The readers LOVE Spencer and Ford. I LOVE Spencer & Ford. Now for those of you who took me up on my recommending Rook & Ronin to you, I have heard how much you have loved them.
Fords novella, Slack and his full length book Taut, are brilliant.
I am such a fan girl of all the lads. J.A. just floats my boat.
I am a complete hussy when it comes to J.A's lads.
You can check all my reviews out on the blog. Just check the left side bar.
J.A. actually told me the reason we are getting a novella on Spencer - A Day In Spencer's Life, Bomb is cause of me. My hint was in my Slack review. I have the fb message, I am not talking smack :)
Woot!!

TAUT: The Ford Book by JA Huss
(Rook and Ronin Spin-off)
Published January 20, 2014
Contemporary, Erotic Romance, New-ish Adult
Synopsis:
Published By: Science Future Press
Released: Available Now
Details: Digital Copy for honest review, 325 Pages
RATING: 5 I'M SO IN LOVE WITH FORD STARS!!
Blurb: Goodreads
TAUT IS A STANDALONE NOVEL - you do NOT have to read any of the Rook and Ronin books first.
Ford Aston is known for many things. Being an emotionless, messed up bastard, a freakishly smart social outcast, and a cold, domineering master who keeps "pets" instead of girlfriends.
And after Rook broke his heart, he plans to keep it that way.
Ashleigh is known for nothing, and that's exactly what she's got going for her. She's broke, stranded in the mountains with a three month old baby, and Ford Aston is screwing with her head.
Big. Time.
And she plans to mess with his right back.
It's a coy game at first, filled with flirting, and innuendo--but Ford soon realizes something is not quite right with Ashleigh. In fact, something is seriously, seriously wrong and the closer they get to their final destination, the closer Ford gets to the truth.
One night of devastation, self-loathing, and emptiness turns into the best thing that ever happened to Ford Aston. But one day of in-your-face reality threatens Ashleigh's whole existence.
******
Ford first appears in Rook and Ronin #2, Manic. He has a bigger role in Panic, R&R #3, and then he has a novella, called SLACK. This TAUT book is only FORD. It's not really part of the R&R series, as that plot has all been sidelined for this one romance book.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:
I love Ford Aston.
I love him even more after reading Taut.
Ford is a character who is just so well written.
Clever.
He sees a problem, he fixes it.
He is a little dangerous, cunning and a quick thinker.
Ford is a walking , breathing thesaurus of descriptive words.
You want him on your team. When he plays, he plays to win. Rook is the only one he didn’t win.
Just when I thought I was a smart ass and had channeled some of Ford’s genius and worked something out...
...BAM!!!
I got blindsided.
Crikey. Didn’t see that coming.
Ford is everything and more in this book.
He has met his match intellectually.
Enter Ashleigh.
Ashleigh may come across as fragile, in need of saving and a mamma to boot, but she knows what she wants. She likes to talk things out with Ford. She likes to challenge his beliefs in himself.
“But yeah, I’m not usually so nice. You caught me on a bad day.”
“This is a bad day? What are you like on a good day? A saint?” This brings the smile back, at least partly.
“No, on a good day I’m myself. On a good day I would’ve left you in your car all night.”
She looks over at me quickly. “Would not’ve.”
Ford thinks he knows what he wants. He thinks he can’t show emotion, but he is hurting from Rook.
He wanted Rook. He can’t have her. He won’t settle for less.
I’m not an emotional guy. I mean, I get what she’s saying, but even after my dad died, I never wanted to like, kill myself or anything. I have a strong sense of preservation. And I suppose that’s why I don’t always put others first.
Ashleigh likes to interrupt and question Ford.
And then she does shut up and go away.
I sit here thinking it over several minutes before I come to the conclusion that I have just been word-slapped by a girl who never raised her voice or used profanity.
Ford likes to control.
Game on.
Ford likes his space.
“Sphere of privacy, people. Now.”
I could so see Rutherford saying that. It made me laugh. I think that is a quote that will stick with me forever. I can actually see Sheldon from Big Bang Theory saying this. Ford is after all a genius.
But there is more stuff going on here than first meets the eye and I loved watching it unfold.
I loved watching Ford...evolve.
“Yeah,” I say to Kate, my captive audience. “That’s some shit right there.”
Ford is growl worthy.
His sexual side is... * growl *
“ Tonight I promise you perfection. So just give in, Ashleigh. Give yourself to me and let it happen.”
I simply love listening to Ford’s inner monologue.
Where are you going, Ford?
I don’t answer the voice. Partly because I have no idea and partly because it’s not good to encourage the internal monologue.
I know I am odd. I do, I admit it. I understand this, I own it. What can I say. I was just born this way.
This is my new thing, since I met Rook. I’m trying to make amends for any and all weird past behavior. I figure trying to blow him up on the golf course counts as something that requires an effort.
Ford and Ashleigh’s road trip is a healing trip for Ford. He is getting much benefit from playing the Knight.
“It was your absence that woke me, not the noise you were making.”
Every time J.A. writes a book or a spin-off in this series I will pick it up ASAP and read it.
I am addicted.
Simply. Addicted. I am having withdrawal , already.
Bring. On. Bomb.

AUTHOR BIO
J. A. Huss likes to write new adult books that make you think and keep you guessing. Her favorite genre to read is space opera, but since practically no one reads those books, she writes new adult science fiction, paranormal romance, contemporary romance, urban fantasy, and books about Junco (who refuses to be saddled with a label).
She has an undergraduate degree in horses, (yes, really–Thank you, Colorado State University) and a master’s degree in forensic toxicology from the University of Florida. She used to have a job driving around Colorado doing pretty much nothing but shooting the breeze with farmers, but now she just writes, runs the New Adult Addiction and Clean Teen Reads Book Blogs, and runs an online science classroom for home schoolers.
