AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - JUDYANN McCOLE - ADELA ARTHUR AND THE CREATOR'S CLOCK - THE CHRONICLES OF A # 1 - SELF PUBLISHED - FANTASY

Today Novels On The Run welcomes debut author Judyann McCole to chat with us and introduce her new book Adela Arthur and the Creator's Clock. In stores July 26th 2013.

Tell our readers a little bit about yourself.

Judyann:  Hardest question in the world! I'm Judyann McCole, I'm 20 but still feel 16 at heart. I love books, all books, and the color teal! I'm currently working at a bookstore where I spend my days dreaming about when my book will be on the shelf. You can tweet me at @judyannmccole and I will tweet you back!

Do you write every day?

Judyann:  Yes. In fact I think my computer secretly hates me! I do my best to post on my blog or outline plots. It's almost like i'm under a spell.

Are you a self- published writer or are you working with a publishing house?

Judyann:  I'm both actually. It maybe crazy but I was offered a contract by a few small publishing houses for Adela Arthur however I declined. I wanted to do what was write for my book and self publishing felt right. I do work with a publishing house and I have another book with them coming out in the fall!

Have you ever written a hero you'd be happy to run off with?

Judyann:  All the time! What's the point of having a hero you can't see yourself with? I right hero's that I love and hope others will join me and love them as well.

What is Adela Arthur and the Creator's Clock about? How did you come up with it?

Judyann:  Not only do I work in a bookstore but I babysit 3 young girls on the weekends. For a few hours we read Harry Potter, Percy Jackson, and even the Hobbit. One night a Sammy looked me dead in the eye and said "I want to read a about a girl. I want to go on adventure. It's not fair." Sammy, 9, is the ring leader of her sisters and if she wanted something her sisters wanted it too.

So I came up with this girl who got to go on this grand adventure to find out who she really was. This story became Adela Arthur.

A 16 year old girl who finds out she is from a land behind mirrors where myth is reality.

SYNOPSIS

To Whom Ever This May Concern;

I wish I could tell you the contents of this book were purely fictional. That I, Adela Arthur, was just a normal sixteen year old from Portland and that dragons, giants, elves and mermaids were just myths. I wish these were legends shared from crazy old grandparents to crazy old grandparents around campfires. After all, that is what I used to believe.

I never would have thought they lived on the other side of our mirrors in a world called Cielieu. But they do…

I never would have thought there were humans, better known as Volsin that lived among them with the ability to create light from a single thought. But there are…

I never would have thought I was one of them… But I am…

I am the last Arthur and I was brought to the human world after a Volsin, filled with greed, began to strip the light from our kind.

The human world was supposed to be a safe haven… but he’s found us and the only way to stop him is to go back to Cielieu and begin training as a student in the Elpida Castle of Light.

Like I said I wish the contents of this book were purely fictional and not my life…

ADELA ARTHUR

ABOUT  AUTHOR

…Roman Catholic

A lover of Books, Florence + The Machine, the color Teal, Asian Food, Chocolate, Pandas, and The Rain.

Also A fan of writing in odd places like in bathtubs, under staircases, in a tree, or maybe zoo.

I was born in Montreal, Canada and a few years later my parents moved home to the States where I’m currently attending College. I began writing when I was in middle school most of it was just simple poetry but in my head I was Maya Angelou. I loved Why The Caged Bird Sings and always saw myself as the caged bird. I asked myself what is my thing? What am I good at? It sure wasn’t math or science and I was okay in music. In middle school I was the girl with the purple clarinet, however that did not help my ability to play; I was simply okay. I played volleyball and basketball because I am tall and figured you can’t go wrong with that.

I don’t know why I never thought about writing. As I was searching for a niche in everything else I was also writing stories about a girl searching for where she belongs and people my age going on wild adventures. One day a teacher of mine, Ms. E. McAllen, asked me what I loved to do and it finally hit me. I love being a storyteller. But I was afraid no one would want, or care to read what I had to say. Until another teacher, Ms. K. Cole gave me the pep talk that changed my life.

My real name is Judy Onyegbado and my Debut Novel, Adela Arthur and the Creator’s Clock, will be out this summer.

MOONRISE will be in stores Fall of 2013 by Tri-Destiny Publishing
