About the Book:

In the Garden of Thoughts is a gift book that reduces the complexities of life into simple universal truths. It is a collection of short and poignant thoughts widely embraced by my readers and accompanied by whimsical and delightful illustrations to capture a reader’s imagination.

About Dodinsky:

His intent was simply to share his reflections about life in order to help heal the wounds inflicted by life’s troubles. At the time, the man known by his readers as Dodinsky had no idea that within months of starting his blog In the Garden of Thoughts, thousands of readers would find healing through the modest words he planted.

The focus of Dodinsky’s short writings–love, compassion, growth, tolerance, and self-worth–clearly resonate with his readers, whom Dodinsky calls “gardeners.” His page has become a community in which people from all walks of life share their own stories.

  1. Thank you this opportunity. I read positive affirmations on a daily basis and remind myself that I want to be happy every moment of the day. I have also been inspired by books from Robin Sharma, "The Monk who sold his ferrari." I have also been inspired by the book, "The Secret," I also surround myself with positive people. - Monika

  3. When I feel the world slipping away I turn to my easel and paint, or I find a book to read that is soothing to my thoughts. The best thing I do is hop in my truck and drive 4 hours to ocean. A win win because my daughters live there and there is nothing more uplifting than watching the ocean.

  8. I go outside and look up at the sky or at things around me when possible helps me get grounded and some form of understanding on life. Im one of those people who find beauty in the little things. I also have a saying "Everything will figure itself out if you keep moving forward". I repeat it often when going through difficult times.

  9. I do a variety of things, depending on my mood/why I am not feeling positive. Listen to music, read inspirational/motivating books (as I'm sure yours will be), take a walk, call/visit with a friend, call my mom (geography does not allow for us to visit often) whose voice and words of wisdom often calm me and turn my thoughts around.

  10. Thank you for the opportunity to enter! I love Dodi, and have pre-ordered his book, and calendar! I cannot wait to receive them. When I don't feel so good/positive it is usually about myself. There are two things that I do that always make me feel better: I do something for someone else, no matter how small and it always brings a smile to my face to see happiness even if just for a fleeting second. The other thing that I do is look at my daughter, I have nursed her back from a state of critical care/coma to where she was prior. That's no small feat as she is living and thriving I might add, with Autism. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be Rana's MOM! It is a blessing that I can't take for granted! Ok.. I am also long winded... sorry! :-)

  12. When I was young, people did not understand me. I always do what makes me feel good(what makes me smile) I am a Do Gooder as I have been told. Friends were suspicious of me, I'm always smiling(like what was I up to?) The friends that stuck around get me. I like to be positive in any helpful manner. I choose to be positive, happy, helpful. Why not? Mankind is not meant to hate. When I was in grade school my Mother volunteered at geriatric home. My Mom would take my sister and I & we would walk with the elderly and hold their hands and listen - this meant the world to them. I felt so good to make a difference in someones life(this impression has stayed with me and has grown.) I volunteer at my kids elementary school - I get that same feel good feeling. Walking is my addiction - walking cancels out all negative feelings & de-stresses me(happy, positive me) Anytime I can help others - my fuel to being Susan. : )

  15. When I feel down, I commit some small random act of kindness. Pay for the coffee, drink for person behind me in line, tell the cashier to use $5 I hand her for the next single parent or Veteran for their prescription.
It helps. Remember, someone else, somewhere is sadder than you. Mddell58@gmail.com
