When your dreams come true, sometimes you get more than you bargained for...

Natalie Johnson has always dreamed she’s someone else; calm, beautiful, in control. A chosen warrior with a maniacal arch nemesis and a dreamy boyfriend, the type that can make your knees melt and your heart quiver.

Real life is much different. She’s tormented by a bully and endures the sharp tongue of her father, but finds solace in her dreams.

When her bully ends up dead, de ja vu from a dream hits her hard as everything around her begins to fall apart.

Whatever killed Sarah in her dreams is now in reality, hunting her from the shadows. And it wants her dead.

Somehow as the lines between reality and nightmare blur, Natalie must discover hidden strength to pull her friends and family back from the brink of madness.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle :

Natalie is a demon slayer and a kick ass one ...... in her dreams. Damien the hottie , Mr Buckle and Mark are also in her dreams. Damien is the half demon hottie.

Now....I am going to be honest and say that I was a tad confused sometimes where reality and dream scenes blurred a bit and my head got the fuzzy wuzzys, but!! I totally loved what Jill was doing.

Picture Buffy the vampire demon slayer and this is how the sub characters and Natalie felt a bit in a comparison way, but then there was the whole dream thing, which is the twist. Parallel lives going on, but the characters were different in each one.

This book starts off with a bit of an ode to the movie ‘Speed’. Chick on bus, no brakes .........which I really liked. The feel is this chick who saves the day, and we get a hint of a villain , Morach, and we are introduced to the some time boyfriend , Damien.

......then, Natalie becomes the little chubby , not so chickie babe looking ,and we meet Tristan, her friend since they were little kidlets running barefoot in the sandpit. Tristan is crushing big time and sees Natalie as gorgeous. He totally digs her. Unfortunately for Natalie in this world she is picked on and not kickass. She is regular girl , who gets pounded on by a bully named Sarah.

Don’t worry karma has a way of rearing its head.

So, we go back and forth and as the reader I found myself trying to grasp where I was sometimes. I knew I was in two worldy type things, but I got a bit confuzzed what was the reality and what wasn’t. Now this could have been deliberate.

....then, the story takes on another turn and it gets a bit darker and students at Meadow Creek High become effected by their nightmares . Some kids obviously have bad fears , they really were hard done by. Mr Buckle, he just feared bad tea.....lol!

I really loved the sound of Marcus, the rather righteous dude. He kinda floated about. Michelle was the character you thought was going to be a bit of a pain, but she turned out to be ok. She just needs to work on her social skills a bit, lol!!

Action scenes grow into quite good fighting scenes and we watch Natalie start to realise what is going on in her life, even though she is as baffled as we are to the wt!! Evil has come through a portal and if left to their own devices , could take over Meadow Creek, and then possibly the world. This is where I would like to insert a MWahhhha..haaaaaa!! ( evil laugh)

I can’t help it, I am suss about Mark. Jill has sowed some seeds in this book, I think they have yet to grow. I am sure they will be nice and green in the sequel.

All I will say is bottom roast and gravy.....yum! Yes, I mean bottom/butt/backside/tush ... my daughter calls hers , her chi chi.

Jill has laid the foundations for the sequel and I am quite interested to see where she goes . Light on the romance with an original idea, I think the Buffy fans will enjoy.
