Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

BOOK REVIEW:

Jennifer has written another YA GOLD book. This is a really ‘cool’ book and a refreshing type of character. ‘Obsidian’ is just , awesome! The Covenant series and this one, the Lux series are so different. I absolutely thought Jennifer couldn’t have gotten any smexier with Aiden St. Delphi...*sigh* , but ,Daemon Black *double sigh* and how gorgeous is he on the cover? oh.....and does he bring the smexi goods!!

I LOVED !!! LOVED!! LOVED! Obsidian.

I LOVED!!! Daemon. He is the type of character as you read you really ‘feel’ how he is at war with himself over the decisions he makes. His sister Dee is his world. She comes first and foremost, nothing can jeopardise her safety, their safety.

Enter Katy, book blogger , very relatable character who has her own blog called, ‘Katy’s Krazy Obsession’. She has moved with her mother and is now, their neighbour.

Dee and Katy hit it off, and Daemon is a bit of a cranky pants over his sister’s new friend. He is such a smart mouth. What I loved about Katy’s character is she gave as good as she got and she is a brave and at times, stubborn character.

Jennifer really writes boys very, very well and the TENSION!!! It sizzles. What I love about Jennifer’s main characters and their relationships, she doesn’t make it easy for them, there is a valid reason for it being a hard to allow love.

In my own words, “clear your schedule, Jennifer writes a page turner....” Yes , she most certainly does. I think there is an art to keeping YA and Adults engrossed in the same book. Jennifer does this very well. I literally did not want this book to end...but it did.

Now I wait and enter giveaways to get a read of Lux # 2 and while I am at it Deity and Apollyon , books 3 and 4 in Covenant series, because, I have so much fun reading Jennifer’s books. They are a wonderful escapism.

I shall say it again, I HIGHLY recommend this new series of Jennifer’s. If you liked Half-Blood, you are going to LOVE Obsidian. Now I can’t wait for ‘Cursed’. If the books I have read already are any indication, I am going to LOVE ‘Cursed’.

I think I am rather addicted to Jennifer’s writing. This book is going to grow a set of legs and walk off the shelves when released.

FAVE QUOTES:

“Hottie? Mom , that’s just weird.”

Mom pushed off from the counter , picked up her plate from the table and headed to the sink. “Honey, I might be old, but my eyes are still working fine. And they were really working earlier.”

( I hear ya sister! )

......”You’re a dickhead.”

“A dickhead?” he repeated. “How charming.”

I flipped him off.

He laughed again and bent his head. A mess of waves fell forward, nearly obscuring his intense green eyes. “Very civilised, Kitten. I’m sure you have a wild array of interesting names and gestures for me, but not interested.”

.... I’d always avoided confrontation in the past, but this guy was flipping my bitch switch like nothing else.

“Stalking me again, I see. Do I need to get a restraining order?”

“In your dreams, Kitten.” He smirked. “Oh wait, I’m already starring in those, aren’t I ?”

I rolled my eyes. “Nightmares, Daemon. Nightmares.”
