THE OTHER 11/12 SUCCESSFULLY

( I GAVE UP AFTER 3 HOURS OF SEARCHING FOR THAT BLASTED BOOK COVER NAME I HAD THE PIC IN MY HEAD BUT COULD I GET THE NAME OF IT AAGGGHHH!! SO I GAVE UP!)

 Challenge 1  Q.1:
What is your favorite type of myth (Greek, Roman, Egyptian etc)?

A: Greek Mythology. There's something to be said for Greek Gods etc.

Challenge 1  Q.2:

What is your favorite book with some type of mythology in it?

A: Half Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout - Covenant Series releasing in September.

Mini Challenge

I started this challenge last night when the challenge was 2 hours old and 3 hours later plus 1 hour this morning later..I gave up...darn it could not get the 1st cover name. Knew what it looked like in my head, could not think of author or name. Got all other 11 pretty quickly. So frustrated at myself for not finding the book name or author...but I tried.

Now I have deviated a tad from my proposed reading list as I was kinda frustrated last night so I thought some Scottish Highlander lad named Dageus MacKeltar would be what I needed, so I picked up :

Karen Marie Moning's - The Dark Highlander page 298 12.11pm 12th/7/11 Aussie time.

I shall now get onto Vampire Shift and get back to the lad tonight.

DAY 2.

MINI CHALLENGE

FROM: The Bookish Type

Pick any book from your readathon pile and write a fake synopsis based solely on the cover. The synopsis does not have to be related to the actual book at all, just the pretty, pretty cover.

err... Sorry Tim O'Rourke, it's a challenge..hee..hee. The requirement was a pretty cover, so um...* sheepish*...here is your new book synopsis...* hides under pillow* ...

Sienna is gifted with perfectly straightened jet black hair , flawless makeup , eyelashes to die for and killer lips...but she has also inherited a severe problem, she bleeds tears. This does not bode well when you live in a village full of  blood thirsty vampires that out number humans, itching for a reason to up the ratio. What is a girl to do, never get emotional? Always be happy? But ... Sienna isn't happy, her 2 favourite Pekinese dogs, Sunny and Grumpy have been murdered , their blood drained from their teeny bodies and she is out for revenge. She must not cry.  Her emotions can't get in the way or ...it could be the death of her. Revenge must be delivered with a smile. It is time to shift the Vampires.

DAY 3

MINI CHALLENGE

FROM: BOOKS FROM BLEH TO BASICALLY AMAZING

The first is any book of your choice. Pick any book you want and tell me and the world why it should be read and loved.
The second is what you would pick as your favorite of the read-a-thon. You can chose to answer this question now, during the third day, or I'll give you one extra day to give that book just waiting to be picked up a chance. :)

FIRST CHALLENGE:

Half Blood by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Man this book was good. I read it twice in 2 nights. Aiden St. Delphi is going to give Dimitri ( Vampire Academy) a run for his money . There is a new YA hottie in town . The story was original and fast paced , lots of action. I can't say anymore as the rules for reading early were not to review until after 15th August. Trust me you want this one on your TBR pile.

SECOND CHALLENGE:

 Vampire Shift by Tim O'Rourke.

POEM UNFORTUNATELY BY MYSELF

This is a different take on Vampires, original, me thinks,
An odd assortment of Coppers and their clink,
A girl named Kiera, with jet black hair,
A lad named Luke who acts like he doesn't care,
A town named The Ragged Cove,
Where people are left with big gaping holes in their throats.

A mystery to solve,
Kiera is a bright one who is in the know,
For Kiera has a gift,
She can 'see' through the shit,
A crime scene she can sum up in minutes,
As long as Potter stops smoking his cigarettes.

There are twists and turns,
Tim O'Rourke tells a great yarn,
Do not go out alone at night,
I can guarantee you won't be able to fight,
Who really should Kiera fear,
Is it ?  or........oh dear.

FINAL UPDATE

My final update, I got 101 pages into Crushed Seraphim.
2 full sized books , plus 101 pages of my third book, was ok.

  1. Nice! I love your synopsis. It's a tough job and I'm glad I wasn't the only one to start with an apology.
