Spencer Shrike is a plotter. Known for his ingenious, albeit illegal, plans that keeps the Team running efficiently and out of jail, he carries this same love of order into his personal life. He’s kept his long-time main squeeze on the sidelines for years as he builds the Shrike Bikes empire.

Veronica Vaughn is an explosion ready to happen. Ronnie lives in the here and now. She lives for today. She knows what she wants, and she wants it now. And right now Ron the Bomb Vaughn wants Spencer shrike to leave her the hell alone. She’s done playing his game. She’s done waiting around. She’s moving forward with her own plots, plans, and dreams and she’s moving forward tonight. Ron the Bomb is finally—finally—gonna get some satisfaction.

Too bad Spencer Shrike is standing in her way.

A NOVELLA OF ABOUT 80 PAGES

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

BOOM!

This novella went off like the title.

Like a BOMB!

I LOVED!

LOVED!

Spending a day in the life of Spencer Shrike

J.A. Huss never disappoints me. I can dance on the table if it makes you pick up this series of books and novellas. I would even tandem sky jump.

Yes. I . Would.

I came across Rook & Ronin # 1 , Tragic, for a blog tour and I have not looked back. I am going to be uber sad when I don’t have one of these books to pick up. I literally drop everything to read the latest one. I don’t care if it is a novella, because J.A. can write them like you are reading a full length book.

I see it. I read it. I review it.

Some novella’s can be a bit hit and miss with authors. I think they can be hard to be interesting in a short amount of pages.

J.A. Huss has no problem in this department. She could write endless novella’s on her characters and I would pick them up. She is that good at them.

Money well spent.

Spencer is just such a RawrrrrrRrrrr character. I am in love with all her lads inner monologuing. They can be so funny , so informative and we kind of just want to smack their bodies up against a wall and have our wicked way with them.

Spencer is no exception.

I’m an accomplished stalker. Recon is part of my team job. Ford does the virtual things, but I’m the guy on the ground.

So I reconned Bombshell.

All J.A. Huss’s lads are different. They have a voice that you instantly know who they are, even if you didn’t have a name attached.

They are all very talented and love their woman right.

I wasn’t overly sure of Veronica Vaughn when I first met her in Manic, I think it was. Rook & Ronin # 2. I thought she may have been a bit of a bimbette.

Not true. I really love Veronica. She has a family that is overprotective and smothering her a bit with their need to protect.

But no, I see her oldest brother Vic’s bike, her father Vern’s bike, her twin middle brothers Vinn and Vonn’s bikes, and her baby brother Vann’s Vespa.

I did laugh at this paragraph. I think J.A. may have laughed when she wrote it.

I thought Spence was going for the blonde, big chested chick, but still a player. I wanted more from Spence, I wanted to see deeper into that finger shooting guy.

And I did.

This novella is not to be missed. It speaks volumes on both Ronnie and Spence.

“When I ask if I can touch you tonight, I want you to say yes. When I ask if I can kiss you tonight, I want you to say yes. When I ask if I can have you tonight, I want you to say yes. One word, that’s it. One word is all it takes. And I really will change your life.”

I loved having Ford and Ronin along for the ride too. These lads have their trial ever looming in the background and they are always up to something.

I love this. I love how they connect. How they play off each other.

J.A. really packs a days worth into eighty pages. From the first page to the last, I was totally digging this novella.

This is almost a tease for what’s to come. Spencer has a scene where he talks dirty.

*toes curl*

We get a new character who finds themselves sweet talked into the story line.

These lads always get what they want. They have the gift of the gab.

I wave the flag for this series to keep going for a long time. Each book is such a great escapism.

These lads never do anything dull. They don't play by the rules and their smexiness just leaps off the page.

You can see in the writing how much fun J.A. has with her characters.  Now * sigh * I am left wanting more.

Guns is releasing March 31st 2014. I am there in the front row.

If you ask me the question, ‘Should I read this series from the start?’

My answer would be...

Do birds fly?
