When she meets Bran, a mysterious boy with amazing abilities, his psi energy unlocks her latent powers. But Bran has a secret that can ruin their growing relationship, and the truth she discovers may destroy everything she believes in unless she finds the right balance between love and sacrifice.

BOOK REVIEW:
From the get go , Ednah Walters has the reader turning pages. Who is calling Lil’s name?

I am a book cover girl and when I saw 19 yr old Bran Llyr on the cover with his wings it had me intrigued and what beautiful wings they are. What I liked about Bran’s character was he was different to what I thought he would be. I assumed Angel/Fallen Angel when I saw the cover.......

Ednah has made this a family affair. Bran has his dysfunctional family and Lil has her Grampa, Ares Falcon. Grampa is a very strong character and somebody for Lil to lean on. At times I thought Lil may have been a bit too teary throughout the book as I am used to female leads being very strong characters, but she is only 16 and maybe this is more realistic when discovering yourself like Lil was. Naturally Lil’s character starts to grow before your eyes and becomes a force to be reckoned with.

The supporting teen guardian characters were a great source of help for Lil. Remy, who was like the big brother of the group, protecting, organising the teen guardians. Sykes..... well , I love a flirty character and I get the feeling he is crushing on Lil . I liked the way Sykes calls Lil, ‘Red’. He is a fun character , where Remy is serious and a lot more mature character for his age. A great recipe for YA often includes the bitchy girl and Kim lives up to that name, with a rather large chip on her shoulder, but there is always room for change. Izzy , I really like her, she is like the sister Lil never had.

I would like to read more about Darius’s brotherhood of Outcasts in Betrayed, they seem like they could be fun to read.

A fave scene is the first date and the action/fighting scenes were great to read. I also really liked the concept of nature benders. They cause natural disasters.

This was a nicely paced read, with several supporting characters popping up all the time keeping the story moving along and a covert operation is underway, a real eye opener for Lil and some things will never be the same again.

I really enjoyed Awakened , Ednah made Good vs Evil her own , I am looking forward to Betrayed, book # 2 in the Guardian Legacy series due for release 1st August 2011. For some reason I don’t think things are going to be all that smooth sailing for Bran and Lil in ‘Betrayed’.
