By: Kylie Scott
Published By: Pan Macmillan

Details: Paperback from publisher for honest review, 258 Pages

RATING: 5 DEEP BEN STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

Don't miss a beat
with the fourth and final novel in theUSA Today bestselling Stage Dive series from Kylie Scott.

Positive. With two little lines on a pregnancy test, everything in Lizzy Rollins' ordinary life is about to change forever. And all because of one big mistake in Vegas with Ben Nicholson, the irresistibly sexy bass player for Stage Dive. So what if Ben's the only man she's ever met who can make her feel completely safe, cherished, and out of control with desire at the same time? Lizzy knows the gorgeous rock star isn't looking for anything more permanent than a good time, no matter how much she wishes differently.

Ben knows Lizzy is off limits. Completely and utterly. She's his best friend's little sister now, and no matter how hot the chemistry is between them, no matter how sweet and sexy she is, he's not going to go there. But when Ben is forced to keep the one girl he's always had a weakness for out of trouble in Sin City, he quickly learns that what happens in Vegas, doesn't always stay there. Now he and Lizzie are connected in the deepest way possible... but will it lead to a connection of the heart?

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

It seemed like only the other day I was reading Lick on Netgalley with the original cover ( which caught my attention) ...fast forward and book four is done and dusted.

I will say my fave character is Mal because he's so much fun and hilarity abounds. He has his way of looking at his Anne and expressing himself.

Ben is a character I felt was more realistic to a real band member in a real band. Sure he was a bit of a jackass, but he was driven, he had his music and lifestyle and let’s face it a lot of band members in bands around the world get tempted by the lifestyle presented to them for their enjoyment every day whether they have a girlfriend or wife, or not.

Music means so much to them, it’s almost the air they breathe.

Lizzy was pregnant.

Ben is the father.

Shit got real.

I enjoyed Lizzy’s banter regarding her ever blossoming belly and what comes with carrying a bub in the caboose.

When Ben had his smexy on...oooweee, he is delicious, but when Ben is being totally dedicated to his music...then this was a problem for Lizzy.

I loved she didn’t expect the world from him, she just wanted to be important enough.

All the other band members had found their lady and didn’t fight it like Ben did and that’s what I liked about Deep.

Ben was deeper into his music because the other lads, although they were in love, they were still making time for everything because balance is needed to keep a relationship sustained.

Mal still has his music but he has Killer and Anne. Jimmy has Lena and things are changing for them too and David has his Ev but they are still a band.

Oh and now let’s talk about Vaughn. I think I am in love already.

Welcome Vaughn. J

Q & A WITH KYLIE SCOTT

Michelle: What 5 words describe Kylie Scott, author?

Kylie: Family. Words. Music. Coffee. Sleep.

Michelle: What is the average day like for Kylie Scott?

Kylie: Get the kids up and off to school then settle down to work until they come home at 3:30pm.

Michelle: The Stage Dive series has taken the reading world by storm. What surprised you the most about your readers when it came to your series?

Kylie: The love for the series. That the books had tapped into something and gave readers a positive experience. It’s humbling.

Michelle: David started it all for you in Lick. What is a little known fact about David that you could share with us?

Kylie: Hmm, I don’t know. He’s an introvert who’s learnt to be comfortable in a crowd. I don’t think he likes chocolate.

Michelle:  Mal is one of your most loved characters. I have three questions for Mal if he is available.

Michelle: Hey Mal, what song would you choose for Anne that symbolises your love for her and why?

Mal: Anything by Liberace. Man, when that dude sang stuff, he meant it.

Michelle: What dessert do you think best describes Anne and why?

Mal: Bombe Alaska. So creamy and exciting. Except she said I’m not allowed to play with matches any more.

Michelle:
If you could profess your love for Anne in the most creative way, what would you say and how would you show her?

Mal: I like to write my name in whipped cream on her belly. She made me stop doing it on her forehead when she got some in her eye once.

Michelle: If you had to describe the Stage Dive series in a nutshell to a person on the street, how would you explain it to them?

Kylie: Rich, famous musicians seek women who are not impressed by them.

Michelle:  You’ve introduced Vaughn into the mix of characters. What five words describe Vaughn the best?

Kylie: Ginger. Tattoos. Music. Lost. Family.

Michelle: Are you a people watcher when you are out and about? Have you ever found somebody that was interesting enough to write into your books?

Kylie: I do like people watching. I can’t recall an actual instance of someone who made it onto the pages, but I’m sure it’s happened subconsciously. Mostly, I just like soaking up the atmosphere of a place.

Michelle:  Have you written any of yourself into any of your characters and who?

Kylie: I think it’s impossible not to write parts of yourself into your characters. They’re reflections of your human experience to a certain degree.

Michelle: Is there anything exclusive you can drop for us today? A quote from your next book or tell us a bit about your next project?

Kylie:  It’s about the other end of the music business when everything goes bust and you have to go home and re-define your life. Deal with the family and friends you’ve put on hold for the last eight years while you chased your dream.

Michelle: What words of wisdom do you have for budding writers based on what you have learned?

Kylie: Get over your fear of criticism. Feedback is how you learn.

Michelle: Whether we are readers or writers we all have authors that rock our casbah. Which author rocks yours and why?

Kylie: Kristen Ashley is my soul food. Her books just do it for me.

Michelle: This is a fun question to finish off with. Ask a family member what song they think would best describe you?

Kylie: Son says “Everything is AWESOME”. Of course, he’s a Lego fanatic.

Michelle: Thank you Kylie and Mal for answering my Q & A’s.

Kylie: Thank you!

BOOK REVIEW - LEAD by KYLIE SCOTT - STAGE DIVE # 3 - ADULT CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE - PAN MACMILLAN

By: Kylie Scott
Published By:  Pan Macmillan
Released : Available Now
Details: Paperback from publisher for honest review, 368 Pages

RATING: 5 SMEXI LAD STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

Stay up all night with the sexy rockers in Stage Dive, the epic rock star romance series from New York Times bestselling author Kylie Scott, author of Lick and Play.

Lena is the only thing holding Jimmy back from total annihilation. But who will save her from him?

Lena Morrissey has had some lousy jobs in her time, but none of them compare to being the personal assistant to one of the rock world's biggest - and most egotistical - stars. As the lead singer of Stage Dive, Jimmy is used to having whatever he wants, whenever he wants it. But after a PR disaster landed him in rehab, it's Lena's job to keep him on the straight and narrow.

Lena's not willing to take any crap from the sexy rocker and is determined to keep their relationship completely professional, despite their sizzling chemistry.

But in the end, Jimmy always gets his way...

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I always look forward to reading a Stage Dive installment.

They’d be David and Jimmy Ferris, the brothers. Ben Nicholson, the bass player, and largest of them all was stretched out, hands behind his head, fast asleep. Kudos to him. Not a bad method of getting through a meeting.

Mal gave me a finger wave. “Lena Morrissey, huh?”

“Yes.”

“I like you. You’re funny.”

Kylie never disappoints me.

Mal.

Mal.

Mal.

Whether you are in the limelight or playing the sub character role, you are THE FUNNIEST guy I can think of in new adult contemporary romance.

You tickle my funny bone every time you open your mouth and speak.

I look forward to the Mal Moments.

“Interesting. I’m going to tell you what I told Killer, at puppy training today when he tried to mount a teacup poodle he’d only just met. If she means something to you, you gotta do the woo, son. You can’t just be trying to stick it in.”

4.00am in the morning and I am giggling my head off.

Lena was the real turn around character for me, because the impression I got of her in the previous installments was she was a little stand offish. She surprised me with her inner monologue. I really liked her. She has a handle on Jimmy and that is why he likes having her around. She is the calm in his storm.

But, Jimmy is Jimmy and the lad has issues he’s still working out.

The man was beautiful in much the same way as the stars. I could only look upon him with longing, he was so far out of my reach. Still, moments like these are meant to be momentous. Fate shifting beneath your feet should feel big. But instead of mood lighting and dramatic music, I got a cranky cold blue stare from a guy in a razor sharp suit. Dark hair fell over his face and collar, framing the cheekbones of an angel but the jaw of a stubborn child. Every other discernible inch of him appeared to be fully grown male. The way he held his jaw, however...well.

And the man might be pretty, but he sure as hell wasn’t nice. I’d met enough not-nice men to know. Trust me to find him attractive.

Whatever else he might be, Jimmy Ferris was special and complicated, beautiful and beastly, all rolled into one. A natural born performer.

Around me, dinner conversation went on. None of it fascinated me half as much as Jimmy. He was such a dichotomy of good and evil, beautiful and bad.

I was thinking of Tina Turner’s, ‘What’s Love Got To Do With It,’ when I was thinking of Jimmy. I think the lyrics suit Jimmy and Lena’s initial relationship and his walls he has up.

I liked watching the play off’s Lena and Jimmy had.

“Fuck’s sake. Is it not enough that I make sure your favorite chocolate cream pie is in the fridge at this time of the month?”

Then when the band members got involved. Bahahahaaa.

“She’s not my only friend.” Color rose in Jimmy’s cheeks.

“Quiet, Jimmy,” ordered Mal. “The adults are talking.”

To be honest I would have loved some Jimmy pov. I would have loved to be in his head.

The Stage Dive series for me is all about entertainment and Kylie gives it to me in buckets. Mal is her secret weapon, I have no doubt about that.

I am looking forward to Deep, because Benny boy is still a bit of an enigma for me. Did I see a seed dropped in this installment?

I highly recommend this new adult contemporary series, it is filled with lads you want to dream about.

Excerpt

His laughter, it didn’t really sound the smallest bit amused. “Christ. You’re done here.”

“Ah, no. I’m actually not. Now see, this is where we have a problem.” I folded my arms. Then unfolded them because like fuck I’d look defensive. He was the one in the wrong, not me. “You’re not prepared to take me, or my feelings, seriously. What you want is to hide away in Mr. Too Cool for Commitment land and just play with my affections when it suits you. Okay, I’ve accepted that. But none of that means it’s okay for you to come in here and act like you’re the boss of me. None of it.”

“That so?” he asked, leaning down so that we were almost nose to nose.

“That’s so, baby.” I play-punched him in the shoulder, which it should be noted, I barely came up to. Okay, so maybe the alcohol on a mostly empty stomach had made me slightly/lots braver/sillier. “So why don’t you take your little caveman jealous tantrum bullshit somewhere else. See, I do this funny thing I like to refer to as whatever the fuck I want. Understand?”

He just stared.

“And as pretty as you are with your beard and your muscles, you are too damn tricky and . . . complicated and shit for me.”

“I am?”

“Yes, you are. Are you finally seeing my point here?”

“You bet.”

“Excellent. So take your hotness elsewhere, kind sir. I want no part of it!” Huh. I had so told him. Drunken bravado was the best.

Excerpt

“Lena, you seen my old black Led Zep shirt?”

“Nope.”

“You sure?” His brows became one dark cranky line. The scratches on his face were healing well, thank goodness. Though it didn’t reduce my desire to throttle his mother on a daily basis.

“Yes. I haven’t seen it.”

Can’t find it anywhere…”

“And this is a surprise, how?” I slipped my hands into my back jean’s pockets. “Jimmy, you own more clothing than Cher, Brittney, and Elvis, put together. Things are bound to go missing.”

“Sure you haven’t seen it?”

“For goodness sake, what do you think, Jimmy? That I stole it to sleep in or something?” I laughed bitterly. Sure as hell, the truth deserved a good mocking. I’d sunk so despicably low.

I hadn’t even meant to steal the stupid thing, but the shirt had been mixed up with my laundry a few days ago. It’d been the first top I laid my hand on after stepping out of the shower, ready to go to bed. Without thought, I’d put it on and it’d been so soft, the scent of him lingering beneath the laundry detergent. Every night since, I’d found myself in it come bedtime. My shame knew no limits. And no, I still hadn’t quit. The words still hadn’t come even close to leaving my mouth.

He frowned. “No.”

“That I have some deep secret longing to feel close to you resulting in my stealing your shirt like some creepy perv?”

“Course I don’t fucking think that,” he replied crankily, reaching up to grip the top of the doorframe. All of his bulging muscles stretched the arms of his white T-shirt in the nicest way. It was all I could do not to start drooling, my heart beat taking up residence somewhere down between my thighs. And who could blame it? Not me. Maybe if I got laid, this would go away and things would return to normal. It’d seemed safer to avoid rubbing up against any men just in case I got carried away and started dating again. This new situation, however, changed everything.

“Well, of course not! That would be crazy.” And wasn’t that the god’s honest truth? Cray-zeee. Lock me up and throw away the key because it wasn’t like I didn’t know better.

“Just can’t figure out where the hell it could be.”

Angels couldn’t have smiled as innocently. They might have tried, but they would have failed, the dirty-mouthed, winged, little liars. “Jimmy, I don’t know where it is. But I’ll look around for it later, okay?”

“Yeah,” he said, and then added as an afterthought, “and stop looking at me weird.”

“I’m not!”

BOOK REVIEW - PLAY by KYLIE SCOTT - STAGE DIVE # 2 - NEW ADULT CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE - PAN MACMILLAN AUST

By: Kylie Scott
Published By: Pan Macmillan Aust
Released : Available Now
Details: Kindle copy for honest review, 304 Pages

RATING: 5 HILARIOUS MAL STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

Kylie Scott returns with the highly anticipated follow-up to international bestseller Lick.

Mal Ericson, drummer for the world famous rock band Stage Dive, needs to clean up his image fast—at least for a little while. Having a good girl on his arm should do the job just fine. Mal doesn’t plan on this temporary fix becoming permanent, but he didn’t count on finding the one right girl. Anne Rollins never thought she’d ever meet the rock god who plastered her teenage bedroom walls—especially not under these circumstances. Anne has money problems. Big ones. But being paid to play the pretend girlfriend to a wild life-of-the-party drummer couldn’t end well. No matter how hot he is. Or could it?

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

“Lifes a song, Anne.

Let’s play.”

I had such a great time reading Mal’s book, Kylie had me actually snorting and giggling in bed with laughter. Mal’s voice is as endearing as it is down right hilarious.

I kept trying to think who he reminded me of, with his humor. It hit me. When Mal is switched on, in playful mode, to me, he feels like he is channeling, Russell Brand. Now obviously I am not talking about looks, but in humor.

Some fans like this chappy for Mal inspiration.

It’s just something I could hear when Mal said some of his more hilarious dialogue and he was really in MAL-MODE.

“I’ll sleep with Anne.”

“No, you won’t.”

“Yes, I will.” He raised a hand high. “For I am, Malcolm, Lord of the Sex!”

“So, I’ve given this absolutely no thought and decided that you need boundaries, Anne. Boundaries. Are. Your. Friends.” Each word was punctuated with his finger tapping the tip of my nose.

“God damn it,” swore David. “He just fucking bit me.”

“My love shall not be silenced!”

I really like Anne. Mal is so good for her. It is a quick start to their fake relationship thing, but I so enjoy the humor that Kylie injected into Mal.

This book is just smile-medicine. You can’t help but grin and laugh out loud.

Especially at Mal’s texts and a certain bed breaking scene.

Sometimes he doesn’t feel like he is twenty seven years old, because he is this bouncy puppy. Then when the wall he has built drops, then you see the twenty seven year old.

Mal is very youthful in personality. He is infectious.

It is inevitable that Mal and Anne will become more than what they set out to be.

“Liar,” he taunted in a soft voice. “You’re totally thinking of me with no pants on.”

I totally was.

“That’s just gross, dude. A massive invasion of my privacy.” He leaned in closer, his breath warming my ear. “Whatever you’re imagining, it’s bigger.”

“There we go,” he said, not taking his eyes off me. “She doesn’t do it for you or Davie though. Only I get crazy eyes. Because I’m special.”

“Anne, are you trying to make me jealous? You wouldn’t like me when I’m jealous!” The drunken lunatic roared and started pounding on his chest like King Kong or the Hulk or whatever the hell he was trying to be.

I loved watching these two discover that they wanted more from each other. Mal knows how to be a caveman when he wants to be, or feels threatened by another, but he generally used humor to get what he wanted.

I feel like fucking. Let’s re-negotiate. This agreement is no longer working for me. I wanna talk to my lawyer!”

“Oh, you feel like fucking?”

“Well, yeah. I’m not used to going more than a day or two. It’s making me antsy.” He did a little jig on the spot to demonstrate. “I don’t like it. C’mon, Anne. Help a friend out, yeah? It’ll be good.”

“Ooh, she’s shiny.”

“Why don’t you go ask her what her name is?” suggested Ben, patting him on the back.

“Do I need to know her name?”

“I’ve heard it helps.”

“Maybe for you,” Mal scoffed. “I just call out my own name during sex.”

Mal can definitely make a girl purrrr. He can make the readers toes curl too. When Mal is in smexi mode...whahhhhh!!

I did laugh at the following quote, because it was so me. I have trouble with jars. Mal got that spot on!

“And you know I’m a fucking delight to have around. People don’t always get that about me. Plus, I’ll open jars and lift heavy shit. I hear those are issues for women.” He bounced around the room. Good god, this man had energy to spare like he snorted sugar.

I felt Anne and I had a lot in common. Especially this quote. HA!

My hands were clammy, sticky with sweat. Honestly, put me in a stressful situation and I could rival a rhino for perspiration issues. Assuming rhino’s had perspiration issues.

Of course when a character like Mal is continuously up and loaded on funnies, there is always a time when the reader will find out more of what is really going on underneath the funnies.

“I’m missing a beat, Anne. I can feel it. Shit ain’t right.”

I couldn't help voicing out loud an awwwww when Mal said that ! I just wanted to give him a cuddle. The thing with Mal is under all the humor he is being very honest with his thoughts and feelings. He just masks how deep he feels with humor... or...the bottle.

I gave this book five stars because I laughed and I felt connected to Mal and Anne and the sub characters. I laughed hard. Mal is a most loveable, pretty, smexi character who has such a deep heart. I loved him calling Ev, child bride in Lick and I love him calling Anne, pumpkin, in Play.

He is a book boyfriend that will keep his book girlfriend laughing into old age.
