FOLLOW MY BOOK BLOG FRIDAY # 11

HOST

Q: Have you ever looked at book’s cover and thought,
 This is going to horrible?
But, was instead pleasantly surprised?
Show off the cover and tell us about the book.

A. I'm going to start by saying I never thought the story was going to be horrible, I am always open to picking up a book that I think is going to be decent to read as time is valuable as a blogger, but the covers I must admit did nothing for me or gave indication of what the story may hold. I read these two books when Amanda Hocking was self published and funny enough I hold dearly the two books I bought off her which are 'Torn' and 'My Blood Approves', the old covers!!
Anyhoo 'Torn' with the spider? hanging off the plant thingy and 'Fate', the tree. I LOVE Amanda's writing but I did have trouble with those covers. But now I look at my Torn edition and go..'awwww', I have an older edition, and it has the spider, which I still don't get ..lol!! It kind of goes to show , that her Trylle series took off and so did My Blood Approves with these covers and I love the story within the pages.
So it truly is a case of Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover!

  5. See now I feel really bad...loL!! But I did say that I have Torn and My Blood Approves in these old covers and I do go "awwwww"..I am glad I have them as it was in her self published days. They have grown on me. I'm still not sure about Fate and it's tree, but all the books did have different colours and where kind of glossy covers and shiney:D

Thanks for stopping by everyone, I am now going to bed as it is 10.52pm and I am on the otherside of the world for some of you. I have visited quite a few blogs now so I will pop back in the morning:D

  8. I actually quite like both of these BUT that's probably because I have a weird obsession with both blue and purple haha. Though the spider seems a bit random...and I hate spiders.

  11. There interesting but don't appeal to my eye. Good choices, this question is definitely showing how we should never judge a book by its cover :) Thanks for commenting on my post!

  12. Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier.

I so agree with you about Fate! That cover just doesn't do anything for me. I can't count the number of times I've seen the Torn cover and I've never noticed the spider before. I must be blind! lol.

  13. haha I NEVER noticed the spider!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is so funny. I read all her books awhile ago when they were self published too! I love them! Not the best covers but since I knew she was self published I didn't really judge them on the covers. Thanks for visiting My FF and I'm following back!
