BOOK REVIEW:

This was a nice light , quick read for the YA reader. I enjoyed Eve and Jess's friendship and the mystery that is Deepdene population 2,704. This is probably for your younger YA reader. The girls spend vacations together , money isn't a problem for they live in the Hamptons. Lip gloss colour is important as well as the T-shirt that makes the right statement for the first day back at school.

I liked that Jess really understood Eve and was there for her no matter what. Eve is going through a change , enter Luke and Mal the local new hotties just arrived in town. Luke is the son of the Preacher, he is a player with the girls, can he be trusted? Gorgeous Mal has moved into the only residence unable to be bought or rented out in the Hamptons due to its past history and renovated it to its former glory.

Local girls are ranting about shadows and demons and winding up in a mental hospital. Eve is developing a skill she is not sure how to control and crushing on one of the new guys in town.

Eve and Jess are slowly learning there are bigger things happening in Deepdene than they may be able to handle, but somebody has to handle it. Deepdene isn't all it's cracked up to be, it has a past that wants to take over. Eve's family has a rumoured past. Will Eve or Jess wind up in the mental hospital strapped down screaming about shadows and demons?

Why is every girl Luke has kissed since arriving in Deepdene wind up in the mental hospital?
