It's a good thing Dru Anderson is fast. Because the sucker chasing her isn't slowing down—and he won't rest until he has tasted her blood and silenced her heart . . .

Dru's best friend, Graves, and her strange and handsome savior, Christophe, are ready to help her take on the ultimate evil. But will their battle for Dru's heart get in the way of her survival?

This series just keeps getting written better and better. Lili St. Crow does not shy away from making her characters work hard to survive what is thrown at them.

Dru, Graves and company, have arrived at the Schola Prima. It is wrongly assumed that, Dru will be safe until she ‘blooms’ at the numero uno Schola for training. Bodyguards and all she wants are at her finger tips, but, so is a visit from Anna and the Order and they want to know what has been going on.

Dru is coming into her own and feeling the ‘mojo’ of the ‘svetocha’ more and more. I love her devotion to Ash. It makes me wonder what their friendship will be like if she can save him from being ‘Broken’ and give him his life back. She is the only one willing to try. Ash has saved her several times now from certain death. Why??

A quite funny shopping spree had me laughing I must Google, Midol, I think I know what it is? ( girlie products???) . Graves and Dru go through some more of those awkward, I like you , do you like me, moments. Sometimes I want to grab Graves by the scruff of his neck and give him a gentle shake . I know he takes his friendship with Dru very seriously and wouldn’t want to jeopardise it.

Anna decides to spend some one on one quality time getting to know Dru. Graves throws a hissy fit and decides to run it off, leaving Dru with quite a lot on her plate .

Christophe and Dru...WOW!! I wonder how that turn of events will pan out. I am beginning to have a line up of suspects in my mind of who is doing some tattling and wanting Dru sacrificed.

If Sergej can’t pluck you from your safe nest, the next best thing is to lure you away...seriously he must be running out of evil henchmen/women, time to take a different approach. The bait he is dangling this time means a whole lot more to Dru than her father’s bill fold. One that has me biting my nails waiting for ‘Defiance’ , I need to know ........

If Sergej wants you dead....well nothing is going to stop him.

About now I feel like rubbing my hands together and doing an evil laugh .... ”mwah..ha..ha..haaaaaa”

This series is a MUST read!!!! Yes that is Christophe on the cover...hmmmm he's much better than the Christophe on Betrayals cover. I really like the Graves on Betrayals cover yet try to visualise him as this much bigger, muscley Graves now. If this series was ever made into a movie ( fingers crossed) the dude playing Graves would have to pull a Taylor Lautner and buff himself up.

  1. I skimmed the review because I haven't read the series yet, and I don't want to be spoiled! But I will say I have always meant to start reading this series, and just never found the time. I haven't really heard much about it either, but since you enjoyed it so much it really makes me want to read it. Thanks so much for the recommendation! :)

  2. Hi Lilly Bear,

I had the opportunity to read these ages ago and I didn't. I deliberately thought I would wait until Jealousy was released as I like to read as much of a series as I can. I hate waiting for a year inbetween books. I knew Defiance was being released shortly so I read them. I loved!!! this series. I have done the same with Vampire Academy. I actually have all the series in my bookshelf but have put off reading them. I must find the time. You will really enjoy this series, Strange Angels there is I think one more book after Defiance and I am going to have to wait until 2012 for that ?? but it will be worth it:D

  3. OOOh I LOVED this book. I cannot wait for the next one.. I believe it comes out in.. June? July? something like that :) I am totally team Graves - it creeps me out that Christophe liked Dru's mom lol

    That Bookish Girl

  4. LOL!!@ Sarah, I know what you mean , but Christophe did explain that it wasn't quite like that. I think it comes out in April as I have ordered Defiance from Book Depository:D I can't wait!!!!
Such an awesome series. I haven't read any of Lili St. Crows other works yet. I am Team Christophe, but Graves keeps getting written more and more manly and oooo I like him too. Oh the choices I must make:D

  5. I know what Midol is now...Midol is a brand of an over-the-counter drug for menstrual cramping and other effects related to premenstrual syndrome and menstruation...well I was thinking the 'other' girlie products..but now I get the boys!!!

We love hearing from you, your comments mean a lot to us.
