RATING: 4.25 MARCUS STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

In my debut novel, Breathe, Sadie may have fallen in love with the teen rock star, Jax Stone, but readers fell head over heels for Marcus Hardy. This is his story…

Marcus Hardy had hoped to enjoy a year away at college while he put the summer he’d rather forget behind him. But instead, he’s jerked right back to the coastal town of Sea Breeze, Alabama due to a family crisis. His dear ol' dad found himself a girlfriend only a few years older than Marcus. So now his sister needs help dealing with their mother who is mentally falling apart. The only bright spot to returning is the fascinating red head who sleeps over several times a week. The problem is she's sleeping in bed with his new roommate, Cage York.

Willow “Low” Foster needs a place to live. Running to Cage’s apartment every time her sister kicks her out isn’t exactly a long term solution. Juggling her courses at the local community college and a part time job doesn’t produce excess income. But Cage has a new roommate and suddenly sleeping over at her best friend’s apartment isn’t such a bad thing. Not when she gets to see those sexy green eyes of Marcus Hardy’s twinkle when he smiles at her like he wants her there.

Even though Cage seems a little territorial where Low is concerned, Marcus finds time to spend with Low without upsetting his roommate. Cage may use his small college baseball star persona to sleep with every hot female in his path but he’s still under the disillusion that when he’s through sowing his wild oats, he’s going to marry Low. Marcus intends to change that assumption for both Cage and Low. Until his carefully laid plans come crashing down with a revelation he never expected. He’ll have to choose between Low or his family. Because once the truth comes out.... there’s no other choice.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I really liked Marcus in Breathe, book # 1 in the Sea Breeze series. He doesn’t disappoint in this installment.

Marcus Hardy is simply a really nice, handsome, smexi lad. He is very caring, we learnt that from Breathe. He also falls hard and fast for a girl. He wasn’t successful in Breathe, there was a rock star he couldn’t compete with, but now, he is in a league of his own.

The day he opens the door and finds a gorgeous red head, is the day he falls hard and fast, again. This time, it’s a keeper. It’s not all smooth sailing, Abbi will NEVER give you smooth sailing, that would be boring.

Low is a great character. She has lost a lot in her life. Cage is trying to make up for that, in his own way. He is always there for her.

“Come here.” Cage pulled me against him, and the familiar smell calmed me. “I noticed they were gone this morning. I’m not leaving you. Do you hear me? I. Am. Not. Leaving. You.”

Enter Cage. Cage, I have to admit, I felt rather awkward with this guys ability to be a man whore, yet express his wishes to marry Low, in the future. It was kind of ridiculous. He was always there for Low, he was her best friend, he understood her, he would swoop in and save her, but then pop back out to resume his man whore activities for the night.

WT?

A little bizzarro, but at the same time, different. Now if he didn’t say he was going to marry Low one day, then I could accept best-friend-who-likes-to-bang-the-chicks-every-night-of-the-week, scenario. But he wanted to marry her one day, and Low knew it, but he would screw anything that had great tits and was up to his specifications.

It was a tad awkward sometimes reading Cage coming home smelling of whiskey and sex, then turning into this bed buddy who wanted to spoon.

Love this cover!!
Low is very casual about Cage’s extra curricular activities. She just shrugs it off.

She has this whole, 'meh' attitude towards Cages sexual shenanigans.
The little twist I did see through, but, that is ok. It was pretty easy to put two and two together.

Abbi sure knows how to make things difficult for two peeps who are in luurrvve with each other.

Larissa was a gorgeous little addition to the story line. I loved her. I liked watching Cage with her, it gave me another side to Cage.

Amanda seemed a lot stronger character in Breathe, that was my initial impression of her, then in this installment... not so much.

I’m looking forward to While It Lasts as it is Cage’s book. I want to see if he can redeem himself in my eyes. I know he loves Low, and literally will stop his man whoring... in the middle of man whoring, to go to her when she calls. Low is top priority.

But can Abbi win me over with him?

Well, I know she will. I am rather eager to start his book. Mind you I think I would want to get his pecker checked out before...

Dang! I love the USA covers for this series. I am so glad I don't judge a book by its cover. I think our Aussie covers need a darn good makeover, that's just my personal opinion.
