BOOK COVER REVEAL - PASSION by LAUREN KATE - FALLEN SERIES # 3

Before Luce and Daniel met at Sword & Cross and fought immortals at Shoreline, they lived many lives. . . .

I personally am looking forward eagerly to where Lauren takes us with 'Passion'. What a beautiful cover.
'Torment' left me thinking that the story of Luce and Daniel was only just warming up.......

'Passion' due for release 14th June 2011

(I have taken Lauren Kate's comment below from Goodreads. The link is shown).

When I started writing Passion, I knew the series was bursting into some very exciting uncharted territory. This chase backwards through time, with each chapter set in a different country and a different century across five thousand years is undoubtedly the most romantic, most intense, most…passionate book I've ever written–and I think you'll agree it has the cover to match. I love the dramatic bursts of color, the intensity and desolation of the backdrop, and of course, the dress. It's also the perfect book to show just a hint of Luce's face. I am counting down the days until I can share the book with you, but in the meantime, I hope you love the cover as much as I do.

BOOK REVIEW - FALLEN by LAUREN KATE - FALLEN SERIES #1

By: Lauren Kate
Published By : Doubleday
Released : Available Now
Details: Paperback, 452 Pages

RATING: 4 DANIEL STARS!!!!

There’s something achingly familiar about Daniel Grigori.

Mysterious and aloof, he captures Luce Price’s attention from the moment she sees him on her first day at the Sword & Cross boarding school in sultry Savannah, Georgia. He’s the one bright spot in a place where cell phones are forbidden, the other students are all screw-ups, and security cameras watch every move.

Even though Daniel wants nothing to do with Luce–and goes out of his way to make that very clear–she can’t let it go. Drawn to him like a moth to a flame, she has to find out what Daniel is so desperate to keep secret . . . even if it kills her.

Luce wiped away a mound of wet, decaying leaves, but just before she sat down, she noticed another dress code violation.
A very attractive dress code violation.
He wore a bright red scarf around his neck. It was far from cold outside, but he had on a black leather motorcycle jacket over his black sweater, too. Maybe it was because his was the only spot of color on the quad, but he was all that Luce could look at...........She took in his deep golden hair and matching tan. His high cheekbones, the dark sunglasses that covered his eyes, the soft shape of his lips......
..."That's Daniel Grigori, " Arriane said......
.....She glanced again at Daniel. He took his glasses off and slid them inside his jacket, then turned to look at her.........
..She realised they were still locking eyes when Daniel flashed her a smile. A jet of warmth shot through her and she had to grip the bench for support. She felt her lips pull up in a smile back at him, but then he raised his hand in the air.
And ....................

BOOK REVIEW:

I have read this book twice now as I needed to be able to write my review as I originally read it when it first hit the stores. I loooveee the covers on Fallen and Torment ( bk # 2) , beautiful!!!

There is something about Lauren's writing I have been trying to put my finger on. I have thought hard about this and decided that she has a writing technique with her storyline that doesn't sometimes need a reason why she wrote it. I think often when reading books when an author alludes to something there are some readers who take that ( myself included ) and look for a reason for it being written later on in the story ( I often look for words an author has placed in their writing that is like a clue, an answer, something subtle that we need to have remembered to figure out the mystery, I work my theories out, which I enjoy doing as I read a book). Lauren Kate doesn't necessarily have a reason, she will write something about a character and it just is. Once I got past that and didn't need an answer to certain parts of storyline, I was really enjoying 'Fallen'. Now I had to read 'Fallen' twice to ensure that I was accurately feeling the way I was when reading this book. I wasn't just missing an answer/reason.

I found Lauren's story to be quite original and I have taken the time to read reviews written on Goodreads ( which I never do before I write a review as I want it totally from my thoughts), but I did this as I was desperate to get my words right in this review.

I REALLY enjoyed the story of Luce , Daniel ( gorgeous character, but mysterious, sometimes not very nice to Luce) , Cam ( hmm ....jury still out on Cam), Arriane ( informative ..lol!! and a bit of a character) , Gabbe (friends with Daniel) , Molly ( the pierced scarey one), Roland ( party dude, your go-to guy for most things), Penn ( looove!!! Penn ).

All the characters story , is told mainly within the walls of Swords and Cross reform school and it's cemetery.  I must admit I am still none the wiser to a character Trevor and the why???,  but that is Lauren Kate's writing:D

I want to delve into storyline and substantiate some of my review, but it will give the story away. There are twists ( which I love in a story) , action , punch ups ( always fun watching handsome lads go at it), rules are broken, blood is spilt, love/desire is confused and trust is broken in 'Fallen' . The ending can make you go AAAGGGHHH!!! because it leaves you hanging,  but, now 'Torment' is released,  you just have to pick it up and start reading:D

I absolutely love the book covers and can't wait for the covers of Passion bk # 3 and Rapture bk # 4.

FAVE QUOTES:

"I've already had to wait so long."
"How long?" Luce asked.
"Not so long that I've forgotten that you're worth everything. Every sacrifice. Every pain."

"Please don't worry. I will always come for you. I won't let you go until you understand that."
"Then I refuse to understand," she said."

"She liked the way he smelled - kind of free and open, like driving with the windows down at night."

"Soooo," Arriane said. "Now you've met Randy."
"I thought his name was Cam."
"We're not talking about him," Arriane said quickly. "I mean the she-man in there." Arriane jerked her head toward the office where they'd left the attendant in front of the TV. "Whaddya think-dude or chick?"
"Uh, chick?" Luce said tentativley. "Is this a test?"
Arriane cracked a smile. "The first of many. And you passed. At least, I think you passed. The gender of most of the faculty here is an ongoing, school wide debate. Don't worry, you'll get into it."

"He dipped her low and kissed her fiercely, as if he were angry, and each time his lips left hers, even just for half a second, the most parching thirst ran through her, making her cry out."

"What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours?"
