Young author extraordinaire, Stefan Bachmann, has embarked on his worldwide blog tour with his book The Peculiar.
As we have quite a number of followers in places such as Malaysia and the Philippines....I thought I'd post and let you all know that the tour is happening now PLUS there is a great giveaway happening during the tour.

Thanks to HarperCollins for the review copy. I will be posting my review, plus a little extra, in a week or two!  In the meantime, check out a bit about Stefan and The Peculiar !

Stefan Bachmann was born in Colorado and now lives with his family in Zurich, Switzerland, where he attends the Zurich Conservatory. He began writing The Peculiar in 2010, when he was sixteen years old. Stefan was homeschooled for most of primary school; he graduated from high school in 2010. He started classes at the Zurich Conservatory in 2004, became a junior student in 2008, and was admitted into the young talent program in 2009. Stefan plays the organ, piano, violin, recorder, and harmonica, and he is studying composition. His hobbies include writing words, writing music, practicing instruments, reading books, watching movies, scouring iTunes for melancholy pop tunes, and lying on sofas and blabbering to friends. He is very interested in English folklore, which he thinks probably inspired him to write The Peculiar.

Trivia:   Stefan Bachmann composed the music to the trailer!

Bartholomew Kettle won’t live long. Changelings never do. The child of a human mother and a faery father, he is despised by both his races. But one day Bartholomew suddenly finds himself at the center of a web of intrigue and danger that spans the entire country. A powerful figure sits in the shadows, pushing the pieces in place for some terrible victory. Something is coming for Bartholomew. But when you’re a changeling, there’s nowhere to run.

“Bachmann’s prose is beautiful, and his story is swift, strong, and entertaining. Highly recommended. I can’t wait to see what Bachmann writes next.”
   — CHRISTOPHER PAOLINI, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Eragon (The Inheritance Cycle)

“Stefan Bachmann’s sparkling debut is sure to get a lot of well-deserved notice. He breathes fresh life into ancient magic.”
   — RICK RIORDAN, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Kane Chronicles and Percy Jackson and The Olympians

“Polished and fun to read…Bachmann’s steampunk fairy tale…recalls Dostoevsky, Dickens, and more recent classics, such as J. K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.…Bachmann leavens the dark goings-on with whimsy…in spectacular and hilarious fashion.…[An] unusually gifted young writer.”
