WRITTEN IN MY OWN BLOOD

It is June 1778, and the world seems to be turning upside-down. The British Army is withdrawing from Philadelphia, with George Washington in pursuit, and for the first time, it looks as if the rebels might actually win. But for Claire Fraser and her family, there are even more tumultuous revolutions that have to be accommodated.

Her former husband, Jamie, has returned from the dead, demanding to know why in his absence she married his best friend, Lord John Grey. Lord John's son, the ninth Earl of Ellesmere, is no less shocked to discover that his real father is actually the newly-resurrected Jamie Fraser, and Jamie's nephew Ian Murray discovers that his new-found cousin has an eye for the woman who has just agreed to marry him.

And while Claire is terrified that one of her husbands may be about to murder the other, in the 20th century her descendants face even more desperate turns of events. Her daughter Brianna is trying to protect her son from a vicious criminal with murder on his mind, while her husband Roger has disappeared into the past...

Diana Gabaldon is the internationally bestselling author of the Outlander series as well as the acclaimed Lord John historical crime series. She lives with her family in Scottsdale, Arizona.

******

I got put onto the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon while I was chatting on facebook a couple months ago on my page. I can't remember if it was Sarez or Tara who told me about it.

So I promptly looked it up.

Bloody hell it has some 680,000 plus ratings on Goodreads

Readers love it.

I have been on a waiting list at my local seaside library for a few months now, for Outlander/Cross Stitch # 1. First book comes under either title.

Looks like I have a few months left to wait. I am about half way through the reservation list.

Getting there. I think it's at 6 out of 13. Me being # 13.

The following is taken from a media email I got from Hachette.

The outstanding OUTLANDER series comprised of “big, enormous books “ as Diana calls them, which began with CROSS STITCH 20 years ago. Diana says of CROSS STITCH “If you’ve never read any of the series, I’d suggest starting here."

The OUTLANDER series garners fervent fan interest all over the world and we have been almost overwhelmed by requests and queries regarding the publication of WRITTEN IN MY OWN HEARTS BLOOD in Australia.

WRITTEN IN MY OWN HEARTS BLOOD by Diana Gabaldon
will be published in Australia and internationally
 on June 10

We very much hope that Diana will come to Australia in 2015, but she certainly will not in 2014.

BUT – we can announce that the TV series OUTLANDER is coming soon to Australian screens – sometime shortly after August 9 on SoHo.

You can check the tv trailer out here looks awesome.

Here's a little fun thing to do with Pocket Jamie.

    1. These are pretty big reads so it is understandable to find time as busy bloggers to get through each one. That is like 4 books to one of Diana's books, but CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!

  3. I STILL haven't read this series. *hangs head* I know I need to. I have a good friend who's been trying to get me to read it for YEARS! I don't know if I'll watch the tv program but I like the looks of the guy playing Jamie. ;)
