Harper only wanted a safe, normal life. But when her younger sister Gemma runs off with a dangerous clique of beautiful girls, Penn, Thea, and Lexi, everything changes. Vowing to get her sister back no matter what the cost, Harper must face dangers unlike any she's ever experienced. Fortunately, she has Daniel by her side, a gorgeous guy who's devoted to helping her find her sister—and who's immune to the girls' dark powers.

While Harper searches for her sister, Gemma struggles to adjust to her new life. Gemma's powers are growing by the day, and the longer she lives with her new "sisters," the harder it is to resist entering their magical world. It's a realm both dark and beautiful, and where she's plagued by strange hungers and unspeakable needs. Just as she's drifting far away from her old life, Harper and Daniel find her...but no one can deny how much she's changed. All she wants is to return to her family and the mortal world, but how can she do that when she's become something else entirely—and will they still love her once they learn the truth?

Prepare to fall under the spell of Lullaby, the second book in the Watersong series from New York Times bestselling author Amanda Hocking.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

I really like the characters and pace of this new series of Amanda’s. Where Wake finished, Lullaby starts. The titles and covers are just beautiful.

Daniel is still such a gorgeous character who is there for Harper and her family. There is a vulnerability to him I love and he doesn’t hesitate to risk his life. Oh, there was a scene that I was ‘shadow boxing’ in, and high fiving Daniel.

If you have read book one, you know we are dealing with Sirens, and Penn is an awesome villain. She oozes evil. Lexi is unpredictable, spontaneous in her decisions, which is not necessarily a good thing. Thea, seems to have some compassion....if possible?

Gemma thinks she is doing the right thing, but really, you need a little help from your friends.

Marcy, I really like her. She shoots from the hip and doesn’t hesitate to throw in some ideas and looks at the problem/villain with a clear mind and tries to solve the conundrum of how to do away with the evil that is a threat to mankind and her friends. She is a logical thinker. Whether it works?

I can’t help thinking there is something up with Nathalie? Her outbursts sometimes tell me things....or not, lol!

Earplugs and a plan is what is needed to help them stay on track and fight Penn, Lexi and Thea. Are some of the Siren’s theories starting to unravel? Is Penn not telling them the truth? Or does she truly believe in what she was told about the curse?

I liked Alex’s character development in this series. Daniel is teaching Harper that she may have had to play the mummy card with Gemma, but he is a big boy. * swoon*

Amanda doesn’t hold back with her gorey moments, her bare bottom Sirens are to be reckoned with, throw in a couple smexi lads ( Daniel, *swoon*) and Harper, the sister that won’t give up, and this is turning into a very intriguing series.

I know I over swooned but deal with it

Bring on Tidal!

FAVE QUOTES:

“Your sister ran off with some weird-ass bird-monsters,”Daniel said. “Can you really afford to turn away somebody that wants to help get her back? Especially someone that doesn’t think you’re insane for believing in weird-ass bird-monsters?”

“I have a one-track mind? “ Marcy scoffed. “We spend every day talking about sirens, but I want to spend an afternoon talking about the T.rex and his ridiculous appendages, and I have a one-track mind?”

“You’re right.” Harper paused......"

......”Good. Because yesterday I read 1001 Exciting Facts About Dinosaurs while you were gone,” Marcy said. “And today I plan on sharing all of them with you.”

  1. I haven't read much about this series at all, I think I saw 'sirens' and thought "too similar to mermaids for me!' but it sounds good and I really like the cover!

  2. SIRENS! Now you have my attention :D Well actually, you had my attention when you started swooning over Daniel. My hormones can't resist a sexy Ya boy *sigh* I've only read one of Amanda Hocking's books, which was Switched, but I enjoyed it and definitely want to catch up on that series. Now you've convinced me I need to give the Watersong series a read! Fantastic review, Michelle!
