Ashton is getting tired of being good, of impressing her parents and playing ideal girlfriend to Sawyer Vincent. Sawyer is perfect, a regular Prince Charming, but when he leaves town for the summer, it’s his cousin Beau who catches Ashton’s eye. Beau is the sexiest guy she’s ever seen, and even though he’s dangerous, Ashton is drawn to him.

Beau loves his cousin like a brother, so the last thing he wants to do is make a move on Sawyer’s girl. Ashton is off-limits, absolutely. That’s why he does his best to keep his distance, even though he’s been in love with her forever. When Ashton wants to rekindle their childhood friendship in Sawyer’s absence, Beau knows he should say no.

Ashton and Beau don’t want to hurt Sawyer. But the more they try to stay away from each other, the more intense their urges become. It’s getting way too hard to resist....

BOOK REVIEW by Michelle:

Beau! Beau! Beau!

Nuff said.

Ok, I will say some more.

Beau! Beau! Beau!

I am picking my jaw up off the ground.

I so love this guy.

He is a bad boy on the outside and one helluva love sick boy on the inside.

He stepped out of the truck and I watched him walk toward the door of his trailer with one of the sexiest swaggers known to man.

Sawyer Vincent, Beau’s cousin and best friend, has a smaller part in this story of two boys, one wholesomely good and one who likes to break the rules, and a preacher’s daughter.

They are both fighting for the love of this girl.....one more than the other.

The preacher’s daughter Ashton, is an interesting character. I can see why she doesn’t garner as much enthusiasm with the female readers, but the more you read the more you understand how the mischievous childhood friend of these two boys let one boy go so that she could be the ‘good’ preacher’s daughter with the other.

“Loosen up, Ash, it’s not like I’m going to tell on you. I’ve been keeping your secrets for years. I like knowing my Ash is still there somewhere underneath that perfect facade.”

Letting your wild side blossom while your boyfriend is away on family vacation isn’t probably the smartest way to let your wild side reappear and fall into the waiting eager arms of Beau and give your ‘V Card’ up with all the pent up teenage hormones raging inside you.

But this is what Ash did.

Beau is a guy that any girl would find hard to ignore. He just has the ‘IT’ factor when it comes to book boyfriends. On the outside he is a smexi , bad boy. On the inside he has eyes only for one girl.

His best friend.

His partner in childhood crime fun.

But she is with Sawyer. His best friend. The guy he loves like a brother.

If I’d ever taken the time to wonder about my soul being as black as this town seemed to believe, I knew the moment Ashton stepped out of her little white Jetta, looking like an angel from heaven , that my soul was damned to hell.

Sawyer claimed the only girl Beau had ever loved. No amount of drinking and sleeping about was going to erase that from his heart. But he tried.

I managed a shrug. “You wouldn’t have to argue with me if you didn’t drink so much.”

He let out a hard laugh. “You really are a perfect little preacher’s daughter, aren’t you , Ash? Once upon a time you were a helluva lot more fun. Before you started sucking face with Sawyer, we used to have some good times together.”

Until........

Y’all know, the old saying ‘When we practice to deceive.....’ , well it makes for a helluva love triangle.

“Ash, I’m trying real hard to be good . Good isn’t my thing but Sawyer’s important to me. Please remember I’ve got my limits and you studying my mouth like you want a taste is pushing me dangerously close to the edge of those limits.”

“I was very aware that you were a girl, Ash. I was just scared because the one person in the world who knew every secret I’d ever had also happened to be the most beautiful girl I’d ever known. My feelings for you were scary as hell.”

I leaned down and kissed the frown between his brows.

“Right now. Right here. I’m yours. Not Sawyer’s. He isn’t who I want. Right now, all I want is you.” I chose my words carefully so we both understood my meaning.

The gloves are off.

Fists will fly!

Coke will be spilt!

I loved Abbi's use of the countryside. I felt like I was in Alabama, in the heat , swimming in my teeny red bikini....*cough*, ok, the bikini is pushing it, but I got a real homey feel to the scenery. I was walking about the house going 'Y'all', this and that.

Abbi threw in a twist which I really liked. She caught me out there.

The Aussie cover is gorgeous. I think the model for Ash really stuck in my head when I was reading and doesn't Beau have a look on his face!

The pages will almost growl at you when you are reading Beau's pov and he is in his 'mine' dialogue. The boy has it bad and I enjoyed being in both Ash and Beau's pov.

Just quietly when you are voicing Beau's thoughts in your head.....and watching what he is doing with Ash....get out the jet propelled fan because you are gonna need it.

The Alabama heat isn't the only thing hot in this book!
