BOOK REVIEW:
I'm in deep with this series. I had not read any Patricia Briggs before I picked up Mercedes Thompson series. I will be reading her Alpha & Omega series set in Mercy Thompson's world, next.
I am just loving the way Patricia writes her characters. I can't fault them. Her characters have depth . More is revealed about certain characters and their struggles the more you read. They aren't 2 dimensional.
In 'Blood Bound', Stefan has called in a favour with Mercy , needing her non human form. From the 1st chapter, what should have been an easy assignment for Stefan for his Mistress, Marsilia, goes from bad to really bad in the blink of an eye. A vampire is hard enough to cope with , but a Demon possessed vampire who is on a mission...now that's trouble with a capital V. Stefan has his hands full trying to appease Marsilia and keep the peace with the werewolves. Adam has his hands full with his Pack and Mercy isn't staying out of trouble. 'Blood Bound' gets quite dark in this story, well darker than 'Moon Called'.
I keep on trying to decide if these are YA reads or older end of the scale YA reads or not YA reads. I love Adam's need to not swear in front of a woman. Mercy's character can be in the nuddy when she changes back to her human self in front of the Pack. The care that Patricia takes when writing those scenes you can tell its important it comes across the right way. Book #3 (which blew me away) , was written with the utmost care but it was a very dark and troubled book , in parts, for Mercy.
Zee is always there to help out around Mercy's Garage when she can't. No matter what, he is always there for Mercy when she needs him. I like Zee's character alot , I am still trying to get to know him as there is a lot more to Zee than he is letting on, he must keep secrets about himself and the fae. Mercy has known him 10 years and has never seen his true self, what the glamour hides.
The book covers, which I do love, show Mercy very sexily clad. In the books I love that she will be hunting for a clean T-shirt or one with limited stains, can wear the same jeans for several days but still she oozes smexiness. If stressed, or unable to sleep she bakes brownies.
I'm glad to know that Patricia Briggs was contracted to 7 books in this series with the possibility of more as I just love them:D
All the main characters have a special place in my heart. Even Ben in book # 3 , 'Iron Kissed', grows on me.

FAVE QUOTE:
"His heart's occupied elsewhere," said Ben from behind me. "And even if it weren't he's not interested in your kind. But, I'm available and ready."
"You don't have a heart," I told him.” Just a gaping hole where it should have been. "
"All the more reason for you to give me yours. "
I pounded my forehead against Warren 's back. "Tell me Ben's not flirting with me. "
"Hey," said Ben sounding hurt. "I was talking cannibalism, not romance."
