URBAN FANTASY - PATRICIA BRIGGS - SPOTLIGHT SATURDAY # 2 - ACE BOOKS

SPOTLIGHT SATURDAY # 2

PATRICIA BRIGGS

I'm a quite the fan girl for Patricia Briggs and her Mercedes Thompson series. I started reading them back in February 2011.

I was hooked.

Total Urban Fantasy heaven for me.

Mercy and Adam, Stefan and all the other sub characters, totally rock the world that Patricia has written.

Mercy is one of my fave kick ass urban fantasy female characters. She is smart, independent, rocks at being a mechanic and she has a good heart.

Adam is very growl worthy. He and Mercy have a very memorable scene or three from the third book, Iron Kissed, which I personally think is the best book in the series.

I would say River Marked is my least favorite, but still very enjoyable.

Pop over to Patricia's Web page. Her husband Mike writes articles which I find interesting.

You can have a read of how the cover model for the earlier covers, came about. How the artists found her. It is a very interesting article.

ALPHA & OMEGA SERIES

Cry Wolf, the first book in the Alpha & Omega series, is set between Moon Called and Blood Bound, the first two books in the Mercy Thompson series.

I have not read this series yet. I need to.

This is Charles and Anna's stories along with other characters who you will meet in the Mercedes Thompson series.

On The Prowl is the anthology that has the #0.5 prequel novella for Alpha & Omega series in it, which looks like it should be read before Cry Wolf. Sometimes prequel novella's are written after the first book has been written, but not in this case.

Goodreads have put a numbering system on these two series, where they have merged them together. Take a look.

If you are looking for a great urban fantasy series to get addicted to, then pick up Patricia Briggs and give her a whirl. Writing this posting made me realize how much time has flown and I should be cracking open Alpha & Omega, myself.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Taken from Goodreads

Patricia Briggs was born in Butte, Montana to a children’s librarian who passed on to her kids a love of reading and books. Patricia grew up reading fairy tales and books about horses, and later developed an interest in folklore and history. When she decided to write a book of her own, a fantasy book seemed a natural choice. Patricia graduated from Montana State University with degrees in history and German and she worked for a while as a substitute teacher. Currently, she lives in Montana with her husband, children and six horses and writes full-time, much to the delight of her fans.

  2. I've heard TONNES about this series but haven't read it myself. I do have a copy of the first book that cost me $3.50 in K-mart a few weeks back that I couldn't pass up :) I know this is a very popular series--I'll have to try it sometime soon!
