IN MY MAILBOX # 5

BOOKS I BOUGHT

WEEK ENDING 24/04/11

In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren where Marissa and myself will post the books and goodies we have received in the past week. http://www.thestorysiren.com/

This week I got In My Mailbox my long awaited :

The Dark And Hollow Places by Carrie Ryan - Hardback and Paperback. Oh yeah it's that good I needed both. ( see review)

The Name Of The Wind by Patrick Rothfuss - Kingkiller Chronicle # 1- Paperback

I have been hearing wonderful things about Patrick Rothfuss, so I got the first book in his series 'Kingkiller Chronicles ' and it is badass thick, so looking forward to reading it. Apparently if you like Harry Potter, but it's not Harry Potter..lol!!  You will like his series. I shall order the 2nd one shortly , 'The Wise Man's Fear'. I have been following Patrick on his blog . He sounds a very happy, easy going guy with a real passion .

THE MORGANVILLE VAMPIRES

Volume 1

 Glass Houses
The Dead Girls Dance

Volume 2

 Midnight Alley
Feast Of Fools

I'm hoping I can get the kidlets sorted so I can make it down to the Rachel Caine signing in Brisvegas ( Brisbane) . I have nearly finished Glass Houses and I am really , really enjoying it, so much that I read until 2.30am this morning as it was so good it kept the sandman away. Hubby's grumbling about light on, forced me to stop. Bless him , he is very patient with my night reading. I have the rest of this series on layby and shall pick up shortly.

BOOKS FOR REVIEW

A big thank you to Bonnie Lenz from EARTHSHAKER BOOKS.
Bonnie sent me the first two books in the Zan-Gah series for review. These books are aimed at middle school boys (or girls) and have a prehistoric theme.
Though these books are different from our normal genre......we are joining with some local schools and their English departments to give students the chance to read books and hone their writing skills by reviewing the books as a "Guest Reviewer" on the blog.

  1. Wow you guys got a lot of books. There so many that I'm not sure if I could pick one out and comment but I'll try :) Awaken has a very interesting cover. It's almost like it's being trapped. I also got Spellbound and looking forward to what you'll think of it as well as Awaken
