Becca Chandler is suddenly getting all the guys - all the ones she doesn't want. Ever since her ex-boyfriend spread those lies about her. Then she saves Chris Merrick from a beating in the school parking lot. Chris is different. Way different: he can control water just like his brothers can control fire, wind, and earth. They're powerful. Dangerous. Marked for death.

And now that she knows the truth, so is Becca.

Secrets are hard to keep when your life's at stake. When Hunter, the mysterious new kid around school, turns up with a talent for being in the wrong place at the right time, Becca thinks she can trust him. But then Hunter goes head-to-head with Chris, and Becca wonders who's hiding the most dangerous truth of all.

The storm is coming.

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle :

Batten down the hatches. ‘Storm’, was an incredible ride. The rain will be pelting your face, the wind whipping your hair into a frenzy, and the earth will shake.....errr.....literally, the boys are hot!

But, you have heard that already , I am sure.

Meet the Merrick brothers.... plus one. Michael, Gabriel, Nicky and Chris....plus New Kid, aka Hunter. I took a fancy to Hunter straight away. Sandy blond hair, streak of white, multiple ear piercings and eyebrow piercings, green eyes, lean, muscled arms....tattoos.... what? I am letting fictional aged self out for a good airing and fictional self had a wonderful time ogling in this book J

Happy days J

Michael is the ‘parent type’, because he has to be. Gabriel and Nicky are twins. Gabriel is more sin. Nicky is the one that comes along for the ride and gets into whatever trouble Gabriel is chasing. The boys don't want Michael playing the parent card. They want him as their brother. Michael has to be the responsible one.

Chris, he is in trouble straight from the word go......

Enter Becca. A few moves from self defence classes and she is jumping into the action. She never really had a chance not to get mixed up with these lads. Becca has gotten herself a reputation and it has stuck like mud, thick, dripping mud that won’t wipe off easily. She has a kind heart and she sees trouble and jumps in without assessing the danger until she is knee deep.

It's a bit like watching tennis with Becca, Chris and Hunter. I was the ball. Was I with Chris or was I with Hunter..... oh the conundrum. Hunter, caring, a good listener, all new age guy with his crystals and stones. Chris was there when it counted.

Was I in or out?

Earth, Fire, Air, Water, and New Kid. Let the tension, trust issues, fights, friendships and danger begin..... and the kisses. Becca finds herself mixed up in a whole lot more than she bargained for, and she can't just walk away.

Seth and Tyler are the pains in the butt of the storyline, they seem to land on their feet every time they seek out the brothers to cause pain.

Monica , Tommy and Drew, all were in need of a good ‘stinky dead fish slap’ from me. Some needed more than one slap!

Everybody is suffering . Everybody is hiding pain. Who can be trusted and who is to blame?

Brigid had me hoping the whole book that I wasn’t onto something,  it was riding on my shoulder. I kept turning the pages, hoping. I won’t say if I was right or not but I got slammed in the face with a couple awesome OMG moments that I just did not see coming, and I was quietly high fiving Brigid.

I LOVE nothing more than getting blind sided, makes me very happy.

Brigid will draw you from the word go, into her story. You will love this band of brothers, no matter how much they argue or keep Michael in the dark, isolate him because he had to draw the ‘parent' card. He has no choice, he is the glue that keeps them altogether, even though they are making it very hard for him, resenting him at times. I did feel sad for Michael. He has lost as much as his brothers, carries more guilt, and to boot draws the sucky ‘parent’ card.

I loved Brigid’s writing. How she wrote the boys and their drawing on their power. The feel you got when reading, the wind ,rain, and earth etc. I thought her writing was very good with making us ‘feel’ water and everything that went with the scene with Chris and his brothers, depending on who was drawing on what. I really felt it was all happening around me, the descriptive was really cool. I could feel the Storm coming, I was a part of it when it hit.

I am eager to crack open ‘Spark’, to see what Gabriel the cheeky rebel is getting up to. I have also bought ‘Fearless’ the novella.

Yup , the rip cord is pulled and I am addicted to Brigid’s character’s. I’m very interested to see where she takes Hunter.......’time will tell’.

Will I be in or out?

FAVE QUOTE:

He moved closer, until a breath would bring their lips together. 'You deserve better than a first kiss in a deserted parking lot.'

  2. I have Storm and the 0.5 but I'm not reading them until I have book 2, that should keep me going until book 3 comes out, I hate watiing for sequels,so that should keep me going lol!

I'll look out for your review on the Mythos Academy book, I've seen mixed reveiws, but heard the books get better and better and the plot sounds amazing, so I'll wait and see what you think.
I'm 32 (geez, when did that happen lol!) and some YA can be too YA, so I always look to people in my age bracket for reveiws that I know I can trust.

Great news for Tim's books hitting paperback, I've been wanting to tread them for ages but, I just wanted a lovely book, I have Doorways on Kindle app, but I'll wait now.

The witch book, I've forgotten the title now, I'll look out for your thoughts on that one too, I like witchy things, there's a lot of great witch books about. I'll be sure to look out for your author interview, you always ask different questions from the bog standard, so I look forward to them and of course the intervieww with Jay.. I can't wait for Stormdancer after reading your review for it, I can't decide whether to get the hardback or the paperback and which cover to get.. spoilt for choice!

    Great books as usual :-)
