Blurb: Goodreads

Life outside of her house was a new experience for Della Sloane. The dark secrets of her past weren’t something she ever intended to share with anyone. They would never understand. No one would ever get close enough to find out. There was always a chance she’d go crazy sooner than they expected…

Woods Kerrington had never been one to be attracted to fragile females. They seemed like too much work. He wasn’t in it for the work just the pleasure. A night full of naughty fun had been exactly what was on his mind when he’d laid eyes on the hot little number that didn’t know how to pump gas and needed some help.

What he didn’t know was she was as fragile as they came.
The carefree girl who spoke her mind and didn’t care what the world thought of her was more breakable than he could ever imagine…

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I didn’t even stop to take notes for my review. I just powered on through this book.

Woods!

Woods!

Woods!

Damn! I knew he would be good, but the lad sizzles.

Hot!

A one night stand takes Woods by surprise. Who is this girl that he can’t forget?

Why can't he forget her?

“I’m on a road trip to nowhere and everywhere.”

Woods’s eyebrows narrowed and he studied me a moment. “Really? That’s interesting. Do you know your final destination?”

I didn’t have a clue. I shrugged. “Nope. I guess when I find it I’ll know it.”

We stood there a moment in silence. I started to move, when Woods’s hand reached over and touched my arm. “Have dinner with me before you get back on the road?”

Then, back to business as usual, until Della walks back into his life.

Time for decisions. Loyalty to his family or Della?

Happiness or a life time of regret?

Woods knows what he wants in his heart, but to put into practice, they both come up against some tough obstacles.

There is a lot at stake for Woods and his family.

Della is an interesting character because of the way she was raised and the conditions. She had a curious streak in her to escape at night with Braden, if only for a short time. No matter the punishment. No matter what her mother told her.

She has her fears, she has her innocence about certain things, but put her with Woods and they light up the sky.

Pure fireworks in the bedroom, or the table, or up against a wall...

Yowzer!

“Every time I’m inside of you is making love, baby. Every damn time.”

Alpha male coming through and he is on a mission.

A forbidden love with a girl who asks for nothing and in return she gets a promise.

“I love you. I’ll never leave you, and I swear to you, sweet-heart, that you will never be alone.”

Woods showed me in Never Too Far that he had a protective side with Blaire. He sees a damsel in distress and he does what he needs to do to make it easier. He is smart and not much gets past him.

Just a Kiss by Lady Antebellum makes an appearance in this book and I loved that scene.

This time he must have felt my eyes on him, because he turned his head my way and our gazes met. Each word sounded like I was singing to him. I wasn’t. I couldn’t be. But it felt that way. As the song came to an end, I tore my eyes off him and swore to myself I wouldn’t look his way again.

Abbi , you are killing me!

LOVE Braden. This girl is made of metal. She rocks. If she didn’t already have a hubby I would have loved to read her book, but her hubby is made of strong stuff, so I am happy she got a good one.

Having Braden had saved me. No one cared until Braden. Somehow I’d won the loyalty of this big-hearted person who I could never thank enough.

“It’s about time, Mr. Kerrington. I don’t like seeing my wife upset, and when Della is upset, so is my wife.”

“You coming here to get her?”

“Yes,” I replied.

“Well, I’m not so sure I’m okay with you taking her anywhere near that sorry-ass father of yours. Della doesn’t have any family. Braden is it for her. And when I married Braden, I got Della, too. I knew that going in. Those two are tight. I protect what’s mine.”

I gripped the steering wheel. “Della is mine. Make no mistake about that.”

Atta boy , Woods.

Tripp, ooo yeah baby, there better be a Tripp book. He sounds like a lad that has a story to tell us. Naturally, Abbi makes this lad sound so damn fine.

Bring. It. On.

I think there are a lot of us readers out there that just won’t hesitate to pick up an Abbi Glines NA contemporary romance read, she just knows how to write toe curling off the charts smexi scenes. She knows how to make her beautiful lads speak to the reader where we simply want more.

We swoon.

We dare to dream.

Michelle

Woods had his perfect life mapped out for him. Rise up the ranks of the family business. Marry the rich girl of his parents’ dreams. Pretend that wealth and privilege was all he’d ever wanted. Then a girl named Della breezed into town, a beautifully imperfect stranger who captured his heart and opened his eyes to a new kind of future. Woods is ready and willing to sacrifice everything for her when the sudden death of his father leaves him with his mother to care for and a business to manage.

Della is determined to be strong for Woods, even as she’s quietly falling to pieces. No matter how far from home she’s run, the ghosts of her past have never stopped haunting her. Struggling to hide her true feelings from Woods, Della fears she can’t be his rock without dragging him down into the darkness with her. But is she strong enough to let go of the last thing holding her together?
