I received a poem today and the author would like to remain anonymous. No it is not me, I would tell you. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover really touched this person and they showed me a poem they had written sometime back. I asked if I could share this poem on my blog as it comes from a lot of pain but it is such an inspiring poem.
The author said I could .
I gotta say it is tough to read this without grabbing for the kleenex. Gotta say, I am sitting here having a good ol snot fest. Michelle
Generation After Generation
Generation after generation
How we've made it this far, I don't know
All those years left feeling so alone
Two childhoods lost for all time
If anything, that's the worst committed crime
Forced to give up our innocents ,
For the hardship our time was spent
Instead of a hug and a kiss
Love was given with a fist
Living our youth paying for our parents shame
As they grew just the same
Generation After Generation
This destruction must come to an end
To the heavens I silently send
A struggle it will be
To do anything to set our souls free
As long as we have each other
Life will become stronger for me and my brother
Trying to look back where darkness lies
That is where hope slowly dies
Only to look upon bright sunny days
We shall see a rainbow at the end of this maze
Generation after generation
Hand in hand,
Soul to soul,
Drifting in from the cold
Finding together it becomes a smoother road
United we stand, together we fall
My big brother and I will stand tall
Generation after Generation
Never again our heads held in shame
To carry on the past, we'll be partly to blame
As the rain disappears along with flowing tears
Our souls become clean of well known fears
Where the sun now shines new life grabs ahold
As our now promising lives begin to unfold
Generation after generation
Starting with us to last through our golden years
Unity in our families
With the most powerful, indestructible, loving bond to last
Generation after generation .
Generation after generation .

Hi Jesse, I thought so, that is why I asked if I could put it on the blog. There is a lot of pain attached to it for the author.
