RATING: 4.75 LIAM STARS!!
Liam “Hunter” Blake hates the Reapers MC. Born and raised a Devil’s Jack, he knows his duty. He’ll defend his club from their oldest enemies—the Reapers—using whatever weapons he can find. But why use force when the Reapers’ president has a daughter who’s alone and vulnerable? Hunter has wanted her from the minute he saw her, and now he has an excuse to take her. Em has lived her entire life in the shadow of the Reapers. Her overprotective father, Picnic, is the club’s president. The last time she had a boyfriend, Picnic shot him. Now the men in her life are far more interested in keeping her daddy happy than showing her a good time. Then she meets a handsome stranger—a man who isn't afraid to treat her like a real woman. One who isn't afraid of her father. His name is Liam, and he’s The One. Or so she thinks.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:
I’m going to start by saying, Em, is the best female lead out of the gals, so far. I just totally dig her. That is just my personal opinion. She is just gorgeous. Great attitude.
Liam aka Hunter is a really gorgeous MC lad. Now, I could be a MC old lady for him. I could quite easily convert. Although he is a dangerous lad, there is something about him that sets him apart from Horse and Ruger, even though those lads are great.
He makes me purrrrrr...rrrrr..rrrrr
“I hate you,” I said, but it came out as less of a declaration and more of a plea.
“Everyone hates me. But not everyone tastes as good as you, sweetheart. What’ll it be? We doing this or not?”
I think moving us more away from the actual club in this installment had me getting more of a lady boner for Liam than the other lads. I like being away from the whores and watching Liam discover his love for a woman when he didn’t really understand love.
“Every once in a while, I wonder what life would be like outside the club,” I admitted, rubbing a hand through my hair. “You know, if we didn’t have all this shit to deal with? If we could just live like normal people.”
Em, is such a great girl, she knows the MC world and she fits so perfectly with the forbidden love which is Liam.
She’d make an amazingly unholy old lady.
She can make it work!
I loved how Hunter preferred her calling him Liam. It was more personal between them behind the club walls, so to speak. It felt like he treated her more like they were both citizens. Not sure how I am trying to explain this. He was just...more. Even though they weren’t citizens.
* goes cross eyed *
I wasn’t sure of Kit at first, the sister, she kinda took over with Em, but the more I read her, the more I could see she was like Picnic.
“That is so fucking unfair,” she burst out. “You know how many guys I’ve tried to bring home? He never lets any of them stay with us.”
“That’s the problem,” I heard Dad say in the background. “Guys. Plural. I don’t agree with Em’s choice, but at least she made one. You’re just using them up like tissues.”
“Like you should talk?” she demanded. “You’re worse than a fucking alley cat!”
Now, if I was to be truly honest, I will admit I thought the build up to the shooter/baddie, kinda fell a bit flat. There was impact and impact and intense situation, and then it was kinda over.
I thought that could have gone a bit more crazier, considering it was this mysterious entity through the whole story.
But!
I don’t rate lower for it. I was definitely very satisfied with this installment.
I gotta admit I have to apologize to a character as I had this person pegged as the baddie and I got it wrong. Which is awesome. I hate predicting something that is part of the whole story.
Booyahh! I got stumped.
Brilliant!
Joanna does a wonderful job of Em and Liam’s book. Sure we got a good block of rehashing of what we knew from Reaper’s Legacy in the first part of the book, but in more detail, so I knew where all that was heading, no surprises really due to Reaper’s Legacy, just told from Em’s point in more detail.
OO I did like seeing that we could be heading into Picnic’s book next. Love where this could be heading and the lady that he has gone a bit caveman over, even if she doesn’t know it yet.
Loved them perving on her. HA!
I could feel how growly Picnic got.
Looking forward to that story.
Another awesome addictive read in the Reapers MC series.
Bring. On. Reaper’s Stand, releasing 7th October. OO couple days before I turn into a really old lady.
Hehe, pun intended :S
..."I can’t imagine anything more fun than spending a holiday in the home of the man who wants me dead. Like our own fuckin’ Hallmark movie, but with live ammo.”
Love that quote!~
