Jillian Conrad's blood has killed the vampire king. Now an enemy to all vampires, she is targeted for elimination. So is the infant daughter of the dead king. If Jillian doesn't stand in the way of her death, then everyone, living or dead, is in great peril.
BOOK REVIEW:
I enjoyed this installment more than the first book, ‘Nightshade’ in this series. I am rather baffled after reading some reviews that some readers thought to read book 2 before book 1. That kind of doesn’t make sense to me as it’s a series to be read in order. I think you would miss some of the reasoning’s behind certain things Michelle Rowen has written into book 2.
Having said that, I still think Michelle can dig a bit deeper with her writing. I am really getting into this series now and am looking forward to the next instalment.
Michelle is quite dark with her writing and she threw some changes at the reader in ‘Bloodlust’.
Just about everybody has something go whicky whacky with them and end result is something they have to deal with for better or for worse.
Jillian is bleeding black tears, not a good sign, Declan’s sanity is questionable, Noah gets a makeover, Declan gets a makeover, the twins face off, there is blood and gore and lust and love. A good baby sitter is hard to find, brotherly love...not much, a loyal soldier is breakable and Matthias gets kudos for being very organised.
Jillian spends a lot of time in pain, as she is slowly dying from being injected. The pain is shutting her body down, it is gradually getting too much for her body to come back from. I do like how brave Jillian is considering, she has been thrown into a life that has forced her to be separated from the only family she has left. She handles it all very well. Then she has these two guys, who are related, like we are talking uncle Matthias and nephew Declan , one is lusting or is it love and the other is wanting to love her but can he allow himself. Either way the relies have their eye on Jillian....and then to make it more interesting.......
I do enjoy Matthias, he is a bit of a laugh and he is ever so naughty. I can’t help liking Matthias that much more at the moment. I love Declan, he is uber smexi , but I can’t put my finger on it at the moment. I think I need more convincing from Michelle.
