She doesn't see dead people. She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder.

Literally.

Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next.

BOOK REVIEW:

I had heard a lot of buzz about the Soul Screamers series, so I thought I would give it a try. What a wonderfully original character a bean sidhe.

This first instalment was a lot of world building , but I understand why. There was the mystery of beautiful girls dropping dead, there was getting to know the main characters, discovering who they were, how they fit into Kaylee’s life.

I liked Kaylee’s character, I really felt for her when she was going through her moments. I felt just as out of the loop as she was and scared at what was happening, the frustration of not knowing.

I love Nash Hudson’s character and Tod. There is something about Tod. He has quite a witty personality. I want to read more about him, he seems lost, and possibly crushing on Kaylee. I can’t help thinking Nash and Kaylee were quite sudden , considering his appreciation for the opposite sex. I understand his connection with Kaylee ,what draws him to her, but is that enough. There is just something about Tod that has me getting my Team Tod T-shirt ready......time will tell.

I want to know more about Aiden and Brendon. These two brothers have a story that I wonder if we will hear more about. We heard some, but...they have more to tell about the Netherworld. I can’t help thinking about Harmony and these two brothers.

There are a couple nice POW’s I didn’t see coming ( pow = twists/surprise in story line) , so that was nice. I don't know why but with the series being called Soul Screamers, I thought it was about Demons. What a pleasant surprise.

I am really looking forward to My Soul To Save as I think the sequel will be opening up the story more. We have gotten the major world building out the way now.

Rachel Vincent has me very intrigued to know more. This was only the tip of the story she has to tell.

  2. Great review! I still have to pick this one up as well I've heard nothing but reat things about the series. I love that it concentrates on the world building. It can make book 1 feel slow but I find it's worth it in the end.
