Sex. Who really knows sex? I mean, we've all had sex, great sex even but when you get down to the details, how many of us actually see sex for the raw, primal act that it is?
I thought I knew sex. I've had sex. Heck, I've felt lust. Once, I've even felt love. I thought I knew exactly what sex was.
Until I met Cade.
He's the meaning of sex.
He's a biker.
He's dangerous.
He's powerful.
He's dominant.
He wants me.
My world is about to change, for the better? I don't know. But here's my story, I hope you're ready for it because it's not the beautiful, heart wrenching story most people have to tell. It's passionate, forbidden, morally incorrect and downright, fucking beautiful.
BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:
This is my first MC read. I have had Madeline Sheehan’s, Undeniable series sitting on my kindle, I am yet to crack it open. So I only have Bella’s story of the MC life to go on.
Hubs watches Sons of Anarchy, I was grilling him asking him , do these guys really call their girlfriend, woman, no matter their age, ‘ old lady?’ Do these MC guys really swear at their women all the time even though they love them? Do women have to know their place in a MC man’s world?
He’s like yup!
This was quite an addictive read for me. I read lots of genres , no matter whether the guy is an ex military, paranormal, teenager, erotic billionaire, the list goes on, I am not used to a guy telling a female to , ‘shut the fuck up.’
Cade is that guy. I really liked Cade, but for this thing he did with Addison. Again that is just my cross to bear. Bella wrote Cade as this smexi, and I do mean smexi, tough, raw lad. It is a part of his character. He loves Addison and he loves her with his own vocabulary. It just took some getting used to for me to listen to a guy who loves his woman to speak the way he spoke. It didn’t endear me to him as much as it could of.
“You fuckin’ love me , you moody little shit.”
“Sugar, I’m fuckin’ stayin’. Now shut the fuck up, and get some sleep.”
Then he pulls something out that makes me sit up and notice him more.
“You’re the kind of girl that makes a man want to stop what he’s doing, just so he can get a moment to look at that angelic face -- a face that will keep him awake for the rest of his fuckin’ life. That’s the kind of girl you are, sugar.”
“You might not think you’re worth fighting for, or breathing for, but let me tell you , sugar - everyone deserves to be fought for, even those who think they aren’t worth it.”
“Well, I mean it, sugar, with everything I am. I don’t love easily, and I sure as shit don’t tell people when it’s happenin’. You’re different. You’ve been different since the moment you walked into that compound.”
“If I think you’re makin’a mistake, I ain’t gonna be fuckin’ nice about it. Don’t mean I don’t care about you, ‘coz I fuckin’ do. The reason I do it, is ‘coz the idea of losin’ you, is somethin’ I can’t fuckin’ live with.
I felt endeared towards Spike, he and Addison had this thing with her wanting to be his friend. His character is broken and filled with pain, but he behaved differently with Addison.
If this book was being rated on the sexual experiences alone, I would give it six out of five stars, because WOW!
WOW!
Holy mac and cheese!
For me it was refreshing to see an author come up with some new positions. I mean, everybody is going to be talking about that motorbike scene. How could you not. Bella did an amazing job of that and also another scene which I will let you find out for yourself.
I really liked the PAST and PRESENT parts of chapters. I felt like I was getting to know Addison and her painful past.
This is not a very long book and I am going to be honest and say, no matter how smexi Cade is, I didn’t feel as though I knew him. I felt like I had only touched the surface of his character.
It is a quick romance, biker style.
I think I wanted Cade’s character fleshed out more.
Cade showed me he knows how to rock a girls kazbah, but I wanted to know Cade the man more. I know he has a white house that is neat, he can cook, he can get any woman he wants, needs. He is Vice President of Hell’s Knights. He owns Addison, his old lady. But who is Cade? I wanted to know this so I could understand why Addison fell so hard so quick for this man. Cade found $50,000 pretty quickly to pay someone off.
When it comes to Addison’s character my only problem I had with her character, and it is just my own personal opinion, for me, I felt like her incredibly horrendous up bringing was not dealt with enough in this book. What I mean to say is, when you have been repeatedly raped, on Meth, drugs, abused, watched your mother being a whore, not fed properly, the list goes on. Mentally you would have some issues.
I know this has given her character a strength because she wasn’t treated with love, but there has to be some issues with this upbringing. She still is only twenty one years old. The tissue box must be waiting to explode.
Her character can be a bit immature at times, but then, not. It was inconsistent at times her behavior. It is just how I felt about her. Others may disagree with me. It could be the way she was raised.
She has been abused by men, seen a lot that a child should not see. She turns up on the doorstep of a bikie compound looking for her father.
Somebody to save her.
She breaks all the rules because she doesn’t know the rules.
Bella put Addison through hell as a teenager, I just didn’t believe doing Meth and whatever else, could be so easy to consume and then get off it, but then get back on it, and then get off it. Drugs ruin peoples lives. Meth is one of them. But it was her coping mechanism for the horror she endured. So it is possible.
Jackson , Addison’s father , has lost a lot of time with his daughter. I liked seeing the leader of the Hell’s Knights showing a gentler side for his daughter. He let me inside to see his more vulnerable side. I liked this.
I thought the villain was very villain worthy and a certain scene was visually very graphic in my head. I thought it was well written. It packed a punch. Felt very real.
An MC life is a life that feels very hard to relax in. There are territories not to cross.
Or else!
Men have their rules that women must obey.
The world of bikers, everything is dangerous, the rules, you have to be a special woman to be at peace with all that. They are a law unto their own.
Then he pulls something out that makes me sit up and notice him more.

The world of bikers, everything is dangerous, the rules, you have to be a special woman to be at peace with all that. They are a law unto their own.
No matter what genre I read I want to believe the character no matter what they are in to or how they talk. J.R. Ward had me rooting for an M/M relationship with Qhuinn and Blay, Olivia Cunning had me loving all her rockers in her Sinners On Tour series. No matter what they are into and those lads are into some stuff. Lauren Dane and her Brown Siblings series with Erin, Ben and Todd’s triad relationship. Joey W Hill made my eyes boggle with her Knights of the Boardroom series and what those lads and gals get up to, but I believe the story all these authors are telling me.
Love comes in all forms and with toys.
Love is love. It’s not all vanilla with icing on top. It can be raw and fierce and come with its own vocabulary and accessories.
I need to read more in this genre. I am seriously lacking. I would have given this book five stars , it was a great debut, but I needed more in the story line.
A great start to this series for debut author Bella Jewel. Don't be expecting flowers and candle lit dinners, be expecting raw love and a dangerous gritty life. Cade loves his own way, and you just got to roll with it.
Or else , 'shut the fuck up.' Excuse my french, I couldn't help myself :)
“Fuckin’ love you, sugar. You know that, yeah?”
I nod. “Cade, I know that. I’ve known that for a while now. The thing is-”
“I want you to know how much.”
Stubborn man is cutting me off at the one moment I want to tell him I love him.
“I know how much, the thing is-”
“Sugar, you’re fuckin’ changin’ everything I am.”
“You’re changing everything I am too, that’s why I wanted to-”
“Sugar, fuck,” he growls. “Do you ever stop talkin’ for five minutes?”
“I’m trying to-”
“Sugar!” he says, tugging my hands. “Shut the fuck up!”
“Why?” I cry.
“Because I’m tryin’ to fuckin’ ask you to marry me.”
My entire world stops. I feel like I’ve been punched in the chest, but in the best possible way. He wants to marry me? Cade Duke – big, bad biker – wants to marry me? I feel my eyes burn with unshed tears, as a feeling of pure joy rushes through my body.

ReplyDeleteThis is so like Kit Rocha's erotic MC series, Beyond. If you want to binge, you should add that series to your list. It's just as hot and it's dystopian, erotica.
ReplyDeleteMatey, you know I am a little new to all the naughty stuff, lol! But, dang! there is some memorable stuff going on in these books. You should take a lookie. Ok I shall check out Kit Rocha and apparently there is Reaper's Property I should be checking out too. I think that was its name. So I shall make sure I read some of those too :D
DeleteIs this the one you mean ? https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15830843-beyond-shame#other_reviews . It doesn't sound like MC. Or does MC mean something different to what I thought it meant? Hmmm I thought it meant motorcycle club. My review may sound a tad weird if it doesn't mean that, lol!
