THE FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH by Carrie Ryan

When this was first described to me, my instant thought was.... "The Village by M. Night Shyamalan".  The fence around the village is basically the only similarity~!!!
Carrie Ryan has done a fantastic job in writing a fast paced, page gripping suspenseful novel.  I was by no means relaxing on the couch whilst I was reading this. As tense and anxious as I was, I enjoyed every page there was and cried out for MORE..... Only to realise I had NOT ordered the sequel (The Dead-Tossed Waves). I was beside myself with literary grief at not being able to continue the story straight away!!

When people ask me what the main paranormal characters are, I have to say zombies... which has given me a rather cringed response by others..... though the Unconsecrated are a zombie like character, they are not the absolute lead in characters in this book. They are there always in the background and do play a very pivotal role.... but it is the story of Mary that we follow. Her passion and lust for the brother of her betrothed.....the anguish at the possibility of living the remainder of her years with the Sisterhood.......the struggle to find the ocean that no-one else believes even exists........

This is by far high on my Top 5 list of books to read.  I highly recommend it...... but please make sure you have The Dead-Tossed Waves to continue on with.... if you don't, you will cry yourself to sleep until you get it!!!

The book trailer has been posted on the Trailers page..... check it out.

Enjoy!
