HOLIDAY ROMANCE HOP - SOURCEBOOKS & GIVEAWAY - IPAD MINI

Ready or not, Christmas is right around the corner, which means shopping, food, family — and holiday romances! This season, award winning authors Jill Shalvis, Carolyn Brown, Terry Spear, and Sarah Morgan each have Christmas romances releasing.

To get readers into the giving spirit, the authors answer the following question:
What is the best holiday present you have ever received?

Ladies, take it away!

Jill Shalvis author of One in a Million

One Christmas Eve my middle daughter was bouncing off the walls (as usual) and she jumped onto a rusty nail in her bare feet. It was late, and we of course ended up in the ER. All of us, me and her dad and her two sisters. By the time we learned she was going to be okay and able to go home, it was past dawn on Christmas morning. We all piled back into the car and into the house. For the first time there wasn’t an early morning rush to the presents. We sat around the tree stuffing our starving faces with bowls of cereal and hot chocolate. I’ll never forget that feeling of gratitude and love we all felt, just being together. No presents needed. Of course that lasted about thirty minutes…then we tore into the presents. :)

Carolyn Brown author of Cowboy Boots for Christmas

Way back when Mr. B and I were first married, he bought me something sheer, black and lacy for Christmas every single year. After three kids were born, I told him that as much as I loved the sexy lingerie and him for giving it to me; it was time for me to make breakfast in something more practical. That year, I unwrapped my lovely present to find the most gawdawful flannel nightgown ever designed and sold on the market. It was pink rosebud floral and buttoned all the way up to a Peter Pan collar, had long sleeves and reached the floor. And it would have fit a baby elephant or with a couple of sturdy poles could have served as a tent. BUT, in the bottom of the box there was one of those little black canisters that film used to come in back before digital cameras were born. And in that little canister was a screw…he hadn’t forgotten something black and something special…of course the nightgown has long since disappeared but I still have that film canister and screw in my memory box.

Grace Burrowes author of
What A Lady Needs for Christmas

The best present I have ever received, at the holidays or any time, is love. The love of my family, of my friends, of a few special fellows along the way, of my cats and dogs and horses. I’m fond of marzipan too, if it’s made with really good dark chocolate.

Terry Spear author of A Highland Wolf Christmas

Having my grown children and their spouses join me for Christmas one year, both of them at the same time. We had to rearrange sleeping accommodations so everyone could fit, but it was the best Christmas ever. My oven went out and we were baking the turkey in pieces in a small convection oven, but we had a blast.

Sarah Morgan author of Maybe This Christmas

My husband proposed to me at Christmas on a romantic snowy walk in the mountains. I started the walk wearing scarves and a hat and ended it wearing a diamond. The real gift was the promise of a future together, not the ring (although that was amazing too!).

  9. The best Christmas present ever for me was my son taking his first steps Christmas morning in front of the tree...toward toys of course! That was pretty special. And Christmas stories? Gotta be a romance first of all, then it can be in any genre 'cause I read 'em all (Historical, Contemporary, Suspense, Paranormal). It's all about being positive and having the HEA. The holidays are "feel good" time!! Thanks for the post. jdh2690@gmail.com
