After living on the streets of New York for over a decade, Logan admits her perceptions might be a little skewed. But twisted or not, there's a satisfying irony in watching a well dressed vampire stand in the middle of a ghetto alley, windblown trash scraping circles near his feet. What she finds even more intriguing, is waiting for him to decide if he's going to kill her.
Kerestyan hasn't made up his mind. As the Lord of New York, he can't let a drug addict, whose memories are packed with knowledge of vampires, run free in his city. It's not the first time he's been in this situation with a human, it's just the first time he's come face to face with one who doesn't seem to care. And that's what makes the decision so difficult.
What horrors could you witness before you went numb? How long would it take before you felt that way? What could make you care again?
Logan's answers are simple: the worst humanity has to offer, almost thirty, and something she never expected.
BOOK REVIEW:
I made a couple bold moves this year. I approached two authors, Tim O’Rourke author of Vampire Shift and asked to have a read and I contacted Jennifer Turner and ask if I could have a read of ‘Eternal Seduction’. I am then rewarded with 2 very different and most awesome stories that I found quite original.
I had stumbled across Jennifer’s web page and she had the first 3 chapters of this book up to read. I fell in love with her writing , straight away. ‘Eternal Seduction’ is a great page turner. I recommend everybody go have a read of her chapters, you will see what I mean. If you like paranormal/urban fantasy with a nice dose of adult smexi in it, then I think you will really enjoy ‘Eternal Seduction’.
Within the first chapter you find 30 year old Logan Ellis lives a hard life on the streets of New York. She is street savvy and quite emotionally detached from herself. 10 years on the street surviving will do that to you.
She knows about vampires but that’s their business what they get up to. She just wants to get to her next meal ticket or it’s alla garbage on the menu and her next hit of drugs. There’s one problem, some squabbling vampires are in her way. So what would anybody do who wanted to get some vampires to move on......well pitch her dinner , an apple core at one of them, of course, ha!
Enter Kerestyan Nelek, Lord of the New York Vampires. Logan is such a flawed character in many ways. As the reader you find it very easy to like her. She just does not care and she is so verbally honest.
Kerestyan is such a likeable character. I loved that he didn’t judge Logan. He was this all powerful presence that could end lives magician style. There was something that stopped him in his tracks , intrigued him about Logan. I think Kerestyan was blown away by her the moment she spoke, he didn’t see a homeless druggie, he saw intelligence.
I love Odin, Kerestyan’s brother, he brings so much humour to this book. He is quite hilarious. He dislikes Logan , is sarcasm extreme and is the real deal. The banter between Logan and Odin I loved reading. He really is a gem of a character. A very funny moment is when Odin is left virtually speechless..well virtually.
The black dreadlock wearing Vouclade is another brother I really liked. He has a very interesting way about him, caring yet.....dangerous and has a very interesting chapter with Logan.
Father , Lord Stefan Nelek , is very old and he is very dangerous, even to his children. He likes to play chess, his way.
The supporting characters are well written and make you want to know more. I love Syn, I think you will too. Drake Black came and went , I am glad he is the main male character in Eternal Hearts, the next book in the series . Raze is a great character, a Paladin, very original.
I totally love it when I find a book that really satisfies me and I want more. Jennifer writes like a New York Best Seller. My only grumble is it wasn’t long enough, I was in a reading trance and I wanted more.
This series is one to put on your shelves , for the adults:D
FAVE QUOTES:
He raked her with a hard glare from those creepy depths then scowled. “It’s wet and dirty . Where did you get it?”
Did she really just hear that? She stiffened and narrowed ehr eyes to match his. “I’m not an it?”
He turned towards Kerestyan, mouth agape. “ You brought one home that can still talk?”
“She isn’t here of her own accord.”
“Ooh, is she food?”
“No!” Kerestyan boomed. “She is not food.”
“I am not going to go buy her clothes. I’m your twin , not your bitch.”
Odin’s mouth closed and opened a few times before words finally came out. “She’s like a #$@&^%# seven layer burrito someone forgot was in the back of the fridge for six months.”
“You made her clothes.”
Odin reached up and scratched the back of his head, false irritation crinkling the faint lines around his eyes. “It’s not like I had a choice. The all night grocery store doesn’t sell a size two meant to fit a six foot tall bean pole.”
