TOO HARD TO HANDLE by JULIE ANN WALKER - ADULT SUSPENSE ROMANCE - SOURCEBOOKS

By: Julie Ann Walker
Published By: Sourcebooks
Released: Available Now
Details : Paperback from library, 400 Pages

RATING: 4.5 DAN 'THE MAN' STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

"The Man" is back.

Dan "The Man" Currington is back in fighting form with a mission that takes him four thousand miles south of BKI headquarters, high in the Andes Mountains of Peru. He's hot on the trail of a rogue CIA agent selling classified government secrets to the highest bidder, when Penni DePaul arrives on the scene. Suddenly the stakes are higher, and keeping Penni safe becomes Dan's number one priority.

And this time she's ready.

A lot has changed since former Secret Service Agent Penni DePaul last saw Dan. Now a civilian, she's excited about what the future might hold. But before she can grab onto that future with both hands, she has to tie up some loose ends-namely, Dan Currington, the man she just can't forget. And a secret that's going to change both their lives-if they can stay alive, that is.

BOOK REVIEW:

This is an addictive series for me; I just keep coming back for more.

Dan ‘The Man’ Currington is a great character. He is sexy and good at his job.

When Dagan and Dan team up on a mission to hunt Winterfield down with the ever funny, Chelsea—little does he know—Penni is about to walk back into his life.

Action starts pretty much from the get go: Bullets are flying, sexual tension is flying, banter is flying and they actually do some flying.

Too Hard To Handle is a great addition to the Black Knights Inc series.

BOOK REVIEW - FULL THROTTLE by JULIE ANN WALKER - BLACK KNIGHTS INC # 7 - SOURCEBOOKS - ADULT SUSPENSE ROMANCE

By: Julie Ann Walker
Published By: Sourcebooks
Released: Available Now
Details: Paperback from library, 359 Pages

RATING: 4.25 STEADY STARS!

She Needs a Hero...

Abby Thompson didn’t sign up to be the daughter of the President of the United States. The position was forced on her by the small matter of her birth. Preferring a quiet life of study, she’s content to leave the politics and the international intrigue to her father. Unfortunately, the most powerful man on the planet is sure to make enemies. When a group of armed thugs takes her hostage half a world away, demanding the U.S. government release prisoners in exchange for her safe return, she fears her father’s policy of “not negotiating with terrorists” means she’ll never see the shores of the Potomac again. Luckily, there’s one glimmer of hope. His name is Carlos Soto. And though she abruptly ended things with him years ago, she knows now he’s the only man who can save her…

Black Knights, Inc. to the Rescue...

Carlos “Steady” Soto has taken part in his fair share of dangerous missions working at the covert government defense firm of Black Knights Inc. But nothing prepared him for the emotional rollercoaster he faces when he’s tasked with rescuing the only woman he ever loved—who also broke his heart. Racing against time and outmaneuvering a group of trained terrorists will take everything he’s got. Plus there’s the heat simmering between them which is threatening to ignite into an inferno. While ruthless enemies stalk them, they must learn to trust each other again. Even if they do make it out alive, will Abby turn her back on him…for the second time?

BOOK REVIEW :

I always know when going into another of Julie’s instalments in the Black Knights Inc. series, they are going to be filled with hunky badass men, and the women they have to save. I take these books as they are meant to be taken as a darn good ride where you want to be rescued by somebody like Carlos ‘Steady’ Soto.

Rawrrrrrr.

These are beach reads for me. They are my pick-me-up reads. I charge forth into Julie’s world of suspense and drama.

There will be over the top situations mixed with realistic situations, throw in some misconstrued love dramas and put some sweaty sexy times on top.

Sometimes I think, dude when was the last time you had a shower? I can find myself questioning both of the character’s hygiene when there is oral sex going on.

I’m being realistic folks. What can I say? When the chick has been kidnapped by the JI, on the run through a humid jungle, not been near a bar of soap for a long time and the hero hasn’t either...I am gonna question the downstairs area hygiene when it comes to those kinds of sexy times.

But, lust/love taketh over and everybody gets down and dirty.

Bahahaha.

I’m not going to go over the storyline because you can read the blurb. What I did love was Dan ‘The Man’ got himself a little interested in a filly and we got a glimpse of the spin off guys for the Deep Six series, and I likey.

Ozzzzziiieeee. I will say no more.

This was another hot-man-meat-to-the-rescue read which I totally enjoyed reading.

Up next is Dan’s book and then onto Deep Six series.

BOOK REVIEW - HELL FOR LEATHER by JULIE ANN WALKER - BLACK KNIGHTS INC # 6 - SOURCEBOOKS - ADULT SUSPENSE ROMANCE

By: Julie Ann Walker
Published By: Sourcebooks
Released: Available Now
Details: Paperback from local library, 347 Pages

RATING: 4 MAC & THE CREW STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

Only the most urgent crisis could force Delilah Fairchild to abandon her beloved biker bar and ask the surly Bryan "Mac" McMillan for help. Her uncle—the man who raised her—has vanished into thin air, and Mac is the only person with the right connections to help her find him. What the ex-FBI agent has against her is a mystery...but when the bullets start to fly, Mac is her only chance of finding her uncle alive.

Mac knows that beautiful women can't be trusted, but he has to put his natural wariness of Delilah aside in order to help her. With the clock ticking, Mac and Delilah find themselves holding on to each other in the wildest adventure of their lives.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

We’ve come to Mac and Delilah’s story with a side order of tension between Dagan Zoelner and Agent Chelsea Duvall.

I gotta say I am quite looking forward to Z and Chelsea getting it on. Looks like I might have to wait a bit for their book.

I enjoy all the characters in this series very much. I liked Mac being all broody and sexy but after a while I was a bit over how drawn out Delilah and Mac's HEA became.

I think Mac being the grown man he is and the issue that was keeping him from Delilah, could have been a stronger reason, just my personal thoughts there.

I really like Delilah. I think I would like to be her in the fictional sense. She's a cool chick.

Hehe. I did chuckle and pull a few crazy faces at the descriptive for the sex scenes. Although hot... good lawd some of the wording used...channel, labia (I’ll leave you to Google that one) ...erm...

*looks a little awkies at my book*

Ozzie who I adore gets put back in his place and Ghost has his hands full, which turns all the Black Knights Inc into ... well, you can read that for yourself. I did chuckle out loud at a certain scene with Ghost when he had to make a dash for...

I am addicted to this series. Another good installment in the Black Knights Inc series. I wouldn’t say it was my fave, but I still enjoyed it.

Bring on # 7, Full Throttle, Abby and Steady. J

BORN WILD by JULIE ANN WALKER - BLACK KNIGHTS INC. # 5 - ADULT SUSPENSE ROMANCE - SOURCEBOOKS

By: Julie Ann Walker
Published By: Sourcebooks
Released: Available Now
Details: Paperback from library, 376 Pages

RATING: 4 BILL & MAC STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

She's got three rules:

1. Trust no one… Eve Edens has been abandoned, used, or manipulated by almost everyone she's ever met. Born into ridiculous wealth, she's dealt with the petty jealousies and sordid little resentments for nearly thirty years. But after three botched attempts on her life, she can no longer ignore the truth. Someone wants her dead.

2. Avoid the bad boys at all costs… William "Wild Bill" Reichert, the wonderfully sexy boy who abandoned her years ago, is back in town. Only he's no boy. Now he's a covert operative - and he's all man. When Eve hires Bill to help her discover who is behind the attacks, Bill soon comes to suspect it's someone much closer to Eve than she dares to believe.

3. And never fall for the same ruse twice… The search for the killer takes Bill and Eve deep into the dark secrets and strange world of the rich and famous, and into the heart of red-hot passion re-ignited by the peril that threatens to consume them both. But does Eve dare risk her heart on Bill a second time?

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I always like picking up a Julie Ann Walker read because they are real easy to read.

The lads are ALPHA!!

The lads are HOT!!!

They are not perfect even though their bodies are and they make mistakes with women.

Wild Bill is not the exception.

Billy has his hang ups over Eve and quite rightly so. She did something that in a lot of people’s eyes might seem very hurtful and callous, but when you know Eve’s family background and the fact she was only eighteen, that goes a long way to explaining her behavior.

She did marry a man she shouldn’t have, she did let a lot of years be wasted, but so did Billy. He let it all fester in his soul.

Other parties played their rolls, but bottom line, these two should have gotten their shit together a lot earlier.

Moral of this story is life is too short to hold a grudge when you have somebody gunning for you and wanting you dead.

Seeds are sown for Mac and Delilah. I really like the sound of these two.
Another great read in the Black Knights Inc series, next up is Hell For Leather.

I have my motor running for Mac. ;)

BOOK REVIEW - THRILL RIDE by JULIE ANN WALKER - BLACK KNIGHTS INC. # 4 - ADULT SUSPENSE ROMANCE - SOURCEBOOKS CASABLANCA

By: Julie Ann Walker
Published By: Sourcebooks Casablanca
Released: Available Now
Details: Paperback from library, 344 Pages

RATING: 4.25 ROCK & WILD BILL STARS with a side order of OZZIE!

Blurb: Goodreads

He's Gone Rogue
Ex-Navy SEAL Rock Babineaux’s job is to get information, and he’s one of the best in the business. Until something goes horribly wrong and he’s being hunted by his own government. Even his best friends at the covert special-ops organization Black Knights Inc. aren’t sure they can trust him. He thinks he can outrun them all, but his former partner—a curvy bombshell who knows just how to drive him wild—refuses to cut him loose.

She Won't Back Down

Vanessa Cordova hasn’t been the team’s communication specialist
very long, but she knows how to read people—no way is Rock guilty of murder. And she’ll go to hell and back to help him prove it. Sure, the sexy Cajun has his secrets, but there’s no one in the world she’d rather have by her side in a tight spot. Which is good, because they’re about to get very tight…

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I was quite excited to get straight onto Rock’s book in the Black Knights Inc. series...and also my library loan was overdue.

I am ADDICTED to this easy to read series full of hawt ex Navy SEALS and their women.

Rock caught my attention in Rev It Up.

I wanted to know him more and I did.

He is absolutely gorgeous when he inner monologues and also he pulls at your heart strings.

Vanessa was an interesting character for me as I felt she came across as a lot tougher in Rev It Up, she was a lot less tougher in this one, but I still really liked her.

The things the Black Knights Inc. men will do for one of their own!

Funnily enough, even though Vanessa was less tough than I thought she was in Rev It Up, the jungle scenes were some of my fave in this book. I loved seeing Richard ‘Rock’ Babineaux in action. He is one smart operative.

This book came with a Tarzan moment which is sure to thrill. I was a bit giddy reading it and a Romancing The Stone style ride in the jungle.

This series is just a great escapism of Alpha men doing their thing to protect, and get those pesky villains off their backs.

Next up I have Eve and Wild Bill in Born Wild.

Yehaaa.

Looking forward to reading. Now I must return this book as I am holding up the next person who is probably hopping mad I am ten days overdue.

Ooops!

BOOK REVIEW - REV IT UP by JULIE ANN WALKER - BLACK KNIGHTS INC # 3 - SOURCEBOOKS CASABLANCA - ADULT SUSPENSE ROMANCE

By: Julie Ann Walker
Published By: Sourcebooks Casablanca
Released: Available Now
Details: Paperback from library, 321 Pages

RATING: 4.25 JAKE STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

He's the heartbreaker she left behind...

He Never Misses a Target

Jake "the Snake" Sommers earned his SEAL code name by striking quickly and quietly—and with lethal force. That's also how he broke Michelle Carter's heart. It was the only way to keep her safe—from himself. Four long years later, Jake is determined to get a second chance. But to steal back into Michelle's loving arms, Jake is going to have to prove he can take things slow. Real slow...

She Aims to Make Him Beg

Michelle Carter has never forgiven Jake for being so cliché as to "love her and leave her." But when her brother, head of the Black Knights elite ops agency, ticks off the wrong mobster, she must do the unimaginable: place her life in Jake's hands. No matter what they call him, this man is far from cold-blooded. And once he's wrapped around her heart, he'll never let her go...

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I’m getting quite addicted to this series. The writing is very easy to read and for me this series is turning into a delicious hot-man-fest with a bit of action and love wins over the girl.

Jake ‘the Snake’ Sommers is said hot man, even if he dresses a bit in his down time like Magnum PI in his Hawaiian shirt enjoying a beer with his fellow hot man friends.

UNTIL!!

Assassins are lurking.

Woman and child needs guarding.

Secrets are revealed.

Love conquers all.

I have to say one scene in this book...the Columbian Neck Tie...oh that was not a good visual in my head.

GAH!

I don’t think I am ever gonna forget that scene.

Hell bent on vengeance villains and a bunch of lads you simply have to read more about is what makes up this series and I keep on coming back for more.

BOOK REVIEW - IN RIDES TROUBLE by JULIE ANN WALKER - BLACK KNIGHT INCS. # 2 - SOURCEBOOKS CASABLANCA - ADULT SUSPENSE ROMANCE

By: Julie Ann Walker
Published By: Sourcebooks Casablanca
Released: Available Now
Details: Paperback from library , 311 Pages

RATING: 4.5 FRANK & ANGEL STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

Rebel with a Cause

Becky "Rebel" Reichert never actually goes looking for trouble. It just has a tendency to find her. Like the day Frank Knight showed up at her door, wanting to use her motorcycle shop as a cover for his elite special ops team. But Becky prides herself on being able to hang with the big boys-she can weld, drive, and shoot just as well as any of them.

Man with a Mission

Munitions, missiles, and mayhem are Frank's way of life. The last thing the ex-SEAL wants is for one brash blonde to come within fifty feet of anything that goes boom. Yet it's just his rotten luck when she ends up in a hostage situation at sea. Come hell or high water, he will get her back-whether she says she needs him or not.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I am gonna say it, this was soooo much better for me than Hell on Wheels. I enjoyed Hell on Wheels but In Rides Trouble was such a turn-around in the writing and plot.

I knew I was going to like Becky and Frank together.

Frank is so rawrrrr and Becky is a strong female lead. I loved where this story went and Julie still kept that easy read feel about it.

You have a bunch of Special Ops lads and the situations they get themselves into or out of, who are all so endearing .

I love a read like this as it is such an easy read and you want to escape into their lives.

I want to be Becky. She is a great female character. I can hear the music pumping loud inside the workshop as Becky works on the bikes.

I still love Ozzie.

Angel came more into the foreground in this instalment and I really enjoyed reading him.

Becky is one lucky girl living with these lads.

I am so looking forward to reading more in this series.

BOOK REVIEW - HELL ON WHEELS by JULIE ANN WALKER - BLACK KNIGHTS INC. # 1 - SOURCEBOOKS - ADULT SUSPENSE ROMANCE

By: Julie Anne Walker
Published By: Sourcebooks
Released : Available Now
Details: Borrowed as digital from local library, 349 Pages

RATING : 3.25 BLACK KNIGHT STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads
Black Knights Inc.--Behind the facade of their tricked-out motorcycle shop is an elite special ops team assigned the jobs too hot for anyone else to handle.

Hold On Tight...

Ex-Marine Nate "Ghost" Weller is an expert at keeping his cool--and his distance--which makes him one hell of a sniper. It's also how he keeps his feelings for Ali Morgan in check. Sweet, sexy Ali has always revved his engine, but she's his best friend's baby sister...and totally off limits.

Rough Road Ahead

Ali's never seen anything sexier than Nate Weller straddling his custom Harley--or the flash of danger in his eyes when she tells him she's in trouble. First something happened to her brother, and now she's become the target of a nasty international organization. With Nate, her life is in the most capable hands possible--but her heart is another story altogether.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I love the covers of this series. I do love Special Ops lads and all the danger from my safe arm chair.

This was a good start to this series. I did find some of the dialogue a tad cheesy, but that is ok. Writers have different styles and Julie was consistent throughout this book.

J.R. Ward knows how to pull off that guy talk that her warrior lads do. If you know BDB aka Black Dagger Brotherhood, you know what I am talking about. It felt like Julie was trying to emulate that in this book and it didn’t quite work for me, personally.

I need to read more in this series to see how all that pans out.

Nate and Alisa, what can I say. I love the sound of Nate and I really felt overwhelmingly bad for him at one stage, but I did kinda giggle at them. Alisa was a bit too cheesy for me at times. I did laugh at her ‘erp’ moments.

I had to laugh, a bullet wound has got to hurt, but a nookie with a bullet wound. Come on Alisa, you weren’t really thinking about the poor guy and his pain. LOL!

“Are you in a lot of pain?” she asked as she eyed the gauze bandages, checking to see if he was bleeding through. He wasn’t thank goodness.

“A bit,” he shrugged his good shoulder. “But it’s really just a flesh wound.”

“’A flesh wound? You’re bloody arm’s off’” Okay, so her British accent could use some work...

...”So...” she made a helpless little gesture with her hands, “why? Why can’t we give in and scratch the itch?”

Frank and Becky sound a more convincing couple for me. She has a backbone and brains. They just have to make it to the ‘couple’ stage. That should be fun to read in # 2, In Rides Trouble. I am sure she will have some Dum Dum’s for Frank to suck on.

Ozzie. I LOVE Ozzie. He is funny and intelligent and mischievous and he likes to sing. I am a very , very bad singer, but I like to sing too.

Dan and Patti, although we don’t get a lot about their characters, Julie hits us hard.

The amount of story lines going on made for a bit of a distraction from the main characters. I know we were getting introduced to everyone, but I thought we got too much away from Alisa’s story and Grigg. It could have been tighter without everything else going on.

I did laugh at Alisa’s comment in chapter 13.

Turning just in time to see a black shadow stumble backward into her parents’ side yard --Hey , that looks a lot like my mugger!

Dagan is on the scene and finds the body of the ‘mugger’ and has to lift the ski mask. So how did Alisa come to that deduction? Do all guys in ski masks look like her mugger?

He used his penlight to lift Stinky’s ski mask and ...

Corrupt politician, CIA, Black Knights and a damsel in need, throw in some tough moments that made for a quick read. I love the whole concept with the biker shop cover. I have read that before, but I do like the sound of these guys and I want to see where Julie takes me.

Kudos for a good start to this series.
