RATING : 3.75 BANSHEE STARS!

When she’s sent to a crime scene and finds her second dead woman in as many weeks, half-banshee detective Kiera “Mac” McLoughlin is convinced a serial killer is on the loose. Incubi are extinct, her boss insists. But what else can kill a woman in the throes of pleasure? When her partner is murdered after using witchcraft to locate the killer and Mac is thrown off the case, her frustration turns to desperation.

Certain the killer is an incubus, Mac works behind her department’s back to chase down slim, sometimes perilous leads. While the killer eludes her, she does discover handsome Aidan Byrne, an investigative counterpart from the enigmatic Otherworlder Enforcement Agency. Mac typically runs her investigations fast and hard, but with Aidan at her side, she’s running this one “hot” as well. But Aidan knows more than he’s letting on—something that could shatter their blazing romance and add Mac to the killer’s growing body count…

BOOK REVIEW:

Kiera McLoughlin,  aka Mac is a Detective with the Freak Squad. A term normals/human cops give to the paranormal unit. She is a half banshee. She investigates paranormal crimes. In Tiffany’s world, humans are more than aware of the paranormal creatures living side by side with them. But they too need to be policed.

A woman turns up dead, drained and not of blood. Rules out the ol vampire, maybe Incubus? But they have been extinct since around 1850 .

Enter Aidan Byrne from OWEA. The Otherworlder Enforcement Agency, paranormal version of FBI.  He has made himself all cosy at Mac’s house, invitation not required. No need to ring the doorbell, apparently..hehe!!

Things turn personal when Mac’s partner, a witch is murdered .

A mystery ensues of who is the killer and why only women? Throw in  a Goblin and some hot smexi and you have a nice start to this series.

I thought Mac’s banshee side , could maybe have been used more than the once to remind us that she was infact more than human.

I enjoyed Tiffany’s sub characters, human, witch, vampire and succubus.

I really like Detective Joe Agrusa aka Aggie, the only human on the Police ‘normal’ Force, that treated her not like a freak.

Detective Claude Desmarais , vampire, I liked him too. I hope he makes a bigger appearance in book 2. He is a bit mysterious.

I am interested to see where Tiffany takes Aidan and Mac, as , well they have already travelled the hot smexi path.
I'm not a huge fan of the guy, I assume to be Aidan, on the book cover, infact I keep seeing 'Grease', yes the movie, reruns of the guys and the way they were dressed, styled. Maybe it's just me, but he isn't at all how I see Aidan. Just saying:D

This series has great potential and I am looking forward to delving deeper into some of these characters.

FAVE QUOTE:

“I am a sex god. That’s my special power.”
