Sadie White's summer job isn't going to be on the beach life-guarding or working at rental booths like most kids her age. With her single mother's increasing pregnancy and refusal to work, Sadie has to take over her mother's job as a domestic servant for one of the wealthy summer families on a nearby island.

When the family arrives at their summer getaway, Sadie is surprised to learn that the owner of the house is Jax Stone, one of the hottest teen rockers in the world. If Sadie hadn't spent her life raising her mother and taking care of the house she might have been normal enough to be excited about working for a rock star.

Even though Sadie isn't impressed by Jax's fame, he is drawn to her. Everything about Sadie fascinates Jax but he fights his attraction. Relationships never work in his world and as badly as he wants Sadie, he believes she deserves more. By the end of the summer, Jax discovers he can't breathe without Sadie.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I have a great time reading an Abbi Glines book. I’m only now getting around to reading the Sea Breeze series, I have several I can binge on.

I got to say, I think us Aussies got duped with our covers. I so love the USA covers for this series. Check out the abs on this dude!

Rawrrr...rrrr...rrrr !

Breathe is the story of Jax Stone a nineteen year old teen rock star and the seventeen year old maid/on the staff, that works at his summer home.

Sadie, I thought was an appropriate name if anybody can remember the song, Sadie the cleaning lady. I may be showing my age here.

Sadie and her pregnant mother live alone. They have no money and Sadie is sent out to take over her job at Jax Stone’s home, until school goes back.

Jax Stone is only in residence for the summer.

Enter Marcus. I love Marcus he reminds me a lot of Woods in the Too Far series/Rosemary Beach series. He is thoughtful and kind. He is switched on and doesn’t hesitate to help out. I am looking forward to reading his book, Because of Low, next. I really like him.

This is very much a cinderella type story, the handsome prince sweeps the poor girl off her feet. Is it believable that a seventeen year old and nineteen can declare so much love so quickly, considering his position and there ages?

Eh, who cares. To fantasize is entertaining.

The lips of the only boy I would ever love touched mine, and I forgot where we were and everything else around us.

Jax is gorgeous and talented, Sadie is very likeable and the sub characters, I totally loved.

Ms. Mary is brilliant and Mr Grey is an endearing older gentleman on the staff.

Ms. Mary is one of those motherly characters that can’t put a foot wrong. She is wise and caring and knows how to spot a little sparrow that needs nurturing. She knows how to speak her mind and earns herself a lot of respect from all the staff, even her employer.

I didn’t really get to feel Jax as the rock star. I saw how his fans behaved, but didn’t actually see him in the role that earned him his title at such a young age. We felt it from the magazine clippings and the way people behaved around him, but I liked how he was just a guy around Sadie.

“I happen to be interested in someone I don’t really see as the guy in those posters.”

“You saved me, Sadie. You may not realize it, but you did,” I told her before claiming her mouth.

I did love the idea that these two kids found each other from different worlds and the dream of it working.

“You -- he let out a low chuckle -- “you’re gonna own me, Sadie White. Damn, baby, that was sweet.”

Finally, he turned me around to face him. “Please. I need my air.”

“Damn, Sadie, I’m going to have a hard time with self-control tonight, and I swear, if I catch one guy ogling you, he’s going to be able to tell the world he got his ass kicked by Jax Stone.”

The smexi scene was ... Abbi’s-smexi-good-value, she provides for her readers, the cinema scene was smokin’ in a young love way! I understand that the original Breathe written a while back wasn't as smokin' as this one.

I am on to Because of Low now to find out what Marcus is up to. I can tell I'm addicted already.

    1. Hi Rachel, you need to pick up her YA Paranormal series. I really like it!! Yup I have been trying to find time to read this series and I have freed some time up inbetween all the other reads. Gotta get me up to date. I have secretly wanted to have a few to read in a row. I have Misbehaving that arrived last week from S & S , so that sealed it for me. Needed to start :D

They're great to read a few in a row. I read books 2, 3 & 4 in a row, then went back and read 1 and just read 5 and then 6 straight up--so much fun! Can't wait for the next few :)

  4. Ooh, you soooo got gipped on the covers. :) I've only read Glines' Vincent Boys series but I quite enjoyed it. I'm glad to hear you enjoyed Breathe so well because that means I will, too. ;) I giggled over you showing your age...I remember the song, so what does that say? Oh, and I'm finding it interesting that so many heroes are being named 'Jax'...that's my son's name. I wonder if it'll bother me?!?
