Get ready for "non-stop vampire action" (Darque Reviews) in the latest Morganville Vampire novel from New York Timesbestselling author Rachel Caine.
While developing a new system to maintain Morganville's defenses, student Claire Danvers discovers a way to amplify vampire mental powers. Through this, she's able to re-establish the field around this vampire-infested Texas college town that protects it from outsiders.
But the new upgrades have an unexpected consequence: people inside the town begin to slowly forget who they are-even the vampires. Soon, the town's little memory problem has turned into a full-on epidemic. Now Claire needs to figure out a way to pull the plug on her experiment- before she forgets how to save Morganville...
BOOK REVIEW by Michelle :
Vampire Bunny slippers....yay!! yes, my fave manic character Myrnin has his vampire bunny slippers on in this instalment. I soooo badly want a piece of character artwork to be done on Myrnin.
Myrnin is at his manic best in this book. I have NEVER read another character to date in any genre that is a Myrnin type character. Rachel writes him with such a distinct voice and his character traits are ....well, if you don’t know Myrnin, then I shall not spoil it for you.
Myrnin is such a stand out character, in this whole series, I love him, I am scared by him, I would like to say nothing surprises me that he does, but dang, Rachel does surprise me. What a brain ( no pun intended ) Rachel has , to think up as many ways as she can over a series to have a character be just so outstandingly crazy, lol! Yet, there are glimpses of more to Myrnin, especially with Claire.
Michael is as smexi as always with a hint of the forgetful. Shane is the guy with a lot of heartache he is carrying around, but he knows how to bring home the Brisket.
Claire finds herself surrounded by what I would call a town with a bad case of Dementia/Alzheimers. Amelie has some punishment in store for Claire, Amelie style.
Eve, just love this girl, she wears Goth so well.
Oliver and Amelie are having a game of power play. I really do like Oliver. I know, he is supposed to be all scarey and old and scarey , but there is something underneath that he shows every now and then.
Hannah, well Miss Moses, you seem to have a little secret, spending some time with a certain somebody.
Monica is getting put in her place, Claire style. Claire is getting inventive and growing a set where the dim witted Monica is concerned.
Loved this instalment, I really don’t think this lot know how to stay out of trouble, and I for one am glad. This is such a wonderful YA pleasure of mine to read. I just slide back into Morganville and its crazy goings on so easily.
Oh and Rachel does take it a step further ....oh dear....Myrnin!!!!
At the end of my book there was a short story titled ‘Worth Living For’. It is set between Faded out and Kiss of Death. It was a little extra into Bishop, and how he was apprehended. I quite enjoyed seeing Shane and a motorcycle complete with night vision helmet in my mind. Kinda of smexi:)
I go forth and am now onto Bite Club...oh yes, this is almost sounding like Fight Club , vampire style.......or is it?
