BOOK REVIEW - RAKE'S REDEMPTION by CHANTAL FERNANDO - WIND DRAGONS MC # 4 - GALLERY BOOKS - ADULT BIKER ROMANCE

By: Chantal Fernando
Published By : Gallery Books, Simon & Schuster
Released : Available Now
Details : Paperback From Publisher for Honest Review, 320 Pages

RATING: 4 RAKE, VINNIE & TALON STARS !

In New York Times bestselling author Chantal Fernando’s latest novel in the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club series, Rake—baddest of the bad boys—gets his own romance at last!

Rake is known for being up for anything, in and out of the bedroom. He’s wild, he’s deadly, yet quick with a joke or a stolen kiss. Known as the player of the WDMC, he loves women, the more the merrier. However, behind his womanizing façade, Rake hides the pain of losing his first love, Bailey. He hasn’t loved anyone since, and doesn’t think he ever will.

Seven years after their split, Rake and Bailey run into each other at the MC’s favorite club. Old wounds resurface, secrets are spilled...and passionate feelings are awakened. But they’ve each done things to hurt the other, hurt them too badly to get over it—haven’t they? Only when Bailey’s connection to Rake puts her in danger from another Club member does he realize that there’s nothing he won’t do to protect her—and claim her as his once again.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I enjoy reading each book in the Wind Dragon series. Every book is always a quick and easy read. For me the characters aren’t too deep. Sure they have issues, but things get quickly resolved around the same part of each instalment. There is a definite formula to Chantal’s writing in the Wind Dragon series.

From the very first book when we are introduced to Rake’s character, who is cocky and enjoys partaking in some ménage sexual fun, I was interested in Rake’s character.

I wonder why?

When we finally get his book, we still see that cocky bugger, but things aren’t all what they seem.

I think I was expecting some full on BDSM in this installment, only because of how he was portrayed in Dragon’s Lair.

I always had a bit of a crush on Talon, he’s a little mischievous the way he behaves. I very much enjoyed his limelight in this book.

I think I might have a lady boner for Vinnie now.

*wink*

I give this instalment a solid 4 stars. At times Bailey was kinda immature, but that just might be me being a bit of an older fart, although I can read all age brackets usually no problem.

By: Chantal Fernando
Published By: Pocket Books, Gallery, Simon & Schuster

RATING: 4 RAWRRR IRISH STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

From USA TODAY bestselling author Chantal Fernando comes a brand new Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club e-novella, full of sexy bad-boy bikers, strong heroines, and steamy romance!

Even by Wind Dragon Motorcycle Club standards, Irish was always a bit of a dark horse. Not one to confide his secrets, such as where he got that mysterious scar across his neck, he’s quick with his fists and even quicker to jump to the defense of his MC. But is he nimble enough to handle the woman he never saw coming? Or will she leave him with a matching scar across his heart?

Featuring scorching hot chemistry and plenty of sass, Dirty Ride is sure to rev your engine and get you immediately hooked!

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I do enjoy this series filled with hot, alpha bikers and their women and the road to love that always has speed bumps and a villain along the way.

Dirty Ride is a quick read because it is a novella.

I sooooo could have read a full length book on Irish aka Ardan. I really liked that Ardan wanted Valentina aka Tina to meet the man before the biker.

The only thing stopping me from rating this book higher is I felt the villain side of the story was rushed. We know about him, he is in the background as a potential threat and then all is over with.

I got villain whiplash.

I thought there was room for letting the reader get to see him more.

Man, I would have enjoyed a full length read on Irish he is gorgeous.

Looking forward to Rake’s redemption.

BOOK REVIEW - TRACKER'S END by CHANTAL FERNANDO - WIND DRAGONS MC # 3 - GALLERY BOOKS - BIKER ROMANCE

By: Chantal Fernando
Published By: Gallery Books
Released: Available Now
Details: Digital copy via NetGalley for honest review, 352 Pages

RATING: 4.25 TRACKER STARS!!

Blurb: Goodreads

The third in a sexy romance series from the bestselling author of Saxon and Toxic Girl about the bad boys of the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club and the women who fall in love with them.

Tracker is everything I’ve ever wanted.

I see him. I’ve watched time change him.

I’ve been patient, but he still hasn’t noticed me. Not the way I want him to. The more time I spend with the MC, the more I understand.

When you want something, you have to take it. You have to fight for it.

And Tracker is more than worth fighting for…

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

Suddenly he says, “I don’t think I’ve ever just enjoyed silence with a woman.”

I really enjoyed Tracker’s End, I am rather addicted to this MC series.

Tracker is simply gorgeous. He did have me scratching my head at one stage with his behavior, I was like dude, you need to chill and let the woman speaketh.

Rake...goodness me, we get to see more of his shenanigans and there was a particularly panty dropping scene with Tracker and Lana. I don’t think Rake is gonna let her live that one down.

The MC lads are all gorgeous in this series with their own hang ups and what not which makes a great MC read.

Faye definitely six years down the track has come into her own as the old lady of the Prez. She was so different to when she was in Dragon’s Lair.

I love seeing Talon pop up and there is another biker gang introduced.

I am looking forward to the next one in the series.

BOOK REVIEW - ARROW'S HELL by CHANTAL FERNANDO - WIND DRAGONS MC # 2 - MC ROMANCE - GALLERY BOOKS

By: Chantal Fernando
Published By: Gallery Books
Released : 16th June 2015
Details: Digital copy via netgalley for honest review from USA publisher.

RATING: 4.5 WIND DRAGONS STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

Being the younger sister of a Wind Dragons MC member isn’t as great as you’d think it would be.

I can’t escape the details of my brother’s exploits.
No one tells me anything.
Men who know who I am tend to stay away from me.

And worst of all:
The members of the MC are off-limits.

When Arrow catches my eye, I make it my mission to make him happy again.

When I fall head over heels in love with him, I just hope he will be there to catch me.
And that my brother doesn’t kill him.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I had a laugh out loud time with Dragon’s Lair, Wind Dragons MC # 1. I enjoyed being introduced to all the lads and their fun characteristics. It was a lighter MC read for the most part.

With Arrow's Hell, it is darker and I will admit I assumed for some unknown reason that I was going to be in Arrow’s head, for a reasonable amount of this book, but that is ok. Just a personal assumption.

I really loved the wonderful twist I got.

Dayum!

I really enjoyed Arrow’s Hell. Tracker is a fave of mine and now so is another character... a new one. I am so looking forward to Tracker’s story up next.

Giddy up!

Oh and Rake, well something tells me he is gonna be a whole pile of naughty to read.

I do recommend this MC series and I'm in for however many books Chantal writes in this series.

BOOK REVIEW - WALLBANGER by ALICE CLAYTON - COCKTAIL # 1 - ADULT CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE - GALLERY BOOKS

By: Alice Clayton
Published By: Gallery Books
Released: Available Now
Details: Paperback from Simon & Schuster for honest review, 365 Pages

RATING: 4.5 SIMON & CLIVE STARS!!

Blurb: Goodreads

The first night after Caroline moves into her fantastic new San Francisco apartment, she realizes she's gaining an intimate knowledge of her new neighbor's nocturnal adventures. Thanks to paper-thin walls and the guy's athletic prowess, she can hear not just his bed banging against the wall but the ecstatic response of what seems (as loud night after loud night goes by) like an endless parade of women. And since Caroline is currently on a self-imposed dating hiatus, and her neighbor is clearly lethally attractive to women, she finds her fantasies keep her awake even longer than the noise. So when the wallbanging threatens to literally bounce her out of bed, Caroline, clad in sexual frustration and a pink baby-doll nightie, confronts Simon Parker, her heard-but-never-seen neighbor. The tension between them is as thick as the walls are thin, and the results just as mixed. Suddenly, Caroline is finding she may have discovered a whole new definition of neighborly...

In a delicious mix of silly and steamy, Alice Clayton dishes out a hot and hilarious tale of exasperation at first sight...

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I’ve had Wallbanger on my Kindle for a few years. I kept telling myself to make time, but I didn’t. Then the publisher gave me the first few paperbacks in the series, so I’m all over this like Clive the clever pussy cat.

Wallbanger simply put is a whole bunch of fun...and Simon...and Clive...and banging.

Clever titles in the series, ( Wallbanger, Rusty Nailed, Screwdrivered, Mai Tai’d Up, Last Call) and clever series title, Cocktail.

Alice brings laughter and silliness that is a page turner.

I LOVED the ending...

Very, very, clever!

Alice has such a way with words.

If I were impaled on the Wallbanger Wondercock, I imagine I could compartmentalize as well...

She knows how to use Clive too.

We turned to see Clive sitting on the dresser. He stared back at us, sighed again, and proceeded to lick his bum.

I enjoyed myself so much I’ve already started reading Rusty Nailed.

Wallbanger is a great read, fun times, some sexy moments and a lot of shenanigans and Simon’s sure to impress.

Thump!

Thump!

Thump!

BOOK REVIEW - DRAGON'S LAIR by CHANTAL FERNANDO - WIND DRAGONS MC # 1 - MC ROMANCE - SIMON & SCHUSTER - GALLERY BOOKS

By: Chantal Fernando
Published By: Simon & Schuster, Gallery Books
Released : Available Now
Details: Paperback from publisher for honest review, 273 Pages

RATING: 4.5 DEX, TRACKER, ARROW, RAKE, IRISH & PROSPECT VINNIE STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

The first in a new sexy romance series from bestselling author Chantal Fernando about the bad boys of the Wind Dragons Motorcycle Club and the women who fall in love with them.

When I found my boyfriend cheating on me, I did something stupid.

Or should I say, someone?

Because of that mistake, I’m now stuck in a world I don’t belong in.

I’m a law student. They’re criminals. He’s the vice president of a motorcycle club. I’m a good girl with a strict upbringing. He’s my ex-boyfriend’s brother.

And I’m screwed.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I really loved Dragon’s Lair. It is a lighter MC read, granted, but I believe this was done deliberately so I am rating accordingly.

What I like foremost in a book is the feeling I get when I connect with the main characters. If I don’t have that, I got nothing.

I loved, Dex aka Sin, Tracker, Arrow, Rake, Irish and also prospect, Vinnie.

These lads all make an entrance and show us a little bit more of their personality in this first instalment.

They are fun, yet there is still this dangerous don’t fark with me, about them.

I did get a twist in the story I didn’t see coming, and I like when that happens.

There are fun moments and there are deeper moments.

This was a super quick read for me about the same time it takes me to read an Abbi Glines , Sea Breeze novel.

I have been reading a lot of looonnnggg books lately and Dragon's Lair arrived on my doorstep from the publisher and I cracked it open late that night.

Chantal kept me up until 2.49am and I finished it off in the morning. It was only like a three to four hour read for me.

What I liked about this MC read was Chantal made it her own. She wasn’t afraid to have Faye behave the way she did around the Wind Dragons members, even Jimbo, LOL!

I will leave you to work that out.

I am really looking forward to reading Arrow’s Hell next.

Here’s a taste of Arrow.

I walk out into the kitchen the next morning rubbing my eyes. I stop in my tracks as I see a man standing over the stove.

Naked.

He has an extremely white ass and is frying something in the pan.

“There goes my appetite,” I mutter to myself. Arrow turns around, completely unabashed.

“Mornin’,” he says, checking out my pajamas. I stare at his huge penis in horror but am unable to move my eyes away. Suddenly, it gets hard, pointing right at me. Like an arrow.

Lightbulb moment.

“Seriously?” I say, covering my eyes with my hand.

“Bit late for that,” he says, chuckling. “I saw you looking.”

“And I saw you saw me looking,” I reply, pouring myself some juice and averting my gaze.

“I think I had the wrong idea about you...” he says, turning back to the stove.

“How so?”

He shrugs. “Thought you were some tramp trying to trap Dex.”

“And how do you know I’m not?” I ask him.

“Good sense of character,” he says. “I’m never wrong.”

“Bold claim,” I say as he turns around. My eyes straight away lower. I can’t even help it.

I point at it when he takes a step in my direction. “Don’t being that thing near me!”

He laughs. “It won’t bite you; don’t worry.”

“You’re weird,” I announce.

He shakes his head. “Do you just say the first thing that pops up into your fuckin’ head?”

I think it over. “Pretty much. Is that going to be a problem?”

“Probably.”

Just for the record, I would have peeked too.

BOOK REVIEW - MANWHORE by KATY EVANS - MANWHORE # 1 - CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE - GALLERY BOOKS - SIMON & SCHUSTER

By: Katy Evans
Published By: Gallery Books, Simon & Schuster
Released : Available Now
Details: Paperback from Publisher for Honest review, 354 Pages

RATING: 4.5 SAINT STARS!!

Blurb: Goodreads

Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player—without getting played?

This is the story I've been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.

Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.

Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.

But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I'm the one discovering him...or if he's uncovering me.

What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I haven’t read any Katy Evans in a while so I was sure pleased to receive a copy of Manwhore to grab onto and escape inside. Thank you Simon & Schuster.

Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint is a great character. He is what readers fantasize about.

Wealthy, intelligent, loves women but you want to be THE ONE. He has friends from before he was the man he is now who treat him like one of the guys even though he is so much more. He has the driver (Otis) who will be there when he clicks his fingers, you will find yourself on a yacht, in his ridiculously cool apartment, you will have toe curling sex.

BUT!

What happens when you don’t hold up the two things Saint holds above love?

Let’s talk characters now.

Saint is a given, he definitely has me reaching for book 2 when it is released. I really liked how Saint’s character layers were peeled back and how Rachel voiced her little discoveries.

Rachel is a little interesting and she grew on me.

Gina has some major male hang ups.

Wynn is looking for a guy, at least.

Tahoe is a lot like a mischievous college guy, but he’s not. I’m not sure actually what Tahoe and Callan do for a crust but they certainly are like wingmen calling dibs, they kinda remind me of two surfer dudes, without being surfer dudes.

Cliffhanger I hear people hollering...I don’t think so, personally. A lot of readers when they hear the word 'cliffie' they start worrying about waiting for a couple books to be released before they can cope with a cliffie.

I think it was quite foreseeable what was going to happen when you have a character like ??? in the mix.

Manwhore makes me wanna get back into the Real series and finish it off sooner than later.

I give this one a solid 4.5 stars. The kissing scenes were superbly hot and tummy tingling sexy . Saint made my lips feel like they were being kissed.

One can wish.

BOOK REVIEW - SEMPRE by J.M. DARHOWER - FOREVER # 1 - GALLERY BOOKS

By: J.M. Darhower
Published By: Gallery Books
Released: Available Now
Details: Paperback from library, 516 Pages

RATING: 4.5 MAFIA STARS!

Blurb: Goodreads

THIS IS A STORY ABOUT SACRIFICE . . . DEATH . . . LOVE . . . FREEDOM. THIS IS A STORY ABOUT FOREVER.

Haven Antonelli and Carmine DeMarco grew up under vastly different circumstances. Haven, a second-generation slave, was isolated in the middle of the desert, her days full of hard work and terrifying abuse. Carmine, born into a wealthy Mafia family, lived a life of privilege and excess. Now, a twist of fate causes their worlds to collide. Entangled in a web of secrets and lies, they learn that while different on the surface, they have more in common than anyone would think. In a world full of chaos, where money and power rule, Haven and Carmine yearn to break free, but a string of events that began before either of them were born threatens to destroy them instead.

Murder and betrayal are a way of life, and nothing comes without a price-especially not freedom. But how much will they have to sacrifice? Can they escape their pasts? And, most of all, what does it mean to be free?

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

Sempre is a book I’ve been wanting to read for a while. I hadn’t read any reviews before I read it, I just looked at the ratings and the cover. I understood it was Mafia, but little else.

I am still unsure if this is mature YA or new adult? The main characters, Carmine and Haven are seventeen years old, Dominic is nineteen, but then you have a cast of older Mafia characters so the story is very mixed age.

I didn’t realize this was fan fiction, developed more into a series until after I read Sempre and read some of the reviews.

I really enjoyed what J.M Darhower did with her cast of characters.

I was rather drawn to Vincent aka Dr DeMarco, as his character intrigued me throughout this first instalment. We learn more and get to understand his motives and it clears up how I was feeling about why he did what he did and his said behavior with what he did.

Vincent is always being dragged off or rather summoned, because he has a debt to pay and he always has these mood swings.

Haven is a second generation slave in this day and age.

WOW! She had it tough.

I would have really liked to have felt more depth from her character when it came to her emotions with being in a better environment and how she was raised. She certainly showed us some emotions with her flinching and nervousness, but this girl from birth was very badly abused and her mental state had to be quite affected. She saw death from a very early age, she was shown no kindness growing up.

That is my only, personal issue I have with Haven. I love how she is intelligent, and very well adjusted, considering, but there was a part of me that needed to see her more developed. She was timid and did her job in the DeMarco household. Emotionally she was shut down for a while, but she would have been very scarred, mentally. You would have had to have been. She was very accepting of Carmine. Something was missing there with her character for me. This is just my one opinion.

“There are all kinds of creatures in there,” Dominic warned. “Fish. Bugs. Snakes.”

She smiled as the mud squished between her toes. “I’m not afraid of what’s in this water.”

“I thought all chicks were afraid of snakes.”

“Not me.” She laughed. “I grew up with scorpions.”

But hey, everybody is loving this book, so that is just a personal issue of mine.

Haven is the character I think that will blossom into more than I can imagine at the moment.

I really liked Corrado’s character. He’s a solid guy underneath the Mafia suit, yet I wouldn’t mess with him.

Carmine and Dominic are such polar opposites. I loved Dominic’s friendly, brotherly attitude toward Haven. I loved how he called her ‘twinkle toes.’

Carmine is a hot head and very much his father. He loves Haven but he still has his moments. I felt sorry for him the way his own father talked to him, that can’t have been healthy.

Nicholas seemed a character to serve one purpose, I kind of saw that coming.

The book does slow down in parts, yet there is still a lot going on with all the characters, if that makes sense. It is a big book, over five hundred pages.

This is a story with violence, love, betrayal, torture, bullets are flying, shiz is going down and there is death, after all it is the Mafia.

I read that the movie rights were sold a couple years ago. I could actually see this as a movie. I look forward to seeing what happens with that bit of news.

I have Sempre Redemption in my hands and I'm keen to see where the sequel leads Carmine and Haven.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I love him.
He’s not just a star, he’s the whole fucking sky to me.
He’s the sun and every planet in this galaxy.

REMINGTON TATE

RIPTIDE

RIP

REMY

ALPHA MALE

FIGHTER

COMPLICATED

BRILLIANT CHARACTER

Love, Love, Love, the character Remington.

Katy has written a magnificently, complicated, handful, Alpha male lead. As complicated as he is, he is also such an amazing character with the way he expresses himself through music.

He drags his thumb along my jaw like he’s memorizing it. Ripples shoot across my body, shooting from his thumb straight to my core as he continues caressing my face, all the time watching me with those breathtaking, heartbreaking, beautiful blue eyes as though engrossed. His voice is velvet on my skin. “Until I saw this lovely girl in Seattle, with big gold eyes, and pink, full lips … and I wondered if she could understand me…” My chest heaves at his unexpected words, and when he bends his head closer, his gaze almost asking permission, I border on sensory overload as his scent of soap and shampoo and water cling to my nostrils.

The ache for his touch throbs through me, but instead of reaching for me, he spreads the towel and draws it over my body and gently covers me. His voice is rough with emotion. “I want to say so many things, Brooke, and I just can’t find the words to tell them to you.” He sets his forehead on mine and inhales deeply. Slowly, still breathing me in, he drags his nose along the length of mine. “You tie me up in knots.” He presses my mouth with his. Briefly. Then he withdraws, breathing hard, and looks at me with heavy-lidded eyes. “I want to play you a thousand different songs so you get a clue of what … I feel inside me…”

All he had in terms of comfort those years was his damn headphones. Which is why the guy rarely expresses himself. He just can’t. He’s been too closed off for years.”

Remington isn’t a man of a lot of words. He gets better, but he has a closet full of disappointment at the people who should have loved him, tried better to understand him. Should have tried to save him.

Remington is a world class fighter. The beat the shit out of your opponent type fighter. Scorpion, his nemesis knows what buttons to push. You fight outside of the arena , you are done.

Scorpion is an excellent villain, but at the same time did I want to bitch slap that thug down a peg or two. He commanded obedience, but I would rather suffer the consequences than bow to this fools wim.

Grrrrr.....

He joins in, but I have to say, his laugh is infinitely more bitter than mine. “Don't mistake me for a fuck up like him. I may be fucked up but that guy eats virgins and spits them out like snake vomit.”

Brooke is very suited to Remington’s character.

Remy is a quiet man. He’s a physical man and yields to his physical instincts, but I don’t think he even knows how to verbalize his emotions very well. I wonder if I’m a little closed off, like Remy too?

Brooke is protective of Remy, she is beginning to understand some of him. She doesn’t want to be the cause of Remy losing a fight, being kicked out.

A shudder of excitement shoots through me as he leans back and looks at me with a lust that is mind-blowing. He catches my wrist and squeezes so tight, I gasp, and he glances down and releases me. “I mean it. Don’t fucking ever do that again.”

“Of course I will do it again. I won’t let you get into trouble.”

I just love him more with every bit that I learn. He’s complicated and complex, a labyrinth I want to lose myself in.

But the sexual tension.

OMG!!

From a man who fights like crazy, arouses me like no other, is the sexiest thing I’ve ever seen. From the man who plays me sexy music, gives me his t-shirt to sleep in, protects me as fiercely as a lion, and yet won’t take me when I’m naked and trembling in his arms. And suddenly I can’t stand it anymore.

“I like me when I see myself through you, Brooke.”

I loved that Remington was the one holding out. He wanted different. He wanted better than what he was giving himself.

I moan and grip his shoulders with my nails, locking him to me. “Why won’t you take me, Remington?” He groans and pulls me closer.

“Because I want you too much.”

“When I take you, you’ll be mine,” he says, a soft promise in my ear. He slides his thumb along my jaw, then gently kisses my earlobe. “You need to be certain.” His eyes are so hot that I’m on fire with the lust in them, and the word “mine” makes the empty place between my legs swell with longing. “I want you to know me first, and then, I want you to let me know if you still want me to take you.”

“Why’d you want to have sex with me? To have a fucking adventure? What was I supposed to be? Your one-night-fucking stand? I’m every woman’s adventure, damn you, and I don’t want to be yours. I want to be your fucking REAL. You get that? If I fuck you, I want you to belong to me. To be mine. I want you to give yourself to me—not Riptide!”

This is an enormously ALPHA written character. His character almost walks off the pages. It’s his looks, his presence. He doesn’t have to say much.

He just is.

There’s something incredibly animal about the way he acts around me that brings out the deep-rooted instincts from within.

Lord, he is a predator indeed.

“Because Remington’s got some alpha tendencies.”

He is a training machine. I was exhausted watching him, like seriously disciplined.

He’s an athlete in heart, mind, and body, and it’s incredibly hot to me.

But with Remington....there is a high and there is a deep low.

Remington is bipolar.

Pulling free, I harden my voice. “Look, I don’t know what you’re waiting for, but I won’t be your plaything.”

He grabs me again and brings me close, ducking his head to me. “You’re not a game. But I need to do this my way. My way.”

I get high and low and it’s all about you now, it’s not even about me anymore. I can’t sleep, can’t think, can’t concentrate worth shit anymore and it’s all because I want to be the fucking ‘one’ for you and as soon as you realize what I am, all I’ll be is a fucking mistake!”

“How can you be a mistake? Have you seen you? Have you seen what you do to me? You had me at hello, you fucking asshole! You make me want you until it hurts and then you won’t do shit!”

“Because I’m fucking bipolar! Manic. Violent. Depressive. I’m a fucking ticking time bomb, and if one of my staff messes up when I get another episode, the next person I hurt can be you. I was trying to break this to you as slowly as possible so I could at least stand a chance with you. This shit has taken everything from me. Everything. My career. My family. My fucking friends. If it takes this chance with you, I don’t fucking even know what I’m going to do, but the depression will hit me so deep, I’ll probably end up killing myself!”

Remington is a one man demolition team when he gets all ‘speedy.’

Grief flicks into his eyes again, and he looks haunted, dropping his arm from me. “I hurt everything I touch. I destroy things! That’s the only thing I’m good at. I’ve found whores in my bed I can’t remember bringing back with me, and I’ve tossed them naked out of my hotel room, pissed like hell because I don’t remember what I did. I’ve stolen shit, vandalized shit, woken up in places I don’t even remember getting to…”

Everybody wants a piece of Remington.

But Remy was the coolest bad boy ever. Everyone wanted a piece of him, especially the women. He’d get them all over him, all day, and even the guys would follow, especially when he’s getting high. Excesses abound when he’s in his beginning black days. Alcohol, women, adrenaline, adventure.”

I liked the sub character’s Riley and Pete. They grew on me. At first I thought they were there for the money, but Pete surprised me.

“Everything bad happens to Remington when he’s black,” Pete adds with a clatter of his empty coffee. “He wakes up and finds he was kicked out of boxing. Last time he bet all his money and woke up to find that if he loses this season, he’ll end up with very little to stand on. Riley and I try to get him in control, but he’s a handful. He’s too strong and too damn stubborn. And now, there’s you. I don’t know if you’re good for him, or the worst kind of Achilles’ heel there is to him. But it’s not our choice, is it? Remington wants you.”

“He suffers greatly, Brooke.

When Remy lets Brooke in, he bumps up the Alpha power wattage.

But as the angry crowd flocks around us, he clenches me tighter to him and ducks to my ear. “Not now, little firecracker.” His voice is low and calm, but the warning instantly makes me stop squirming. Using one arm, he tucks me into his side and shoves us through the throng, his big body bulldozing us through the multitude.

“I won’t let you fucking leave me.”

My throat closes up with emotion, making the words hard to pronounce. “Maybe I won’t want to.”

Pained desperation flashes in his eyes. “Give me a goddamned guarantee. I won’t let you fucking leave me, and you’re going to want to try. I’m going to be difficult and I’m going to be an ass, and sooner or later, you’re going to have fucking enough of me.”

Shaking my head, I toss my blouse to the floor, then push my skirt down my hips and step out of it. Trembling down to my soul, I stand in only my plain cotton bra and panties, my breasts rising and falling. “I’ll never have enough of you, never.”

He groans, though, like he really likes to squeeze them, and twirls his tongue up my neck. “I’ve wanted to touch you for so long, little firecracker.”

“Protecting you is my privilege. I will protect you and anything that you value as if it were mine.”

“Ditto,” he says.
“To what?”
His eyes flick up to the other passengers before grabbing my hair and drawing my head down so he can lick my lips side to side with his tongue. “To every lyric.”

A story that is definitely Real, Ripped and Raw. Remington will win your heart.
