DAY 21 : I am doing some fancy fast and furious driving getting all the way over to Western Australia in my Kombi to have a chat with Lola Stark. I think I read somewhere she lived in W.A. or was it QLD? If not, let's just pretend I went to the right state :p It is a magical Kombi van.

Welcome Lola, Scarlett and Mace.
What to say ? Errrr…
Lola hates all things sultanas.
Lola is a little strange and unusual.
Lola has no brain-to-mouth filter (this may or may not have gotten Lola into trouble – repeatedly).
Lola is keeping Coca-cola in business one 2lt bottle at a time.
Apparently, Lola likes to talk in the third person about herself.
This here is what my profile says everywhere:
Lola Stark lives in Australia, Is an at-home mummy with no filter, raising a hoard of minions, and a husband who sometimes appears not to have grown up. Lola has loved to read for as long as she can remember. When not wrangling the family, she can be found sitting at her computer, writing, facebooking or just generally messing around.
I know, I know third person again.
So what else can I tell you about me ?
I have a dog, 3 birds and a pet rock. I have five minion-type children. I married my high school sweetheart aka asshole wrapped in tinfoil/occasional knight in shining armour. I was a teen mum (DON’T DO IT). Right now, I’m alternating writing this and yelling at my kids to stop jumping on the bed and to go the fuck to sleep before I push them off. I may be a little very inappropriate…often.
Junk food and I have an understanding: I eat it, it hibernates around my ass and thighs. I love music, almost any kind is fine by me.
If I don’t have anything nice to say, I bite the shit outta my tongue. I cuss like a sailor and sometimes smell like one too (hey now, McJudgy, you can’t shower, brush your teeth or hair if you’re in the middle of writing a book).
I make a mean potato-layer bake and I have slight road rage. I struggle not to laugh when my kids are inappropriate and say screwy shit. I don’t really like people…I’m that creepy chick who sits in the corner till she has a booze buzz going on, then I’m as loud as fuck. I have an addiction to shoes. I smoke like a chimney.
So that’s me!
I’m screwy and funsized (it’s not called short anymore).
You’ll either love me or hate me, but I am always just ME!

Q & A SESH with LOLA
Michelle: What five words describe Lola Stark the AUTHOR?
Lola: Loud, inappropriate, loyal, fierce and pantless.
Michelle: Pantless, now I got to ask is it a comfort thing?
Lola: It was initially a quirk that’s turned into a joke. One of the **clears throat** Sexy time scenes I wrote in TL was written pantless, It cuts off the creative juices you see.
Michelle: What fifteen words describe the person behind the author?
Lola: Shit, Really? Ummm. Do those ones count? No? Okay, I am strange, peculiar, I have absolutely no filter. This is hard **snickers** That’s what she said. I am exactly how you see me online and in my writing. I am me.
Michelle: So you have a funny bone . Ever thought of taking up stand up comedy?
Lola: No ! I get terrible stage fright and my jokes get old real quick besides I think pantless stand up comedy is frowned upon.
Michelle: If you were given the task of walking up to somebody random in the street and you were to explain your book to them in a short speech what would you tell them? Not your book blurb, but something more...deeper.
Lola: I like your play on words there. Okay, I’m answering Shesshh. Calm ya tits, princess.
Michelle: Thank you I try to be a word smith. My son often tells me to calm my farm, when I found out what that meant...
Lola: Yeah, that wasn’t at all awkward for you I bet.
Michelle: Two words. Dishes duty. Plus it ain't the 70's.
Lola: So, I wrote this book, you can read it if ya like. It’s about a hot dude and a smart mouthed chick they have problems, they have hot sex on and against anything they can find. Loads of stuff happens. Yeah, that’s all. See ya :p
Michelle: I think I may like to read it. It has you and hubs on the front cover looking very in the moment and I checked out some reviews and you are keeping the natives satisfied.
Lola: I do try.
Michelle: What ten words would Scarlett use to describe Mace?
Scarlett: Fuckable, lickable, mountable, Wait I got distracted. He’s deep, he’s alpha but sweet. He has a disgustingly adorable annoying side that makes him do cheesy crap to piss me off. Turns out he wasn’t an asshole wrapped in tinfoil after all.
Michelle: Scarlett, you shoot straight from the hip. I always try to mind my P’s and Q’s but somehow I think it is a bit more fun to shoot first .
Scarlett: So long as it isn’t in your eye.
Michelle: ba boom. That's meant to be that drum sound.
What ten words would Mace use to describe Scarlett?
Mace: Smartmouthed. **grunt** she’s cute especially when she’s pissy at me. She’s got an amazing ass. She loved me even when I didn’t think I deserved it, she lets me love her and that’s pretty fuckin special all on it’s own. She’s also extremely stubborn.
Scarlett: I am not.
Mace: Yes you are. I asked for one, just for now.
Scarlett: I told you to be patient. **looks to Michelle* Did I mention he’s impatient ? Add that to the list.
Michelle: You didn’t, but sounds like he wants you carrying a mini Mace or Scar around in your belly. ASAP.
Mace: I’ll get you pregnant one way or the other. End of discussion. **smiles smugly*
Scarlett : **Rolls eyes** Moving on.
Michelle: I really need to read about you two, you sound like you could finish each other’s sentences. Why do you think women love to read about a tattooed guy or a tattooed girl?
Lola: I honestly don’t have a clue, I guess you could say it’s a little bit out of the norm of everyday life. It happens, but how many people do you or I know that are like Mace and Scar ?
Michelle: Well, I haven’t read about them yet, but I had a peek at the reviews and everybody is loving Mace and Scar. I want to tatt hubs up and get one for myself. I am digging some peacock feathers. Not sure why. I like peacocks. We are a couple of virgin tattooees, ( is that a word?) blank canvas’s .
If you could put a piece of artwork on your body from Tattered Love, what would it be? Be it a quote or an image and why?
Lola: Mace wears my hubby’s ink (The neck scorpion and the tribal arm ink) Me I’d go with the engine from Scar’s arm ;)
Michelle: What quote do you think is the most powerful from Tattered Love?
Lola: That’s going to be different for every person. For me it’s a mix between two ‘Keep your head, heels and standards high’ This one, because no matter what life throws at you or how you’re feeling … well it sort of says it all doesn’t it ?
Michelle: Throw the heels on, keep the head high, and keep those standards above board. I would try that all on for size and try not to fall over in my heels whilst looking dead ahead. Some of us are better at heels. J

Lola: And the final thoughts from Mace. "This was my love, her love --torn, damaged, broken, ripped apart and put back together. This was our tattered love.”
For the simplest fact that nobody’s love is always easy, there will always be hurt and heartache along the way it’s how you choose to handle it as a couple that makes it what it is.
Michelle: Amen. Is there a song you listened to the most while writing Tattered Love and why?
Lola: I’m a self confessed music whore. I LOVE music of almost any type. I have a full playlist but the most listened to would have been Stone Sour - Looking through the glass and Lifehouse ‘Hanging by a moment’. Music speaks to me I can be listening to a song about mushrooms and a whole new idea completely unrelated will pop into my head.
Just click on the youtube title down bottom of vid and it will take you to the vid.
Rules , rules...sigh.
Michelle: I totally dig where you are coming from. A song can mean the difference between a good scene and an amazing scene when you get that emotion from a song it can rev up an idea.
What song best describes each Scarlett and Mace and why?
Lola: Ohhh, good one. I’m going to pick one that describes them both. ‘Life after you’ from Daughtry. It’s Mace and Scar … just them.
Michelle: Casting call. Who do you see in your mind when writing Scarlett and Mace and do you have any images?
Lola: I write with blank characters. I haven’t ever found myself casting my characters. I love to see who readers pick though.
Michelle: I love getting a visual in my head. Then I run with it for the whole book. Sometimes I am close to an author's image or the fans images they pick, sometimes I am like WT! Goes back and reads the character description. LOL!
What message do you want readers to take from your debut book?
Lola: Be yourself. Just be you, not who you think people want you to be. I believe there is somebody out there who will love you for all your scars and flaws, for all your ticks.
Michelle: Amen. Love comes in all packages.
Where were you and what were you doing when you came up with the initial idea for Tattered Love?
Lola: I was sitting on my veranda at home middle of the day watching my kids and hubby playing in the front yard and drawing up an idea for a new tattoo.
Michelle: So , what was the tattoo idea that got you writing?

Lola: I was sitting on my veranda at home middle of the day watching my kids and hubby playing in the front yard and drawing up an idea for a new tattoo.
Michelle: So , what was the tattoo idea that got you writing?
Michelle: Do you have a non spoiler quote you can share with everyone from Conflicted Love # 2?
Lola: I dried off quickly and pulled on a pair of grey sweatpants before I went back downstairs, the second my foot hit the bottom of the stairs I rolled my eyes Mace and Scarlett sat on the sofa mid make out session “get a room” I muttered as I flopped down in the only other chair. “You two are kind of nauseating” I grumbled my bad mood seeping out.
Mace just smiled as Scarlet shifted of his lap to curl up beside him calling me on my shit. “Stop being a little bitch, she just needs some time to get her head together” Scarlet told me looking unsure and a little guilty.
“You know something I don’t?” I asked the expression on her face confirming my suspicions “Spill it Scar”.
“Well it’s not my something to tell, you should talk to her soon though. Just, well it’s something important you two should talk about.” She told me quietly avoiding my eyes.
Michelle: Destry - Rough & Hard # 1 is releasing 29th December 2013. Giddy Up! What ten words describes this book?
Lola: Hat’s and Chaps, baby ;) Cherry chapstick, and hours of fun in the hay bales. Can you tell I’m no good at word games ? those ones where you have to say the first word that pops into your head ? Yeah, I just answer penis. We have a cocky cowboy and a spoilt city chick, throw in a few cheeky brothers, a sweet sister and a whole world of sexual tension.
Michelle: PENIS! Sure to grab everybody’s attention and make them forget what game you were even playing, lol! I think Vulva is another good one to shout out.
Lola: Vagina has a better ‘deer in the headlights’ potential.
Michelle: Do you have a non spoiler quote you could share with everyone from Destry?
Lola: She leaned over the table her soft peaches and cream skin glistening with sweat from the humid air "Keep talkin cowboy, those lips of yours are drippin honey but this girl ain't about to get stung"
I smirked up at her narrowed eyes "That a challenge Darlin?" I asked with a wink.
Amelia's eyes darkened her pouty bottom lip coming up between her teeth before she smiled, turned and made for the barn leaving me with a perfect show of her lush ass in those little cut off denim shorts her long smooth legs and those sexy red boots.
Michelle: Casting call. Who do you see in your mind when writing Destry and Amelia and do you have any images?
Lola: Nope again nothing ... just hot bodies sexy boots and yeah … I like to leave it up to the readers.
Michelle : And chaps. I have always fancied a pair of chaps. I did an interview a year back where I wore chaps ( my fantasy ) in my cyberspace interview. They looked good...in cyberspace. J
Lola: The amazing friendships I’ve made. My very best friends are from bookland. People I’ve met along the way, they stand out to me, they’re my sanity, my heartache and my passion all rolled into one. I’ve gotten to talk to my book babe idol, that was pretty special it’s a huge step up from peeking through her windows.
Michelle: Ahh you did some peeping tom-ing. Yes, the book world I feel is quite a safe and chatty one.
Lola : Stalking ... peeping . They’re such strong words, I prefer intense people watching. It’s a form of research, best done up close.
Michelle: What has been the most memorable book signing or book event you have been to and why?
Lola: I’m a book event virgin :p Never fear, that cherry is about to be popped when a group of badly behaving authors and bloggers hit the streets of Sydney for a meet and greet in a week and a half.
Michelle: My cherry will be popped when hubs and I come down for the Indie Author event on Gold Coast. Not been to an event like that before with a whole swagger of authors lined up for me to gawk at and take happy snaps of.
If your life at this point in time could be described in a chocolate flavor or an icecream flavor, what flavor would it be and why?
Lola: Booze, bucket lists and babes ... can I pick that? I still feel like I’m drunk and I’ll be waking up with a hell of a hangover any minute, it’s an amazing thing writing something , putting your words out there.
Or I would call it sexual innuendo sorbet … that one is pretty self explanatory.
Michelle: I do love a flavor called sexual innuendo sorbet. Sounds rather tasty. I will say in all the time I have asked that question, you get the prize for the most creative answers. You raised the bar on flavours!
Thank you Lola for taking the time to answer my Q’s and all the best with your writing.
Scarlett: It was great be-
Mace: **Throws Scarlett over his shoulder and leaves with a nod of his head**
Lola: Thanks for having me, I had fun and I’m hoping there will be no restraining orders or incriminating evidence this time. **stands up, puts pants back on and calmly speed walks for the door**
