Working as a Hound-tracing illegal spells back to their casters-has taken its toll on Allison Beckstrom. But even though magic has given her migraines and stolen her recent memory, Allie isn't about to quit. Then the police's magic enforcement division asks her to consult on a missing persons case. But what seems to be a straightforward job turns out to be anything but, as Allie finds herself drawn into the underworld of criminals, ghosts, and blood magic.

BOOK REVIEW:

Allie is one tough , stubborn woman. She is really growing on me as a character. She is learning how to care, rather than lust after. She is starting to think more about herself and what she wants, needs in her life. Her memory loss, makes for a great way for Devon to explore Allie’s character. She really has to work hard at trying to hold onto those slithers of memory that pop into her head. Trying to remember Zayvion and what they had. To have your memories stolen from you randomly, would be a hard and frustrating thing to deal with.

Zay's character I am starting to connect with more. He really is becoming that solid guy that Allie needs. He was always gorgeous and mysterious, now he is more. Zay shows more of his emotions. Not just the poker faced, Zen guy, not just the guy that keeps grounding her, saving her. He is opening up more.

Violet and Kevin, I hope that goes somewhere. I have a feeling it will. I like Kevin’s character. He is all about being the mysterious bodyguard, lethal kind of magic dude. I can see Violet’s situation is not going to be an easy one. I love Kevin’s attentiveness.

Allie finds herself in a Beckstrom sandwich and it’s none too tasty. There are hungry ghosts and a sinister mad scientist ( well I like to look at this character as a mad scientist) . She is trying to survive Lon Trager and his minions. Pike wants her to meet the Pack.

Davy Silvers is a sweet guy who has become her wing man, as in he is in the wings , watching, helping keep her safe. I really like him. It’s a big thing for Allie to allow somebody to be there for her.

Detective Payne and Detective Love have just opened Allie’s eyes up to some of the real stuff going on with the Police Department.

Detective Stotts has now got Allie working for him and it is a dangerous, apparently cursed way to earn a buck. Stotts' past record with working with Hounds, leans towards the Hound not surviving. Can he be trusted?

Allie gets herself into more trouble and this time she will be lucky to survive. The odds are not good. Blood Magic is a pretty terrifying thing in the wrong hands. Unfortunately for Allie, it’s in the wrong hands.

Devon Monk weaves new characters, her wonderful imagination and a plot that is getting thicker and more intriguing into a great page turner. A whole new storyline is opening up. Being stubborn tends to run in the family.......
