BOOK REVIEW - OBLIVION by JENNIFER L ARMENTROUT - LUX #1.5 - YA PARANORMAL ROMANCE - HODDER BOOKS

By: Jennifer L Armentrout
Published By : Entangled Teen , Hodder
Released : Available Now
Details : paperback from library, 350 Pages

RATING : 4.5 DAEMON STARS!

Blurb : Goodreads

Experience the epic love story of OBSIDIAN as told by its hero, Daemon Black…
I knew the moment Katy Swartz moved in next door, there was going to be trouble. Lots of it.

And trouble’s the last thing I need, since I’m not exactly from around here. My people arrived on Earth from Lux, a planet thirteen billion light years away. Plus, if there’s one thing I know, it’s that humans can’t be trusted. We scare them. We can do things they only dream about, and honestly, we make them look weak as hell. ‘Cuz they are.

But Kat is getting to me in ways no one else has, and I can't stop myself from wanting her—or wanting to use my powers to protect her. She makes me weak, and I’m the strongest of our kind, tasked with protecting us all. So this one simple girl…she can mean the end for us. Because the Luxen have an even bigger enemy—the Arum, and I need to stay on my game.

Falling for Katy—a human—won't just place her in danger. It could get us all killed, and that’s one thing I’ll never let happen...

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I was one of the first bloggers to read Half-Blood in the Covenant series and I just kept on reading and reviewing every book in Jennifer’s Lux and Covenant YA series.

I devoured anything YA from her.

I read Oblivion in paperback format so only got to read Obsidian from Daemon’s POV.

I did enjoy it.

We know the story, so no real surprises but it was wonderful being in his head.

Anybody who has read The Lux series has fallen for Daemon.

We do get some more insight into parts of Obsidian with other characters which I enjoyed.

We understand Daemon’s thinking when it came to Katy a lot more which was cool.

Love this series.

It will always have a special place in my heart.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

Jennifer made hot aliens a YA must when she dreamed up this paranormal series. Readers went mad for Pepe the model on the cover.

I remember when I first got an ARC of Obsidian and I wound up making a book trailer for some giveaway Jennifer was doing. I do still love seeing my blurb inside the front covers. The trailer was made three years ago. This was before all the awesome images surfaced with Pepe and Sztella when they came out for a promo with Jennifer.

I have read this series from ARC to watching Daemon get the girl, with his wit, sarcasm and charm, and it has now come to an end and I will miss them all.

We fell in love with an alien boy named Daemon.

Nobody quite says Kitten, like Daemon.

After five books from meeting the boy next door to an alien apocalyptic war, Jennifer took us on a ride.

Who knew from that first book we were gonna go all apocalyptic by the end?

I didn't.

I have to admit I have a bit of a fascination with Luc, Hunter and Archer.

In a low voice, I asked, “How are you doing?”

Luc shrugged. “You know, I’m doing my thing like a chicken wing.”

My brow arched.

Daemon sounded like he choked. “Did you seriously just say that?”

“I did and I’m cool like that.”

I keep seeing spinoffs in my mind, especially with Luc and Archer. Hunter already got his book.

A fitting end to this series, albeit a reasonably quick epilogue surrounding the future of mankind and the vulnerability to the enemies.

Loved this YA series and highly recommend it.

EXCERPT:

Katy

I still stared at Daemon, completely aware that everyone else except him was watching me. Closely. But why wouldn’t he look at me? A razor-sharp panic clawed at my insides. No. This couldn’t be happening. No way.
My body was moving before I even knew what I was doing.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Dee shake her head and one of the Luxen males step forward, but I was propelled by an inherent need to prove that my worst fears were not coming true.

After all, he’d healed me, but then I thought of what Dee had said, of how Dee had behaved with me. What if Daemon was like her? Turned into something so foreign and cold? He would’ve healed me just to make sure he was okay.

I still didn’t stop.
Please, I thought over and over again. Please. Please. Please. On shaky legs, I crossed the long room, and even though Daemon hadn’t seemed to even acknowledge my existence, I walked right up to him, my hands trembling as I placed them on his chest.

“Daemon?” I whispered, voice thick.

His head whipped around, and he was suddenly staring down at me. Our gazes collided once more, and for a second I saw something so raw, so painful in those beautiful eyes. And then his large hands wrapped around my upper arms. The contact seared through the shirt I wore, branding my skin, and I thought—I expected—that he would pull me against him, that he would embrace me, and even though nothing would be all right, it would be better.

Daemon’s hands spasmed around my arms, and I sucked in an unsteady breath.

His eyes flashed an intense green as he physically lifted me away from him, setting me back down a good foot back.

I stared at him, something deep in my chest cracking. “Daemon?”

He said nothing as he let go, one finger at a time, it seemed, and his hands slid off my arms. He stepped back, returning his attention to the man behind the desk.

“So . . . awkward,” murmured the redhead, smirking.

I was rooted to the spot in which I stood, the sting of rejection burning through my skin, shredding my insides like I was nothing more than papier-mâché.

“I think someone was expecting more of a reunion,” the Luxen male behind the desk said, his voice ringing with amusement. “What do you think, Daemon?”

One shoulder rose in a negligent shrug. “I don’t think anything.”

My mouth opened, but there were no words. His voice, his tone, wasn’t like his sister’s, but like it had been when we first met. He used to speak to me with barely leashed annoyance, where a thin veil of tolerance dripped from every word. The rift in my chest deepened.
For the hundredth time since the Luxen arrived, Sergeant Dasher’s warning came back to me. What side would Daemon and his family stand on? A shudder worked its way down my spine. I wrapped my arms around myself, unable to truly process what had just happened.

“And you?” the man asked. When no one answered, he tried again. “Katy?”

I was forced to look at him, and I wanted to shrink back from his stare. “What?” I was beyond caring that my voice broke on that one word.

The man smiled as he walked around the desk. My gaze flickered over to Daemon as he shifted, drawing the attention of the beautiful redhead. “Were you expecting a more personal greeting?” he asked. “Perhaps something more intimate?”

I had no idea how to answer. I felt like I’d fallen into the rabbit hole, and warnings were firing off left and right. Something primal inside me recognized that I was surrounded by predators.

Completely.

And will they even be together?

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

Things went from bad to craptastic in a matter of seconds.

I am on a Lux high after reading this installment. From the very first page this book took off at the speed of Daemon in his natural form.

The story line glowed as bright as the Luxen in their alien form.

I didn’t want this book to end.

It was told from both Katy and Daemon’s pov’s and I LIKED IT! I loved being in Daemon’s head.

The pages turned.

The sub characters were brilliant.

The smexi scenes... well, let’s just say, Jennifer turned up the heat.

My gaze fell to the box and then went back to him. “Confident, aren’t you?”

“I’d like to call it being prepared for any occasion.”

Rawrrrrr!!!

I laughed.

Why in the world did humans think aliens looked like a whacked-out Gumby?

I felt sad.

In my review for Opal I said how Daemon wouldn’t have sat back like Dawson was made to in Opal. Patience is a virtue and all that rubbish.

I was right!

Daemon was not going to let ANYTHING stand in his way of getting to Katy.

NO SIR!

He has laid his cards on the table and he is all in.

Jennifer throws everything at Daemon and Katy.  Daedalus like to experiment. Some visuals in my head were a bit naassty.

As much as it pains me to say, I was personally left feeling a bit neutral , with Opal # 3, in parts. Yeah, I know a lot of readers gushed, but I thought it was a little less exciting than the other books in the series. But, Origin swooped in and rectified that for me.

It was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.

Just everything about it blew me away.

Daemon was back, he was all loved up bringing a bag full of smart ass comments and he brought his A Game with his love for Katy.

Hunter made a deep noise. “Our little mutual white flag of friendship is going to come to a halt if you tell me to shut up again.”

I spared him a brief glance. “Shut. Up.”

I caught the tear with a kiss. “And I’m not going to let you do this by yourself. You’re my - you’re my everything, Kat.” At the sound of her soft inhale, I smiled again. “Come on, Kitten, did you really expect anything less from me? I love you.”

“Well, aren’t you just a special snowflake,” Daemon murmured.

“That I am.”

Baby, I’m so far up the ladder there aren’t any pegs under me to be knocked down.”

Luc, is such a fave character of mine because he is quirky. He really has his own stand out voice in this book. He has some great lines. He is holding his cards close to his chest.

Luc moved to the center of the floor. “I don’t have all day, guys. I have things to do. A nap I want to take this afternoon. There’s a new movie out on Netflix I want to watch, and a goddamn coupon for a free Whopper Jr. that’s calling my name.”

“Blake is... well, he’s Blake. But before you cast judgment, ask yourself how many people you’d crucify to get Katy back?”

“You’re not the only aliens out there who are butt sore. There are bigger problems than what you guys have. Yeah, I know, hard to believe.”

I glanced over at Hunter, who shrugged again and said, “Someone didn’t get his warm milk this morning.”

“How did you get out, Luc?”

He tilted his head to the side. “You don’t want to know what I did. And you won’t do what I did.”

A cold shiver crawled over my skin. I believed the kid.

“Me and Katy look adorkable in extraterrestrial highway shirts. You would just look stupid.”

Archer, I just love the guy. I keep singing in my head the Martin Gaye song, ‘Let’s get it on,’ when I think of him and another character. Not sure why, lol! Here’s hoping. Me thinks it will happen.

I already know I haven’t truly lived a single day, Katy. All of us know that.

This really was a brilliant installment in the Lux series. The shiz really hit the fan many times and Daemon is just so swoon worthy with his one woman love for Katy.

“I love you, Kitten.” Another deep , scorching kiss lit up my insides. “And I’m going to show you just how much I love you.”

I chuckled. “Good to know, because I’m planning on going everywhere - and taking the scenic route.”

“I want to spend every second, every minute, every hour with you.”Part of me couldn’t believe something that cheesy had come out of my mouth, but it was also so beautifully true. “I want a year’s worth of second’s and minutes from you. I want a decade’s worth of hours, so many that I can’t add them up.”

Daemon will not let ANYTHING stand in his way. He will make decisions that will come with their own bag of shiz but , it had to be done.

I really am still on a high from reading this book. I want Opposition so badly. The ending can be interpreted several ways.

I still have my thoughts on something, I believe Jennifer will drop it on us in Opposition...or not and I am on the wrong sniffer trail.

A can of worms has been opened up and holy mac and cheese, I can’t even begin to see how Jennifer is going to bring this holy mother of pearl series to a conclusion in two books.

“There’s a special place in hell for you people.”

The shiz has well and truly hit the fan.

There really were no words that fit how far Kat’s life had been derailed.

Obsidian, Onyx and Opal were nothing in the shiz stakes compared to what is going down from now on.

Lordy!

This installment turned into a block buster movie with Michael Bay at the helm.

Crap, I have to wait 9 months until Opposition. Now that is gonna hurt.

* face plant *

It will be like waiting for paint to dry.

Queue the elevator music as I wait... and wait...and wait.

Seriously you can’t do this to me Jennifer, it’s not healthy for my heart.

Death-by-waiting-for-a-book-to-be-released, that is what my grave stone will say.

BOOK REVIEW - OPAL by JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT - LUX # 3 - YA PARANORMAL ROMANCE - ENTANGLED PUBLISHING

By: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Published By : Entangled Publishing
Released : Available Now
Details : Paperback from library, 382 Pages

RATING : 4.25 KISS ME STARS!!

Blurb: Goodreads

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I am a HUGE fan of Jennifer’s writing. She does a most awesome job of writing Daemon Black.

Obsidian # 1, we meet the cocky, gorgeous next door neighbour with the best lines. We fall in fictional lurvvveee with him.

Onyx # 2 , Daemon had me in stitches with his jealousy and calling Blake every name but his actual real name. The plot thickens and we are left with an OMG finish.

Cookies!

Opal # 3, for the first half, for me personally was a slower paced read . We are watching a group of characters going through the emotions of losing people close to them and the anger that comes with it.

Katy and Dee made me sad. It was hard for Dee to have lost Adam and hard for Katy to have been a part of the reason why.

Hard on their friendship.

Katy and Daemon are getting interrupted every time they started to get a bit frisky.

Frustrated. Much.

Daemon and Katy were doing a hell of a lot of kissing. I wouldn’t have minded being Katy...in my dreams.

Rawrrr!!

Since I couldn't get my mouth to work between his drugging kisses, I opted to do the show-not-tell-thing, sliding my hands down to his jean-clad hips. Hooking my fingers in the belt hoop, I tugged him against me.
Daemon growled, and my pulse pounded. Yeah, he got it. His hand slid up, fingertips brushing against lace and -

The second half of the book got the pace swinging for me. This group made up of mutateds and Luxen had a plan to rescue Beth and Chris. But, they needed help. Help comes in the form of a teenager named Luc who keeps his secrets close to his heart.

"Is there anything else you can tell me?" Daemon prodded.
"Sure, I have something else." Luc lifted those long lashes. "You really shouldn't trust a soul in this game. Not when everyone has something to gain or lose."

It was hard watching Dawson keeping his shiz together and waiting all those dang longgggg months knowing Beth was going through hell and back every day. He had been there and had the emotional scars to prove it. I felt really bad for Dawson. Every time he wanted to go gung ho and storm the mountain, so to speak, he got held back.

Daemon snatched the yellow packages from my hands. "Oh! Books! You have books!"
I laughed as several people waiting in line looked over their shoulders. "Hand them over."
He clutched them to his chest, making moony eyes. "My life is now complete."

I couldn't help feeling really bad when all the happier stuff was going on around Dawson , while the poor guy had to be stopped from storming the mountain to save the love-of-his-life.

I couldn’t help thinking, Daemon if the shoe was on the other foot, dude you wouldn’t be waiting about going to prom, and being patient.

Daemon Black does not get told what to do.

He does what is necessary.

He would have stormed the mountain for Katy.

Katy has certainly found her inner girl-warrior-power. I keep forgetting she is only a teenager.

Going from shy, book-nerd Katy to something impossible; someone who had changed on more than a cellular level. I no longer saw the world in black and white and deep down I knew I didn't operate on basic social norms anymore.

Like thy shalt not kill or whatever.

Blake was sending out all sorts of mixed signals for me. Including El Creepio.

Can we trust him?

Can ones enemy be a frenemy?

I am left with some questions when it came to some things, like Carissa and the why.

I have indeed cracked open Origin and I can tell you I am busting to finish this review so I can go snuggle up and keep reading as Daemon is in warrior mode and he is coming in swinging.

BAM!

As the quote on the cover states:

He'll burn the world to save her.

I don't doubt that. Daemon is looking a bit fired up on the cover, he is on a mission.

There won’t be any patient waiting about for months on end. Oh no, this lad is fighting for what is his and he is gonna need a hand along the way.

So, back to Luc.

I did ponder whether I should have read Obsession which is in the adult Lux world before Origin, as we have the crossover characters of Hunter and Serena, but I was so excited to get onto Origin that I will come back to Obsession, which is stand alone.

Ok, I am only a couple chapters in, so time for some reading.

Michelle

This is a stand alone novel that is an adult spin-off of the Lux Series You do not need to read a Lux book to read Obsession and vice versa.

Being connected to Daemon Black sucks…

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

“Not in this lifetime, buddy,” I said finally.
“Resistance is futile, Kitten.”
“So is your charm.”
“We’ll see.”
Rolling my eyes, I faced the front of the classroom. Daemon was a total babe, but he was stab-worthy, which at times, zeroed out the babe part. Not always though.

I just finished Shadows the novella and threw myself head first into Onyx. I needed me a full sized serve of Daemon and Katy.

I devoured it in a day and washed it down with some milk.

Jennifer really knows how to write YA humor and give us a guy that has the reader dreaming of cookies and pen poking, and dreaming of blowing up our laptop with the sizzle of an alien kiss.

Yes, Daemon is still pen poking in class. Gotta love a guy who pokes you with his pen.

Gotta love a guy who wants to share his cookie with you.

“Cookie?” he offered, holding a cookie full of chocolate chips.

Upset tummy or not, there was no way I could refuse that. “Sure.”

His lips tipped up one side and he leaned toward me, his mouth inches from mine. “Come and get it.”

Come and get ...? Daemon placed half the cookie between those full, totally kissable lips.

Oh, holy alien babies everywhere...

I second that!

I so love the Katy and Daemon tension and the banter between them and Jennifer gives it to us in bucket loads of memorable quotes.

“What’s wrong with you?”

“I don’t know. I probably got alien cooties.”

“Caving in?” I laughed without feeling. “I just want you out of my face.”

Daemon chuckled deeply. “Keep telling yourself that, Kitten.”

“Keep using your ego steroids.”

He smelled wonderful. Like spice and man. “I don’t want you.”

“Uh, now is not the time to get into that conversation.”

This was just a dream. I sighed, wrapping my arms around his taut waist. “But I do want you.”

Daemon’s arms tightened around me. “I know, Kitten. You aren’t fooling anyone. “

“I saw a lot.”

“Shut up,” I hissed.

“Don’t be embarrassed.” He reached out, tugging on the sleeve of my cardigan. I smacked his hand away. “It’s not like I haven’t seen the upper part before, and I didn’t get a real good look down--“

“Don’t hit, Kitten. It’s not nice.”

“You’re not nice.”

“Humping my leg like a dog in heat every time I’m around you doesn’t prove you like me, Daemon.”

Daemon clamped his mouth shut, and I could tell he was fighting back laughter.

“Actually, that’s how I show people I like them.”

But, what is this Jennifer, you have given Daemon some competition in the form of the newbie student , Blake.

Blake the surfer/blogger. Blake the guy that can talk to Katy about the things she does....like blogging, and not have the mickey taken out of her.

“This is Daemon Black.”

His smile faltered. “Yeah, I know who he is, too.”

Laughing under his breath, Daemon straightened. At his full height, he was a good head taller than Blake. “It’s always nice to meet another fan.”

“Yeah, see, you saying her name alone makes me want to kill you.”

I was laughing out loud at Daemon’s jealousy. Blake really is a thorn in his side. All the name calling was hilarious. Biff, Bilbo, Flake, Bart, Bo...hehe. A jealous Daemon is such fun to watch , but at the same time, rather dead sexy.

He smiled. “It’s all right, Katy. I’ll take you home.

“That won’t be necessary.” Daemon smiled tightly. “I got this, Biff.”

I wanted to face-palm myself. “Blake. His name is Blake, Daemon.”

I did love that scene with Daemon being Katy’s vlog assistant. LOL!

He’s very egotistical and likes to hear his voice, but he’s promised to stay quiet. Right?”

He nodded and smiled angelically for the camera, but his eyes stirred with amusement. Yep, this was a bad idea. “I think reading is sexy.” Daemon smiled to himself.

My brows inched up my forehead. “Do you now?”

“Oh, yes, and you know what else I think is sexy?”He leaned forward so his entire face filled the picture and nodded his head toward me. “Bloggers like this. Hot.”

Dee is just a beautiful character. She is having some playtime in the background.

Daemon is having to swallow all that cranky pants attitude from Obsidian and Shadows, cause the lad is smitten. The quotes that pour from his lips are just dead smexi.

“Because I know.” Daemon appeared in front of me, eyes narrowed. He thumped his hand off his chest, directly over his above his heart. “Because I know what I feel in here. And I’m not the type of person to run from anything, no matter how hard it is.”

“I’m going to get changed,” I said.

“Need help?”

“Wow. You’re so chivalrous, Daemon.”

His smile widened, flashing deep dimples. “Well, the experience would be mutually beneficial. I promise.”

“Kitten,” he said again, voice strained. “You don’t get to do that and then stop. That’s not how it works.”

I stared at him, my breath stalling in my lungs.

“Not when you’re mine.” Daemon backed us up and slid down the wall, pulling me onto his lap so I was straddling him. “And you’re mine.”

“Oh, I still want to strangle you. But I’m insane. You’re crazy. Maybe that’s why. We just make crazy together.”

“Kitten, your mind is a terrible and dirty place.”

A whole new direction opens up in this installment where Jennifer can take the reader. The DOD are getting some real air time and a whole pile of trust issues are popping up.

Danger and death are lurking around each corner for Katy and she is showing us that she can go from a blogger to a kick ass ninja when given the opportunity. I think every blogger would love to be in Katy's shoes, especially with delicious Daemon and his cookies.

I gotta say Jennifer turned up the danger and betrayal in this one.

OMG!

RATING: 4.5 BEAUTIFUL DAWSON & PROTECTIVE DAEMON STARS!

The last thing Dawson Black expected was Bethany Williams. As a Luxen, an alien life form on Earth, human girls are…well, fun. But since the Luxen have to keep their true identities a secret, falling for one would be insane.

Dangerous. Tempting. Undeniable.

Bethany can’t deny the immediate connection between her and Dawson. And even though boys aren’t a complication she wants, she can’t stay away from him. Still, whenever they lock eyes, she’s drawn in.

Captivated. Lured. Loved.

Dawson is keeping a secret that will change her existence...and put her life in jeopardy. But even he can’t stop risking everything for one human girl. Or from a fate that is as unavoidable as love itself.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

Tear my heart up and let the wind take it away.

Awwwww, LOVE Bethany and LOVE Dawson.

I just love reading anything with Jennifer’s name on it. I was lagging behind in the Lux series so I thought I had better get onto Shadows , Onyx and Opal before I crack open Obsession, then Origin.

Gahhh !! I was getting way behind, people in this series.

The minute Bethany Williams crossed Dawson’s path, he was not going to be looking at another girl ever again and he wasn’t going to be able to hide who he was for very long.

Dawson’s feet hit the floor with an audible thump. Holy crap, she was... she was beautiful. And he knew beautiful. Their race had won the genetic roulette when they adopted human forms, but the way this girl’s elfin features were pieced together was absolute perfection.

Holy crap on a cracker. He actually changed in front of her. There were no words.

“I love you, Dawson. I love who you are, what you are. And I don’t think love recognizes differences. It just is. And we really aren’t that different.”

Jennifer has such a great voice for YA. Love her humor and the dialogue.

“You’re always welcome to join in,” Daemon said with a smirk. “Although I doubt you’d enjoy it.”

Vaughn’s face flushed. “You have a smart mouth, Daemon.”

“Better than a dumb one,” Dawson replied. “At least, that’s what I like to say.”

A dry, bitter laugh came from his brother. And then what came next rhymed with suck and ended with duck.

This is the classic line, remembering I had read Obsidian first.

Then Ash twisted toward Daemon, her cheeks flushed. “I can’t believe you’re allowing him to do this. Next thing we know, you’ll be dating a human. Daemon busted out laughing. “Yeah, not going to happen.”

I read Obsidian first as Shadows was released after Obsidian. I really liked seeing Daemon in his protective family mode. He is just so frightened for his two family members.

I got more understanding of Daemon and his behaviour with Katy in Obsidian through this book. Watching what happens to his brother. Watching Dawson fall for a human.

I can see where Mr Cranky Pants gets his attitude from in Obsidian. I’m kinda glad I read Shadows after Obsidian even though it is the prequel novella.

I got more about DOD and felt how dangerous they could be to the Luxen and to a human.

I can’t help it, after reading Obsidian , I just had this feeling that this won’t be the last we see of Bethany and Dawson.

More so after reading Shadows and Daemon not being allowed to see the bodies. I mean why?

That stuck a red flag up for me.

Or is it me wishing?

Nah, I just have this gut feeling that DOD are capable of anything. After all Alien’s are living on a human’s planet, it can’t be that easy, surely?

There has to be something more to DOD.

Dee is still ever so sweet. Such a gorgeous character.

Andrew needs a stinky dead fish slap!

“I guess it’s a good thing, then. A relationship between us would never work.”

His eyes narrowed. “And why is that?”

“Because I’m allergic to assholes.”

I had held off reading Onyx because fellow bloggers told me to wait and read Onyx and Opal together. I feel nervous as to the why? Then I asked them about Opal once it was released and they were like GAHHHHHH!!!! about something, so I am like EEEEeeeEEEEeeee. I am so glad Origin is not far away.

Anyhoo I can't put it off any longer as I am getting way behind on Jennifer's works as she is pumping them out left right and center.

Origin is August 27th so I must keep reading as apparently I read Obsession ( adult genre from Lux world) after Opal, so I am ready for Origin.

I am picking Apollyon ( Covenant series)  up from library tomorrow. Woot!!

A MUST read this novella as you meet such a gorgeous couple and get to see more of the inner workings of Daemon.

DUE FOR RELEASE

OPAL cover reveal is being splashed all over the blogosphere and rightly so as it is an awesome series. If you haven't picked up this series yet, well.......... go do it! It is a hugely popular YA series and of course the beautiful , stunning couple, Pepe and Sztella the Hungarian part time models, grace the covers. You may have seen them about on other book covers. Pepe comes with that perfect mussed hair look.  Yes they are engaged and will make beautiful mini Pepe's and mini Sztella's, oneday. Pepe is also a Hungarian soccer player. See mad soccer skills below:)

Note the creepy Arum dude on the left side of the cover......creeeeepppppyyyyy!!!! I love that little touch to the cover!!!

Blurb:

No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well... There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different... And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.

Together we’re stronger... and they know it.

#daemoninvasion MUSIC MONDAY # 1 - WAX LYRICAL - GIVEAWAY - BOOK CHOICE - OBSIDIAN by JENNIFER L. ARMENTROUT - WHAT SONG DO YOU THINK DESCRIBES A CHARACTER OR THE BOOK? GIVEAWAY!!

MUSIC  MONDAY  WAX  LYRICAL
#1 OBSIDIAN GIVEAWAY

For quite a while now I have been having fun with music in my interviews with authors. Here are some of them :

Aussie Tour Interview with Becca Fitzpatrick

Die For Me by Amy Plum - Character Interview with Jules

Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver

Interview with Kelley York - Hushed

Winter's Light by M.J. Hearle

Musical Interview with Julie Kagawa

Interview with Jus Accardo

Character Interview - Potter from Kiera Hudson series by Tim O'Rourke

Lyrics mean a lot to me. Asking authors musical questions has proven very popular in my interviews with authors/characters. It can infact stump some authors. Julie Kagawa was stumped and we had a competition to unstump her. That was fun!

Cranky shirtless Daemon - scene
I have been tossing about ideas and talking about having a feature on the blog, and I thought to make it easy I would  choose the book and let the readers decide what aspect/relationship they think a song choice best describes it. I am so grateful to the lovely youtubers who make the lyric videos. I get very excited when I find a vid that has lyrics for my interviews.  I love finding out what an author would choose.

Choose a song you think best represents OBSIDIAN in whatever way you think. See some of my interviews and you will get the gist of what I have done when asking authors. I choose single characters, what music would describe them, or the two main characters, the book as a whole, just have fun with it.

I will be holding giveaways most weeks, some bigger than others, it depends what I have here. Could be a book, swag, signed item........

Entry Requirements:

It will be International , unless otherwise stated.
Just use the easy Rafflecopter to enter.
I ask for your musical entry within it.
Only one song entry please per entrant.
For your entry to be valid you must leave a song and don't forget email address in comments please so I can contact winner.
No multiple or electronic entries please.
PLEASE leave your email address in comments to contact winner.

I will put some of the vids up on the posting and you have until the end of the week = Sunday midnight USA time to enter.

As I am on the #daemoninvasion street team, #TeamKittyKat , I thought my first Wax Lyrical would be Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I am in Daemon mode.

First Wax Lyrical Giveaway will be via Book Depository. Check they post to your country before entering please.

1 x Obsidian Paperback - Prize

I love having the music on my postings and sometimes I just listen to my author interview song choices, they have chosen. Great way of getting more in touch with the book and also for those who haven't read the book, it gives them a vibe of what the book is about, or the character.

Either way , music and lyrics are just my way of  'feeling' a book or getting to know a character. Also I can sing along at the top of my lungs...no I can't sing...but who cares:)

GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN!

This is my song choice:
Invaders Must Die by The Prodigy
The Good guys are killing the baddies and the baddies want to kill the good guys.
