Dani O'Malley is getting a Trilogy. Now!! I must state that I had predicted this amongst my fellow girlfriends who I have literally shoved the Fever series onto ( much to their delight) that after knowing that Karen couldn't leave the Fever World I thought Dani and Ryodan would be a wonderful smexi match. ( I saw the way Ryodan was watching Dani at Chester's when she was flitting about in the other room and his interest in her, albeit a young chicken at the time, but he did say something along the lines of , 'in time')
Now this is just my personal thoughts, only. Today over a nice lunch and champas with the girls I told them of what I had found and I atleast got the Dani bit right. I assume Karen will write her older than the wee 13yrs old she was in Fever series ( cause jailbait).....or not....???? I would love Ryodan to be her match, but..who knows with Karen she is a mistress of mystery.
According to Karen's facebook page these are the bits I have scrounged and by googling.
Karen's words quoted, not mine:
Because I keep getting this question, I’ve realized I've obviously not answered it to your satisfaction:) I'm going to post here and ask that you all help me in spreading the word around.
I'm currently working on a trilogy that features Dani, Christian MacKeltar, Ryodan, and the mysterious 'Dancer,' set primarily in Fever-Dublin. Each installment in the trilogy is a stand-alone mystery, however there are larger plot arcs unfolding in the background. Where Mac was introspective and her story could feel somewhat esoteric, Dani is down and dirty in the streets. Lots of details, lots of action. There’s a different feel to the two series, totally different vantage points. I’m having a blast writing it.
For those of you who have been worrying—the trilogy is not YA. If I had to categorize it, I would say it straddles the line between YA and adult uneasily. I don’t pull any punches. It may be controversial in some ways. But whose teen years weren’t? LOL! Many of the questions I left unanswered in the FEVER series are addressed in this new series.
Exciting news: I’ve agreed to write two more books after that. Once the new trilogy is complete, I’m returning to the core story begun in the FEVER series, and will resume writing about Mac, Barrons, V’lane, Cruce, the Unseelie king, the concubine, the Song of Making.
All in all, there are five more books coming about the Fever World!
Because I know you guys, I know this is going to make some of you as nervous as it makes you excited. Trust me. I’m making no compromises with the characters or the story. It’s all unfolding exactly as it should, true to itself-which means, it’s a sometimes rocky road. Dark times ahead, guys. But I write it all with genuine love for the characters, the world, and you the reader.
Doesn't that just make you want to break out into a Barrons happy dance knowing Karen is returning to FEVER series with Barrons etc...to write two more books....Oh the pain of the wait.
Now as I understand it:

You know what, after she finishes Fever, I hope KMM writes a Fae series. There is so much story to tell with the Tuatha de and her Fae are bitchin don't you agree?! Adam Black's story isn't enough, there's too much that's missing like how in the world did Aoibheal, a former mortal and concubine, end up being the queen and frozen in time? But in any case, I'm excited about this AND the upcoming movie/s.
ReplyDeleteHi Braine,
ReplyDeleteThe thing with Karen's writing is she has so much detail, you are right , there are other areas . I have to admit I am rather snug as a bug being near Barrons...loL!!! I think I have read in her Highlander series upto including The Dark Highlander where you get upto knowing about Adam Black, I don;t think I read The Immortal Highlander. I know there is that little crossover of characters. Christian?
