do.”

“I want you, but I’m not signing that paper tonight. I need to think about it. I need to be sure.”

“Grace, you have one more day left here on Saint Thomas and then you’re gone. So you’re wasting time.”

“Wait, you said you’d punish me when I was ready, implying we had lots of time to figure this out and now you’re in a rush?”

“Yes,” he says matter-of-factly. “I’m in a rush because I want to fuck you, woman. I want to fuck you bad. I’m dying right now because I’m all the way over here and you’re all the way over there, and all I want to be doing is fucking you. But instead I’m having this stupid conversation, convincing you, of all things, to let me pleasure you back if you pleasure me. But if you work out and you meet my needs, I might see you again. “Then no.” I hang up the phone. Oh my God! I did it again! Where the hell are all these no’s coming from?

My phone buzzes in my hand but I ignore it.
