BOOK REVIEW by Michelle :
Kiss of Frost , book 2 in the Mythos Academy introduces us to another villain, apart from Loki, the Norse Trickster Chaos God, who is using his minions ( villains per book ) to slowly free him from captivity so he can RULE THE WORLD ....* hands on hips in power stance* ‘mwah ha ha ha haaaaaaa!’
*takes a deep breath*
Dang, I am still having trouble personally connecting with this story and lead characters. I’m missing the feeling I should get from two lead characters who you know are lurvin’ each other, or atleast a bit gooy eyed for each other. Logan shows it by being all over Savannah?? Bad Logan!
We get to know Oliver Hector more and see what little secret he is trying to hide even though most of the students know. Kenzie Tanaka, Oliver and Logan are in charge of training Gwen in weaponry. Oliver is more about verbal slanging matches with Gwen, the boy is a bit toey.
A mysterious black SUV has decided to want to direct its wheels towards Gwen , archery practice has apparently commenced in the library aimed at Gwen’s head, and a few other things crop up forcing Gwen to take her survival seriously.
Daphne and Carson are still, this uber cute couple. I totally ‘feel’ these two. Daphne, ex mean girl ,now Gwen’s bff, and Band Geek Carson , these two need a novella, they are so stinking cute.
Vic, he was present but I would have loved him to have been used more as he is such a smart mouth. He makes me laugh J
I found this book spent a lot of pages recapping the previous book in detail. I wanted to move on, get past the recapping. Pave the way for kicking Savannah’s butt, as she is a mean girl and getting Logan to shake it up a bit, after all he is the Academy Lothario.
Logan is hiding a painful secret, well, most of the characters were holing up a secret or two in their closet. I see such enormous potential for this series with what Jennifer has chosen as the theme. I think I may possibly be too old for this YA series * slaps hand over mouth*.
It does rate well and gets favourable reviews so it must be me. Shock. Horror. I totally love YA genre. I shall be moving on to Dark Frost # 3 and Crimson Frost # 4 ( releases December 2012)
I have to say how much I do LOVE the cover art on this whole series. It really is eye catching.
